Chapter 24 - Chapter 24

"I should stay," Ran said.

"What are you staying for?" Sonoko grabbed Ran's hand and pulled her over, "You can't help much here…"

"But…"

"Besides, look at Shinichi."

Sonoko pointed to Shinichi Kudo, who was still investigating inside the crime scene, her tone very dissatisfied, "He's concentrating on catching the culprit… Besides, you know Shinichi. Once he starts investigating a case, he even forgets to eat."

Sonoko knew exactly what Ran was thinking.

If she let her stay, she would definitely sit here waiting for Shinichi to solve the case, and no one knows when the case will be solved.

Shinichi doesn't care about Ran, but she does.

So Sonoko wouldn't let Ran stay here foolishly waiting for Shinichi.

Ran also understood Sonoko's thoughts. After a moment of silence, she still chose to leave with Sonoko, but she said, "At least I should tell Shinichi, right?"

Sonoko didn't let go of Ran's hand and said, "I'll go with you…"

However, when the two wanted to enter the crime scene, they were stopped by the auxiliary police maintaining order. They didn't recognize Ran, so they acted according to the regulations and said, "No unauthorized personnel are allowed inside."

Ran said, "We are Shinichi's… that high school student's friends. We just want to go in and say a word to him, and then we'll leave."

The auxiliary police hesitated for a moment, then shook his head firmly, still refusing to let them through.

What if he let irrelevant people into the scene and got his salary deducted? Would you compensate me?

Ran wanted to say something, but Sonoko pulled her away and said, "They're just following the rules, don't make things difficult for them… Don't you have Shinichi's phone number? Just give him a call, right?"

Ran had no choice but to take out her phone. After hesitating for a moment, she decided to send a text message, worried about interfering with Shinichi's reasoning, "A text message is fine… He can read it whenever he's free."

After Ran sent the text message, the three of them left the art museum.

Before leaving, Lin Yi looked back at Shinichi Kudo, who was still seriously solving the case, smiled, and said, "Have fun."

… … … … … …

Shinichi Kudo, who was immersed in the murder case and couldn't extricate himself, was completely unaware of the departure of the three. He was now looking for clues left at the scene.

As long as these fragmented clues can be combined in the correct way, the crime scene can be restored, which will be of great help in finding the murderer and solving the case!

This is similar to the principle of a jigsaw puzzle, except that Shinichi has to investigate every suspicious place to avoid missing some "puzzle pieces", which would lead to the inability to piece together the correct picture.

Too unreasonable, too strange!

The victim left a dying message of "Kubota" before his death, but why was the tip of the pen found on the ground retracted?

Why did the murderer kill the deceased according to the mural "Divine Punishment"?

Do they have a great hatred between them?

There are cameras in the gallery, why did the murderer choose to commit the crime here? The art museum is spacious, and there are clearly many places that are more suitable for starting.

… … …

A large number of questions appeared in Shinichi's mind.

Shinichi knew that as long as he could solve these problems one by one, he would not be far from the truth of this murder case!

After thinking so much, Shinichi's head hurt a little. He paused for a moment to let himself relax.

Looking at the onlookers outside the crime scene, Shinichi didn't see Ran and the others, which made him stunned.

For some reason, Shinichi always had a bad feeling.

So, he came out of the crime scene and looked around, but found that he couldn't see any trace of the three of them.

Shinichi was very puzzled. He took out his phone to call Ran, but found that his phone had received a text message from Ran at some point!

This was a text message from half an hour ago. He opened the text message and his face changed.

[Shinichi, Sonoko, and I are going to rest at a nearby coffee shop. Come find us after you find the murderer!]

"Go… went to drink coffee?"

Shinichi's hand holding the phone trembled angrily.

He was still planning to show off in front of that transfer student, but the person left? And took Sonoko and Ran to drink coffee? Who was he showing it to?

Thinking that he was racking his brains to solve the case, while that transfer student was leisurely drinking coffee and eating desserts with Ran and Sonoko, Shinichi felt very uncomfortable, and the taste of lemon sourness emerged.

"This despicable guy! He actually used such a shameful method!"

Without thinking, Shinichi knew that this was definitely the idea of that transfer student. Ran and Sonoko would not leave him behind!

"Hey, Kudo, the surveillance video has been retrieved. Do you want to go and watch it together?" Inspector Megure called out to Shinichi from afar.

"Yes!"

Shinichi replied, putting his phone back in his pocket indignantly, and quickly ran towards Inspector Megure. He had already decided to solve the case as quickly as possible, and then rush to the coffee shop!

Chapter 25

Inside a coffee shop near the art museum.

Lin Yi, Ran, and Sonoko sat opposite each other.

The table was already full of drinks and desserts. Ran took a sip of kiwi juice, propped her chin on her hand, looked at the wall clock, and muttered, "I don't know when Shinichi will come…"

"Although Shinichi is amazing, he's not Sherlock Holmes after all. How could he find the murderer so quickly!"

Having waited for half an hour, Sonoko was obviously a little impatient. They had planned to go shopping after seeing the art museum, but now they had to wait for Shinichi in the coffee shop!

Shinichi is just a detective, not a criminal police officer. Why does he always drill into the crime scene? Does he think that the police can't solve the case without him?

Sonoko muttered to herself.

Lin Yi silently took a sip of coffee, agreeing with Sonoko's words—Shinichi couldn't possibly find the murderer so quickly.

He bumped into Curator Ochiai earlier. With the skill bonus of being dexterous, his right hand skillfully took away the pen from Curator Ochiai's chest pocket.

As I said before, Lin Yi had repeatedly watched the art museum murder case many times.

He knew the direction of this murder case very well.

In the end, Conan caught Curator Ochiai by using this pen that couldn't write.
