After seven slimes joined his camp, things grew lively—and troublesome.
For example, Pyro Slime and Electro Slime. When Pyro and Electro touched, they triggered an Overloaded elemental reaction, causing a small explosion.
The blast launched Koji's shelter straight into the air.
Why was his house flying?
He almost wanted to cry. Clearly, he had to train his slimes not to bump into each other when dangerous reactions might happen.
At least Geo Slime was stable. Geo only produced Crystallize, not explosions.
Still, a house had to be rebuilt. Sleeping under the open sky forever wasn't an option.
Even if small slimes weren't powerful attackers, their elemental immunities were handy.
When he eventually reached Inazuma, with his Electro Slime at his side, could the Raiden Shogun's Musou no Hitotachi even break through?
Of course, that was just game logic.
In reality, the Raiden Shogun was an Archon. No way her power could be shrugged off by a slime. Gods weren't limited to elemental force.
He wasn't planning to go to Inazuma anytime soon. But it was worth training the Electro Slime. What if, someday, it really could block Musou no Hitotachi?
Ei would probably throw a fit.
Half a day later, he finished building another shelter. With experience, this one was sturdier and more comfortable than the first.
…
Starfell Lake. At its center stood a small island, where a Statue of The Seven rose tall.
Koji stood at the shore. He had been in Teyvat for days, but this was his first time seeing a statue.
He swam over, just as in the game.
"Now that I think about it, doesn't this statue look a lot like Venti? Aside from Jean and a few others, nobody notices?" he murmured.
Few doubted Venti's identity. Who would link that drunk to Barbatos?
In Mondstadt's lore, the Anemo Archon was described as holy, powerful, and benevolent.
Such an image was carved deep into every Mondstadter's heart. Without knowing Barbatos personally, no one would suspect Venti.
"Forget it. That drunk has nothing to do with me. Time for business."
Koji reached out. Would he gain elemental power?
He wasn't sure if he had the same gift as the Traveler twins, who could use elements without Visions. But it was the only way to try.
Getting a Vision was another path—but not everyone caught a god's eye.
If he could use elements like the Traveler, he wouldn't have to worry about dying so easily.
Whoosh—
Wind whispered. Pure Anemo energy surged from the statue into his body.
As long as you do not lose your nobility, the world shall open to you.
"So this is Anemo power?"
He opened his eyes. Like the Traveler, he could wield elements without a Vision.
And then, strange panels appeared in his mind.
Blessings.
[Beastmaster's Blessing: Greatly increases other creatures' affection toward you.]
[Anemo Blessing: Perfect control of Anemo energy.]
[Element Resistance Blessing: Immunity to harmful elemental damage.]
"!!!"
He finally understood. He had blessings on his side. Ridiculous ones.
He remembered someone with similar powers: Reinhard, famed as a walking cheat code.
He might be the same. Invincible.
Once Koji, now… Koji "Sun-invincible."
Cough. Keep it low-key.
Blessings needed careful study. He had thought he lacked a cheat. Turns out, he had one beyond belief.
His heart raced.
With blessings, death was no longer looming.
Thrown into another world, of course he didn't want to die early.
The Beastmaster's Blessing explained why slimes followed him.
The Element Resistance Blessing explained why the Electro Slime's attack hadn't harmed him—just a tingle. Back then, it must not have awakened yet.
This blessing was crucial. Teyvat's battles revolved around elements.
He wanted to see if Raiden's Musou no Hitotachi could be blocked.
The Anemo Blessing…
He opened his palm. Wind gathered, shaped easily at his will—even into the form of an Anemo Slime.
"Take this!"
Boom!
A compressed wind orb blasted into Starfell Lake. Water erupted. Fish floated belly-up.
A small test, but enough. He wasn't helpless anymore.
Before, he had relied on stone traps to kill boars. Now he could fight directly.
Still, he had to be careful. No showing off like certain reckless girls.
Back at camp, lying by the fire, he felt a new sense of hope.
Teyvat was harsher than the game.
The Abyss threatened the whole world.
In a game, disasters meant scripted losses. Here, they meant real casualties.
Mondstadt's Dragon Calamity, Osial's attack on Liyue Harbor, Inazuma's civil war…
Each disaster brought death.
Boom!
Suddenly, Hydro Slime rolled into Dendro Slime. A Dendro Core formed. Pyro Slime bumped into it.
Chain reaction—Bloom, then Burgeon. Explosion.
Koji was safe thanks to his blessing. His house? Blown into the sky.
Again.
Elemental reactions were dangerous indeed.
He hadn't even gotten used to that house before it was gone.
Training the slimes had to start soon. If this happened in Mondstadt while renting, it wouldn't be "rent." It would be "massive compensation."
