Chapter 52 - Chapter 52 Life

The Initial Fire Pit. At this moment, the Four Gods were huddled together, shivering by the bonfire.

Across from them was Yu Jin, who had just ventured out of the Initial Fire Pit and into the world beyond.

Yu Jin's armor was covered in bloodstains and chunks of flesh. Viscous blood plasma hung in strands from his armor, not yet falling to the ground.

He had just emerged from the mountains of corpses and seas of blood he had created.

"The four of you did well." Yu Jin sat cross-legged by the bonfire, extending his hands to warm them. Under the scorching flames, the bloodstains and chunks of flesh turned to ash, dissipating to who knows where.

"You didn't help them when they were messing around, which shows my kindness to you wasn't in vain." Yu Jin smiled, looking at the four figures opposite him, who resembled quails.

"It smells awful, doesn't it? Actually, I didn't want it to be this way, but unfortunately, they are pure madmen who want to escape whenever they get the chance." Yu Jin scratched his head, saying with some helplessness.

You Sui and the others saw that Yu Jin seemed to have returned to normal, and they couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, their hunched bodies relaxing.

Yu Jin's state was terrifying; even You Sui had only witnessed it a few times.

"Heh heh, since you don't want to talk to me, I'll just leave." Yu Jin watched the Four Gods for a while, then yawned, feeling bored.

Every time, he could quickly emerge from such a state, but the people around him couldn't. Of course, there weren't many living people who had seen him in that state anyway.

Soon, Yu Jin's figure disappeared from the Initial Fire Pit. You Sui and the others, seeing Yu Jin completely gone, were finally relieved.

Yu Jin's aura just now was so strong that it almost suffocated them. Unfortunately, this power could only be used for slaughter, and Yu Jin disliked it greatly.

"Let's go, want to see what's outside?" You Sui suggested. He enjoyed seeing suffering. The Frenzied Flame and rot were the same. As for the First Flame? He was a fool, and a fool must follow the boss.

And so, the four millennia-old recluses (?) ran to the outskirts of the Initial Fire Pit.

The original Initial Fire Pit was located at the center of the world, and it was also the highest point in the world. Within Yu Jin's body, this was perfectly rerun.

The world outside the Initial Fire Pit was a wasteland, with only a narrow, winding path leading to the Initial Fire Pit, which stood at the peak of the world.

You Sui and the others stood at the periphery of the Initial Fire Pit, looking down at the world filled with blood and flesh.

Those who were melted into slag by the fire would be banished outside the Initial Fire Pit with their pure malice.

The darkest and ugliest parts of humanity settled down to become You Sui. Because of their purity, they could aggregate together, eventually forming the single consciousness of You Sui.

And those outside the Fire Pit were the manifest, purposeful malice Yu Jin had encountered. Madmen are all different, so they each have their own ideas, and thus cannot form a unified consciousness like You Sui.

"Tsk, how miserable. This is even more miserable than the Undead of the Undead Settlement being hammered into a paste." You Sui looked at the wriggling chunks of flesh trying to aggregate, remarking with a sneer.

He had always looked down on these guys; being evil was one thing, but they were also incredibly stupid. They were completely different from a bad and clever villain like himself... Yu Jin opened his eyes, looked at the two grave mounds before him, and sighed again. He was still a bit weak; just pulling Joseph out shortly after his death was already somewhat strenuous.

Coupled with the group of idiots causing trouble inside him, Joseph had died directly. But fortunately, his soul was absorbed by time, avoiding the fate of being corrupted.

"Alas, the boundary between life and death is difficult." Yu Jin only sighed for a moment before he stopped feeling sad. Bringing back someone who had completely died could be said to be the most difficult thing in the world.

Of course, if there were any lingering souls or the like, it would be much easier.

But fortunately, Joel's "father" did return, which was a marginally acceptable outcome.

"Oh no, how many days have passed?" Yu Jin looked at the light filtering into the cave, and a bad feeling suddenly arose in his heart.

My commissions!!!

Yu Jin bolted down the mountain, past the snowstorm and the camp, rushing towards Mondstadt City.

Now, he only thought of the commission, not even caring about the increased number of monsters on the way—they were all sent flying by Yu Jin anyway.

Kicking up dust all the way, Yu Jin arrived at the Adventurers' Guild in a flurry.

"To the stars and the abyss!" Seeing Yu Jin arrive, Katheryne still maintained her usual demeanor.

"Katheryne, has the time for my escort caravan commission passed?" Yu Jin leaned on the counter, asking anxiously. The last time he did this was when he mistakenly thought You Sui had escaped.

"Hmm, the commission time hasn't passed. The caravan is scheduled to depart this afternoon." Although curious as to why Yu Jin asked, Katheryne still told him truthfully.

Then Katheryne turned and took out a pouch of Mora, saying to Yu Jin, "Mr. Yu Jin, this is the Reward for the last Dragonspine commission. Please check if the amount is correct."

"Oh, how embarrassing is this?" Although Yu Jin said this, Katheryne hadn't even clearly seen Yu Jin's movements before the Mora in her hand was already at Yu Jin's waist.

Yu Jin, ever the money-grubber, opened it and saw a full 200,000! He had thought he wouldn't get this money, but unexpectedly, the amount he received was 50,000 more than anticipated!

Today was truly a double blessing!

Yu Jin visibly radiated happiness. Under the influence of this aura, even Katheryne started smiling.

However, Yu Jin quickly stopped being happy, because he remembered the life he had created on Dragonspine.

Even Yu Jin himself didn't know what it was. At the time, he just watched, and then Joseph stood up again from the lump of flesh.

"Hiss—" Yu Jin felt a toothache, because based on past experience, if such a life was not guided, every single one of them would become a terrorist!

"No, I must prepare some ideological education for him." Yu Jin didn't want the life he created to go astray, so he decided to visit Joel's house.

Yu Jin acted on whatever he thought of. During his days living in Mondstadt, he had memorized everyone and everything in Mondstadt City, and now it was time for them to be put to use.

"Bang bang bang!" Yu Jin quickly arrived at Joel's house and knocked on the door.

"Coming!" Not long after, Joel skipped to open the door. As soon as he saw Yu Jin, he showed an excited expression.

"Dad, the uncle who saved you is here!" Joel was very excited. He ran back into the house and pulled Joseph out.

He looked exactly like the Joseph Yu Jin had seen in time. Yu Jin glanced at him and found that he couldn't discern any difference.

"Yu Jin." Seeing Joseph's excited look, Yu Jin quickly spoke first.

"Joel, a distinguished guest has arrived. Go buy some good wine; we'll have something nice tonight." Joseph handed Joel a pouch of Mora, stroking his head as he spoke.

"Oh! There's good food tonight!" Joel excitedly snatched the Mora and ran out the door like a flash. Whenever Joseph asked him to buy wine, it meant he would have good food tonight.

Seeing Joel's figure disappear from sight, Joseph immediately knelt on one knee, but before he could fully kneel, Yu Jin pulled him up.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, don't do that. You don't need to kneel to anyone." Yu Jin pulled Joseph up, saying hastily.

"My Father, is there something you need from me?" Joseph stopped kneeling after hearing Yu Jin's words.

"Call me Yu Jin. I don't need anything. I just came to see how your life is." Yu Jin corrected his address, then asked, as he was afraid Joseph wouldn't adapt to normal life.

"Okay, Yu Jin. My life is very good. I love Joel, and Joel loves me too." Joseph answered Yu Jin with a smile.

"Oh no!" Yu Jin clutched his forehead. This guy seemed to accept and execute everything he was told.

Such individuals were the most terrifying; with just a slight oversight, they could grow into something formidable.

Yu Jin looked at the smiling Joseph, thought for a moment, and then deliberated:

"You are the first life I created in this world. Do you have too many questions? I understand. Many of these are things I cannot answer myself, so I can only offer some small suggestions."

"Think more about the meaning of existence beyond me. If you have questions, don't dwell on them alone; talk to me more. If you don't like this identity, you can also leave."

"Think more, do more. I created you, and I will bear everything for you. Finally, one more thing: I would be very happy if you could walk towards the light."
