"Hey, Lawrence, why are there two red flashes in the Sky?!" Swan rubbed his eyes and looked up.
As Mondstadt's first line of defense, he and Lawrence were supposed to prevent any potential threats!
In reality, it was just guarding the gate for eons; this job never changed year-round.
"Hmm… maybe a Hilichurl holding a torch got blown up by a Pyro Slime?" Lawrence looked at the flying flashes in the Sky and said with some uncertainty.
But it was more like a joke. In Teyvat, flying monsters were extremely rare. Specifically in Mondstadt, there wasn't even one.
So, neither Lawrence nor Swan paid any mind to the red light. It must be another strange atmospheric phenomenon.
"See, the red light is gone now." Lawrence looked at the Sky; besides the scattered starlight and the bright moon, there was no other light.
Swan didn't say anything. He looked at the spot where the red light had just disappeared. It seemed to be within Mondstadt City?
…"Ah—I'm going to fall to my death!" Paimon flew in the air, her two hands tightly clutching Lumine's head, trying to pull her up.
But obviously, her efforts were useless. Lumine was still falling rapidly.
"Paimon, did you forget something?" Lumine, in the midst of her descent, showed no panic and instead asked Paimon.
"What—" Paimon snapped back to attention. She had been too focused just now and hadn't heard what Lumine said clearly.
"I have a Wind Glider! You dummy!" Lumine shouted with a laugh, then spread her Wind Glider and slowly floated downwards.
"Huh?" Paimon looked at the Wind Glider billowing behind Lumine, a little stunned. Oh right, Lumine often used her Wind Glider during her Adventures, why did she forget?
It must be from spending too much time with Yu Jin!
Paimon very naturally attributed the source to Yu Jin, who was also floating not far away, completely ignoring her own problem.
"Senior, see you in a few days!" Lumine overlooked Mondstadt from the Sky and quickly found her residence.
She subtly twisted her waist, and her body drifted towards the direction of her home.
"Goodbye!" Yu Jin also waved at Lumine, bidding her farewell.
Then he looked at Lanssangx, who had transformed into a half-human, half-beast form beside him, and said, "Let's go. I'll show you my residence in this city. If nothing unexpected happens, it will also be your residence from now on."
"Oh? Then I'll have to take a good look. I'm very interested in the King's taste." Lanssangx flapped her shrunken dragon wings behind her, and curiosity showed in her golden vertical eyes.
Yu Jin paused when he heard Lanssangx's words. He remembered the few people who had visited his house before; none of them seemed to have given it a good review.
"Let me warn you first, you'll be disappointed." Yu Jin turned back to prepare Lanssangx, lest she be too shocked later.
There were no watchtowers in Mondstadt City, nor were there searchlights like in Snezhnaya, so naturally, they couldn't spot Yu Jin and Lanssangx flying down from the Sky.
Landing precisely in the courtyard, Yu Jin led Lanssangx, who had retracted her dragon wings, leaving only a pair of dragon horns, into the house.
As Yu Jin expected, Lanssangx fell silent upon seeing the minimalist decor inside.
After a long while, she finally spoke, "My King, if we're short on Mora, I can pull off a few of my dragon scales."
The scales of the Ancient Dragon race, when polished, were excellent forging stones. Even if the world was different, this kind of "hard currency" should still fetch a good price.
"I do have some Mora." Yu Jin said, pulling out a bag of glittering Mora.
"So, you just genuinely have no taste?" Lanssangx quipped. She had already secretly decided that she would decorate Yu Jin's house properly!
"What is taste? Can it be eaten?" Yu Jin smacked his lips, saying nonchalantly.
Lanssangx covered her face upon hearing this; it truly was a distinctive remark. But soon, she didn't care about these matters anymore, because she had something more important to do.
Lanssangx approached Yu Jin and held out her hand, palm open. In the center of her palm was a gilded ring.
Spirit-Steed Whistle—A golden ring emitting a soft glow, usable as a whistle.
Can summon the Spirit-Steed, Torrent, for mounted travel. Using it while mounted will dismount you.
"Whoosh—" Lanssangx suddenly saw a dazzling bright light emanate from the gap in Yu Jin's helmet.
A blur flashed, and before Lanssangx could see anything clearly, she realized the Spirit-Steed Whistle in her hand was gone.
She looked up, and sure enough, Yu Jin was holding the Spirit-Steed Whistle, examining it carefully.
"Spirit-Steed Whistle? You brought Torrent!" Although that's what he said, Yu Jin's tone was incredibly certain.
He and Torrent had faced life and death together, traversing the entire Lands Between; he couldn't possibly mistake Torrent's aura.
"My King, you overestimate me. Melina asked me to bring it. She truly cares about you." Lanssangx watched Yu Jin holding the Spirit-Steed Whistle like a child, looking left and right, and couldn't help but twitch her lips.
She was now starting to worry if Yu Jin had actually heard what she said.
Fortunately, she worried too much. Yu Jin's carefree nature had its limits. He put the Spirit-Steed Whistle on his finger and said with a slight sigh:
"Is that so? That certainly fits her personality. When she comes, I'll thank her personally." Yu Jin recalled Melina's personality, understanding in his heart.
Beneath Melina's serene exterior was a personality that could be called twisted. She could become a complete "block of wood" for her duties, saying nothing and doing nothing.
It was quite impressive that she said nothing but Marika's proverbs the entire way from the Weeping Peninsula to the Mountaintops of the Giants as Yu Jin slaughtered his way through.
But that was all in the past. Anyway, when Melina saw Yu Jin burn the Golden Tree without a witch, Yu Jin wished he could stuff a few eggs into her wide-open mouth.
"Oh, so this mouth *can* open? Then why were you like a mute the whole way?" That was Yu Jin's thought at the time.
Shaking his head to clear the memories, Yu Jin brought the hand with the Spirit-Steed Whistle on his finger to his lips.
"Whoosh—" A sharp, loud whistle sounded, and Yu Jin immediately felt a lift beneath him.
With this buoyancy, he lightly leaped, and a Spirit-Steed materialized from the space beneath him.
Though it was a Spirit-Steed, it had a pair of horns on its head. This was Yu Jin's mount—the true, ox-horse, Torrent!
"Hee-haw!" Torrent was also incredibly excited to see Yu Jin again, its eager panting constantly coming from its mouth.
"Hahaha!" Yu Jin rode on Torrent, and that long-lost sense of freedom returned to him. He now wished he could go for a ride immediately.
"My King, a reminder, it's late at night now." Lanssangx saw Yu Jin and Torrent's eager appearance and spoke to remind him.
Torrent's mobility was terrifying; coupled with Yu Jin, they could probably reach some remote corner of the world in the blink of an eye.
At that point, she would just have to obediently stay in Mondstadt and wait for Yu Jin to come back for her, which was something Lanssangx didn't want to see.
"I know! I won't run, but jumping is okay, right?!" Yu Jin loosened his grip on the reins. Were his thoughts really that obvious?
Lanssangx took a few steps back after hearing this, signaling Yu Jin that he could start. Anyway, it was nighttime, and the city's lights weren't that bright, so a jump wouldn't cause much trouble.
"Ready!" Yu Jin lowered his center of gravity, and Torrent beneath him also noticed Yu Jin's change, so it began to gather strength in its hind legs.
"Whoosh!" Torrent finished charging and leaped high into the Sky. This jump it could originally only use where there was an updraft, but now there were no restrictions.
Mondstadt City in Yu Jin's eyes grew smaller and smaller, but he was not satisfied yet.
"Torrent, show off your specialty!"
"Hiss—" Torrent let out a long neigh, and then several light blue phantoms appeared beneath its feet. Although they were phantoms, Torrent could directly step on them.
It leaped again with great effort, jumping even higher. This was Torrent's special skill—the double jump!
Yu Jin looked down again, and by now, Mondstadt was just a speck of light.
