Chapter 137 - Chapter 137: A Conspiracy? Not a Chance!

In front of the Knights of Favonius headquarters, Yu Jin was waiting for Kaeya and Eula, who had gone inside to look up information.

"Creak!" Soon, the main door of the Knights of Favonius headquarters opened. Kaeya and Eula walked out, their faces solemn.

"How was it?" Yu Jin took a step forward. Seeing how serious they both looked, could there really be a conspiracy?

"Nothing at all." Kaeya shook his head, then added, "I even specifically contacted my informant just now, and he didn't find anything either."

At this point, Kaeya's expression deepened a few shades. The fact that the traces were swept so clean was, in itself, an anomaly.

"I'm going to my family to see if there are any clues." Eula nodded to Kaeya. Matters concerning the Fatui couldn't be taken lightly.

"Alright, I'll go back to the ruins again to see if there's anything we missed." Kaeya pondered for a moment, thinking the ruins might be a breakthrough.

At the time, the three of them were escorting a dozen people, plus a 'corpse' Schubert, so they didn't have time to conduct a more thorough search of the ruins.

The breakthrough must be there! The more Kaeya thought about it, the more reasonable it seemed, and his visible eye began to brighten.

Watching Kaeya and Eula chat animatedly, Yu Jin whispered,

"I'm saying, is there a possibility that they were just trying to scam money?"

"Impossible!" × 2.

Eula and Kaeya simultaneously turned their heads to look at Yu Jin, stating unequivocally.

"Yu Jin, you've had little contact with the Fatui, so you don't understand them. They always have deeper intentions behind everything they do." Kaeya shook his head. The Fatui's actions were always interconnected.

This "scamming money" operation of theirs must be part of the Fatui's conspiracy.

"Moreover, the Fatui couldn't possibly be short on Mora." Eula also added. As the Reconnaissance Captain, she had dealt with the Fatui in the wild outside the city quite a bit.

She even envied the supplies those guys had. Such an organization couldn't possibly resort to fraud for Mora.

[Actually, I've had a lot of contact with the Fatui.] Yu Jin retorted in his mind. Calling it 'contact' was a bit of an embellishment; it should be 'causing trouble'.

However, seeing Kaeya and Eula speak so earnestly, Yu Jin felt a little guilty. As a member of the Mondstadt Adventurers' Guild, he felt he should also contribute.

"Okay, I'll go ask the Damselette right away!" Yu Jin patted his chest, confidently stating.

"???" Kaeya and Eula were full of question marks.

"Are you very familiar with the Damselette?" Kaeya looked at Yu Jin in surprise. He hadn't heard that he was close to the Fatui?

"Not familiar." Yu Jin shook his head. Then he swung his fist and explained, "But I'm strong, aren't I? If she doesn't talk, I'll let her know what a sandbag-sized fist feels like!"

This statement caused a moment of silence between Kaeya and Eula. After a long while, Kaeya finally sighed, "Ah, I almost forgot your strength. With your power, I suppose no conspiracy would work against you."

After speaking, Kaeya looked at Yu Jin, who was gesturing in front of Eula, with a somewhat complex expression. If he had such strength, the burden on him probably wouldn't be so heavy.

"The Damselette is a Fatui Harbinger. Can you beat her?" Eula looked at Yu Jin with some doubt. Her knowledge of Yu Jin's strength was only based on rumors.

And those were rumors of him entering the Dark Sea and returning safely. To be honest, how dangerous the Dark Sea was, was all hearsay, far less impactful than the pressure brought by a Harbinger.

Harbingers could sometimes be seen, but the Dark Sea was a place no one had ever been to.

So, Eula didn't have a concrete grasp of the dangers there, which explained her doubts.

"Heh heh, speaking of which, this is your first formal meeting. Yu Jin's strength is very great, stronger than you imagine!" Kaeya reacted at this moment, stepping forward and saying to Eula.

Kaeya had witnessed Yu Jin's strength. If defeating a Dottore clone was nothing.

Then the large expanse of still-unmelted Frozen land in the Whispering Woods was enough to prove his strength.

"Is that so?" Eula glanced at Yu Jin, then smiled, "Looks like I've made a great enemy!"

"Do you want to make me suffer a setback when I get my revenge? I've noted this grudge!" Eula pointed at Yu Jin, seemingly very excited.

After hearing Eula's words, Yu Jin had no reaction. Because he had long since taken Eula's words in reverse; what a troublesome fellow.

"Alright, the Sky is getting dark, a perfect time to officially infiltrate enemy territory!" Yu Jin looked at the dim Sky; it was about to get dark, which would make his actions easier.

With that, Yu Jin left the Knights of Favonius headquarters in a hurry.

"Are we still investigating?" Eula glanced at Yu Jin, who was now just a receding figure, and asked.

"What do you think?" Kaeya shook his head, then waved to Eula and said, "Today is a good day without overtime. You haven't been in the city for a long time either. Try having a drink and relaxing."

After speaking, Kaeya yawned and left. When he wasn't working, he always looked so lazy.

"Have a drink?" Eula murmured, but she quickly shook her head. Compared to that, seeing Amber was more important!

Amber, I'm coming!

Thinking this, Eula naturally ran off in a pose identical to Yu Jin's… That night, the Damselette was still working at her desk.

Many things had happened recently in Snezhnaya, and various messages fluttered like snowflakes onto the Damselette's desk. To keep abreast of the situation in the rear, the Damselette never dared to neglect these intelligence reports.

Closing the folder, the Damselette stood up and stretched, her beautiful curves outlined. She walked to the window, gazing into the distance.

A few days ago, Snezhnaya was attacked, and three Harbingers were severely injured. This was the first time such a situation had occurred since the Fatui's inception.

However, none of this was what she cared about most. What did it matter to her whether those Harbingers lived or died? She only cared about the information her subordinates had collected regarding Young Wolf Rostam.

Young Wolf Rostam, the shadow of Lion of Light Arundolyn five hundred years ago. He was also the founder of the Favonius Bladework practiced by the Knights of Favonius today.

Besides these, it also recorded a Damselette, a Damselette who loved to sing. It was rumored that Young Wolf Rostam would always stand in front of the plaza and listen to the Damselette's singing when he was tired.

"Ah~, cough… cough cough!" The Damselette, on a whim, hummed a few lines, but she hadn't sung for too long and, as expected, was off-key.

She quickly shook her head, cutting off her singing. What was wrong with her? Dealing with Fatui affairs was more important.

"Clap clap clap!" A loud applause sounded, and Yu Jin's figure appeared, "Sing? I think it's pretty good, why did you stop?"

The Damselette uncharacteristically showed a hint of embarrassment, but she quickly concealed it. She swiftly widened the distance between herself and Yu Jin, warning,

"What are you doing here? I haven't provoked you recently!"

"Speak! What conspiracy do you have recently? Confess truthfully!" Yu Jin had no sense of being an intruder and spoke even louder than the Damselette.

"What conspiracy? None! Our people have all been in a state of silence recently." The Damselette frowned. She was currently racking her brains on how to seize the Anemo Gnosis; how could she have time for conspiracies?

Of course, seizing the Gnosis could, to some extent, also be called a conspiracy.

"Then how did you scam so much Mora recently? You must be planning something big!" Yu Jin recalled the Mora vouchers in Schubert's briefcase. Such a large sum could accomplish many things.

"Scamming money? When did the Fatui ever need to scam money?" The Damselette snorted. Scamming money was impossible; at most, it was the Treasure Hoarders who scammed, and the Fatui merely "intercepted" it.

She would deny it to her dying breath; she had her pride!

Yu Jin looked at the Damselette. From her eyes, Yu Jin saw deception, so he pulled out a huge stick and said to the Damselette, "Your ideological assessment is not up to standard. It seems you want to try the personality correction stick!"

The Damselette looked at the large wooden stick in Yu Jin's hand, which was taller than a person, and her scalp tingled. This reminded her of unpleasant memories—the memory of being pressed down in the small forest and severely beaten by Yu Jin.

She took a deep breath and forced a stiff smile at Yu Jin, saying, "I can't help it, one has to eat, you know."
