Chapter 3 - chapter 1: the unwanted people.

‎Over ten years had slipped by like shadows in the moonlit forests of Kiel's domain. Kiel the formidable lycan alpha, sat on his throne, listening intently as his beta, *ash* , and the pack's venerable elder, *Patrick* discussed the delicate balance of power in their territory. The atmosphere in the grand stronghold's council chamber was thick with the scent of aged wood and simmering anticipation.

‎"Reports indicate the vampires are keeping to their lands, Alpha," ash said, his voice steady like the stone walls guarding their pack's stronghold. "No incursions into our borders for years now. The truce holds."

‎*Patrick * his weathered face lined with wisdom, nodded in agreement. "Aye, and the humans dwelling in our lands speak of peace. Even those hybrids – offspring of lycans and humans – are adapting, learning our ways, finding harmony. The mating bonds between our kind and theirs… seem to forge unexpected bridges."

‎Kiel's piercing gold eyes narrowed slightly, absorbing the words like a predator assessing shadows. "Harmony," he murmured, the word tasting like smoke on his tongue. "Tell me, has there been whisper of… Rina ?"

‎Ash exchanged a cautious glance with Patrick before speaking. "Nothing concrete, Alpha. But some say she's tied to… _the prophecy_. Rumors swirl like mist in the Darkwood."

‎Kiel jaw tightened, primal instincts flickering like fire in his gaze. "The prophecy," he repeated, voice low and dangerous.

‎

‎

‎Though *Kiel* had decreed no witches tolerated in his lands, he'd made an unspoken exception for *Rina *. She'd proven loyal amidst the chaos that had shattered his pack's stronghold – she hadn't betrayed them when darkness descended. Yet Rina had chosen isolation, living far from the pack's territory. The reason wasn't fear of Kiel's wrath; it was Kiel himself. Every time he laid eyes on her, the ghosts of the past clawed free, dragging his mood into shadowy depths. The memories were jagged – the betrayal, the bloodshed, his mother fall… Rina knew Kiel's gaze turned into a painful reminder he couldn't escape.

‎But she'd broken her solitude a year ago, appearing before Kiel with an urgency that cut through his defenses. "Alpha," she said, her voice steady despite the weight in her eyes. "I've seen a prophecy – one tied to your pack's fate." Kiel's instincts had sharpened instantly. "Speak," he'd growled.

‎Rina had spoken of visions: *unwanted people* arriving in their lands, bringing change neither Kiel and his pack . "They come bearing gifts and shadows," she said cryptically. "Prepare for what isn't welcomed." Kiel's gold irises had burned; he hadn't dismissed her words since then.

‎ (back to the present)

‎"I *brook no trespass* in the lands I claim as mine. My dominion admits the lycans of my blood and those humans who swear fealty to my rule . no others dare tread here unbidden, And mark this above all: *witches*. Their craft is a cancer I will not tolerate. Their presence is a *taint *I will excise. If any witch is sighted breaching my borders, skulking in Darkwood's shadows or stepping onto the stone streets of my stronghold's shadow, you are to *seize them*. Show *no quarter*. Grant no mercy. Drag them into the open and end their life in plain sight, that all creatures – lycan, human, vampire alike – grasp the *gravity of my decree*. Let there be no misunderstanding*: I, Kiel, alpha of this darkwood pack, do not threaten. I *command*. And my word is the blade that cuts fate itself.

‎My patience wears thin as the winter winds howling through Darkwood. I will not be played. I will not be crossed. The *witches know my mind*: incur my wrath, and they *forfeit their breath*. This is not a warning. It is my edict. It is law carved in wolf's fang and claw. Any one who defy it invite the darkness I unleash.

‎Kiel's words cut through the air like a sharp claw.

‎ *Ash* his beta, nodded low. "Yes,*Supreme Alpha*. We obey." Elders Patrick,Luca , and Liam murmured agreement.

‎Kiel's gold eyes flashed. Make sure they know – witches die on my lands." Patrick old voice growled like stones shifting. "We'll make it pack law , Alpha. We'll enforce it hard."

‎ Ash spoke crisp. "We'll watch the borders, Alpha. Any witch is swift."

‎Kiel nodded sharp. This meeting is dismiss.

‎ and they disperse quietly.
