"What does that mean?"
As Julian continued walking home so many different thoughts ran through his head, even though it was still spring and on a cold day he there was a pearl of sweat running down his face. "Is this kind of a threat? Or maybe does this mean I also get expelled?" Even though he tried to keep his calamity his stomach began to hurt, this reminded him of the feeling before a test in school.
Back home he locked himself in his room, not because he wanted to hide, but to think what this means now or what there is to do now?
Still, the whole day he looked often out of his window, as he almost waited that someone would maybe stand there, but no one came, after time he realized that no one was going to come so he fell asleep instantly.
The next day he came to school, looking in his locker, a letter was lying there, as it just waited in excitement to be opened.
"Sigh…" What could be possible written in there?
"How bad can it be?"
He read it, as he was done, he felt a kind of confused but also as if a rock fell down from his heart.
The letter said "Dear Julian, there are about two weeks until the school year is over, this means almost everyone from the council will be out of school by then, we could just expel you without much effort but, we kind of find you interesting, if you get those three questions right you can stay, not only that, we will also make you the student representative for your next and last school year, have fun with your questions!"
By that he knew; they were only playing with him, but he continued reading.
"Your first question is going to be probably the easiest one, we know that you already know some bad things the council did, why? What was our motivation the whole time? Your second question is, is there some kind of leader beside the official president? If yes, who? Your last question is the hardest, one of the councils' members has a special ability, what ability and who?"
As he was done reading the questions he frightened "The first question is okay and guessable, the second also, beside it harder, but the last one?! In what world should I be able to do this? It could be anything at anyone!"
Sigh
His frightened face turned left, then right, at his right Saotome stood there, after he saw him, he began to calmly walk away, not as he got caught.
"Is this maybe to confuse me? This slowly just gets annoying, but anyways maybe it's the best to begin with the easiest question, if I start with the easiest first, I can take my time for the hard ones!"
Class still started on his way to class he already began to think.
"Money can't be the motivation at all, based from what I know they do they more even use money instead of getting it, only if they still do something that I don't know they do, power and influence in the other hand could maybe be it, they have much influence and power in the school, like I saw they could just expel some a student overnight and destroying his whole reputation, but is a school the right place for that? Maybe they think that they are going to do it later in life too and kind of begin early?! Sounds dumb and unrealistic to me, but who knows what their thoughts are? But there is still one other main possibility, fun and entertainment!"
"Even though they have power and influence they are just…just…I have it…they are simply not serios enough that it's something purely out of power hunger, hiring someone to spread rumors about me only to get rid of him anyways? Sounds more like another plan stand behind it that has to do with something else, if they would truly sense me as danger the would just me be eaten by the rumors, it must be something entertaining or fun be it, I can't imagine that it is goal focused, if its money, power or focused by some other goal, it doesn't makes sense for me!"
"It must be entertaining…"
Even though he felt great after finding out maybe already one question he also got shocked and got goosebumps because actually means they are much more terrifying than he thought.
Dong, ding, dong.
"Hmpf…for now I let this question rest for a bit, there must be a leader, for sure, one hundred percent, even though yesterday they let it seem as they are all one without a real leader, it could be a trap to confuse, beside that there are other things from where I can't reason this. Already back then I observed the council once, beside Hatsune they seemed as they wouldn't do something like this, I just think the chance is too low that the whole council seems as so kind but isn't, if we go after this theory this would also mean that the rest of the council are not in there because their free will, more because they maybe got forced to.
"The question is if this thesis is valid? But even though I already did this, I may need to observe them again, not just to find of there is a leader but more; who is it?"
"Time is short, this means I already need to start today…"
He decided to start again with Saotome, he obviously still tried to be unseen; but Saotome always saw him, twice he smiled lightly but a bit creepy to Julian and once he even waved to Julian, it seemed as Saotome already waited for Julian to observe him.
"Huff…school is over…Saotome knew from beginning on, always that I was there…is he the leader? No this would be too obvious, the leader possibly just could've informed him to always be woke and always notice me, but there are still four others to observe…"
"Tomorrow I will observe Yuuma…" He thought he was already laying halve asleep in his bed.
The next morning he sat at his window for a while before getting ready for school, even though it was already march this morning the sun rose late and it was very foggy outside, he thought about the questions left, also how he actually ended up in such a situation, after a while his father called him to get ready now.
"Sigh…Yuuma Soma, with him much started, he was the one that probably kicked me out the chess club…because of this I only got attention to the council…let's just get ready…yawn…"
This day Yuuma was spending not in his cabin in the forest, Julian also observed him the whole day, it was different then with Saotome, Saotome noticed him and didn't hide it, but Yuuma; Yuuma seemed more as he would notice Julian but tried to hide it, this kept going the whole day like this.
"Damn it! You can interpret everything in just a certain way; everything can be a strategy! Saotome not hiding it could be a strategy because maybe it would be too obvious, if you put it in the right ways everyone and everything can be suspicious!"
"Next day…I am observing the number one, Suou Hatsune, if you ask me…I don't think that she is it, but who knows maybe I am wrong or maybe I get a hint for something different?"
The next day he observed Hatsune, she didn't change at all, everything she said was like back then with a kind and gentle expression and voice, but what she said was mostly the opposite, nothing changed at all…
But even though she was maybe evil he doesn't think at all that she is the leader at all, his intuition strictly says "NO!!!" beside that the leader would probably try to hide it more and better than her.
"Mikazuki Ruri, the vice president, she isn't popular at all, this already makes her suspicious but her family is an mega rich billionaire family with extreme influence, if the leader recruited her or maybe forced her the leader had no problems with resources and power, even though she isn't popular in any way, not even in the top one thousand and five hundred, so even though she isn't popular she brings something else important, the little small nerdy introverted girl, no one would think she is it?"
"We are going to see that tomorrow…"
As he observed her, she absolutely didn't noticed a thing at all, once she looked at him in the hallway but beside that nothing, her activities were also unsuspicious, she spend most time with Uesugi Wakana, the last one to observe, they are best friends, a bit of club activity and beside that she only went in the liberty, nothing else.
"Well…Uesugi, you are the last to observe…in that time I better come to a conclusion about who my last guess is…heh…"
