Chapter 89 - Chapter 89: Raiden Ei Has No Mora

"Question: What does Raiden Ei's thigh feel like?"

Answer: Soft, firm, perfectly toned. The thigh-high socks add the finishing touch.

Koji rested his head on Raiden Ei's lap, enjoying the warmth of her knee pillow.

In all the world, he was probably the only one who could enjoy such a thing.

Raiden Ei's face was expressionless. She told herself this was just to thank him for reviving her.

"Yae Miko, I didn't expect to see you in this form again," Raiden Ei said flatly, yet her tone carried faint irritation.

Back in the day, she had once used Miko as a "hand warmer." The thought embarrassed her.

"You think I like turning into a little fox?" Yae Miko grumbled.

Koji's fingers moved skillfully; his touch was comfortable enough to make her relax completely.

Even Raiden Makoto's massages in the old days couldn't compare.

Miko's tail flicked. This is bad. I'm going to fall for it.

"Koji, let me touch the little fox too," Lumine said enviously.

"Sure."

Koji simply tossed the pink-haired fox to her. The motion made Yae Miko roll her eyes so hard they nearly flipped white.

Whatever. A promise is a promise.

"Hey! Idiot! You're stroking me backwards!" Miko shouted.

Lumine's technique was terrible—petting against the fur instead of along it. Even cats aren't handled that way.

The others, including Eula, couldn't hide their curiosity. Who could resist a fluffy, adorable fox?

Raiden Ei had been forced out of Tenshukaku by Raiden Makoto for some fresh air. After being cooped up for so many years, she was told to go see the world again.

"Inazuma has changed quite a lot," Ei murmured.

As she stepped into the city streets, she looked almost like a country girl seeing the metropolis for the first time. Everything seemed new and fascinating.

People who recognized her froze in place. The Shogun herself, walking in public—it was something they'd never seen. Terrified, they bowed and cleared the way.

"They seem afraid of me," Ei said quietly.

"You're a god," Koji replied lazily, hands behind his head. "How could mortals not fear your authority?"

His eyes reflected distant memories and warmth. The Radiance of the Raiden Shogun—no ordinary person could ever reach it.

The Vision Hunt Decree had shaken Inazuma to its core. The fear of her power still lingered.

Ei sighed. She knew now that her understanding of "eternity" had been wrong.

"What's that?"

She stopped at a small stall, eyes drawn to a colorful drink.

"G-General!" The vendor froze as he recognized her face. A god was speaking to him—his voice trembled.

"No need to be afraid. I'm just out for a walk," Ei said helplessly. Do I really look that scary?

"General, this is something I've been experimenting with—Dango Milk. If you'd like, please try some."

Ei nodded, took a bottle, and sipped. Her violet eyes lit up. "Sweet and smooth. The taste is delightful."

The sticky dango blended with milk created a pleasant, thick flavor. Ei was impressed.

The vendor nearly burst with joy. Being praised by the Raiden Shogun herself? This was the chance of a lifetime.

If the Raiden Shogun liked Dango Milk, his stall would become famous across all Inazuma.

"I'm glad you enjoy it, General!"

Onlookers whispered enviously. A divine endorsement—nothing could top that.

"Ei, did you bring any Mora?" Koji asked with a grin.

"Mora?"

Ei blinked. She knew the term but had never handled it herself. Naturally, she didn't carry any.

Koji fought back a laugh. "As expected of a god—goes shopping without money."

"General, there's no need," the vendor stammered. "Your praise alone is worth more than any payment."

He didn't dare take her money. With the Raiden Shogun's blessing, wealth would follow on its own.

"Put it on the Tenshukaku account," Ei said seriously.

She couldn't just take it for free, but she had no coins either.

Koji sighed. "So even gods run tabs, huh…"

The vendor's face twitched. Who's going to march up to Tenshukaku over one bottle of Dango Milk?

"Yes, General," he said, though he had no intention of ever collecting. He was already rich in fame.

After all, anything endorsed by the Raiden Shogun would dominate the market.

They continued down the street. The only other things that caught Ei's interest were the sweets—and the light novels.

"Is this Yae Miko's shop?" Ei asked, pausing before Yae Publishing House.

"G-General?!" cried Kuroda, the editor. His face went pale.

Some of their books weren't exactly respectful toward the Shogun. If she saw them, he was finished.

"I'll take 'Reborn as the Raiden Shogun—Now I'm Invincible!'" Koji said cheerfully.

Kuroda nearly fainted.

Who would've thought the Shogun herself would drop by incognito?

"Reborn as me?" Ei frowned. "But I'm not invincible. I can't even beat that martial god from Liyue—Morax."

"It's just fiction," Koji said, smiling. "For ordinary people, having your power is invincibility."

Ei nodded thoughtfully. To mortals, a god's strength was indeed another dimension.

"Then I'll take it." She seemed genuinely curious about what the book contained.

Kuroda trembled as he handed it over. Whatever happened next, it would be Miko's problem, not his.

He couldn't possibly handle the Shogun's wrath alone.

"Charge it to Tenshukaku," Ei added, already fluent in her new shopping method.

Kuroda wiped the sweat from his brow and nodded frantically. Of course he wouldn't go to claim it.
