"That's not necessary!"
Leon told her not to ruin his good fortune.
The riddler was finally being forthcoming for once; the truth was within reach.
He could only say, charge!
Crack!
Before Herta could forcibly eject him, Fuli's body suddenly shattered. Ice crystals of varying sizes, flashing with white and blue light, devoured Leon's data!
"Hey!"
Herta's virtual form tried to intervene, but even with the highest authority in the Simulated Universe, she couldn't make Leon's data flow back.
Herta Space Station.
"This is trouble..."
Herta frowned, seeing that Leon hadn't returned to reality.
Everything in the Simulated Universe was supposed to be fake. Even if one's data died inside, it shouldn't affect reality.
That's how it was supposed to be...
"Fuli..."
Turning data into reality was no different from turning memory into reality. There was only one being capable of such a feat.
The data corruption just now was probably that very process of materialization taking place.
Herta felt she had really found the right partner this time.
What in the world was this guy Leon, an Aeon-magnet?
She had only intended to talk to Fuli through the Simulated Universe to probe into March 7th's background.
And the result?
Haha, the result was that he accidentally summoned the real Fuli.
How ridiculous was that?
The Simulated Universe had been running for so long, and it wasn't like Herta had never encountered such a situation.
She had once thought, if the Simulated Universe constantly simulates Aeons and asks them questions, why couldn't an Aeon ask it something in return?
Perhaps a novel perspective could yield something unexpected.
She had posed her question to the eighteen Aeons, but only Nous had responded.
(Note: The version impersonated by Aha.)
Judging from Aha's words back then about wanting her to become a Masked Fool, It could probably truly descend into the Simulated Universe.
All Herta could do now was wish Leon good luck.
Or hope that Lan could go and rescue him.
"Where's Leon?"
March 7th, who was watching from the sidelines, finally spoke up in confusion when she saw that nothing had happened with the two for a while.
"He'll be back in a bit. Probably."
Fuli still had that task It entrusted to him. It probably wouldn't make things too difficult for him.
Herta thought to herself with a glance in March's direction.
...
...
Sudarshana.
"Sigh, I've barely met with Lan a few times, but you and I are already on our third 'field op' in the middle of nowhere."
Leon couldn't help but complain as he found himself in yet another strange world.
Lan had never pulled him into a private dimension, but this damned Fuli had dragged him away three times, each to a different place. Did It enjoy these little field trips so much?
If you're going to summon me, at least give me some rewards! Are you just going to ghost me after all this?
Even Aha knows to give you something for your trouble, sheesh!
"Where the hell am I now?!"
Leon scanned his surroundings.
How to describe it... one phrase felt particularly fitting.
"The inverted sea has become the sky."
Underfoot was an endless, seamless plain of ice-blue glass, while overhead hung the silent surface of a deep blue sea.
It felt like it could stir into a frenzy at any moment.
"Fuli! Where are you! I'm here to collect, so where are you hiding!"
Leon shouted, his voice echoing across the empty expanse.
As soon as the words left his mouth, Fuli once again appeared before him out of thin air.
No matter how many times he faced It, the giant, colossal form inspired a sense of pressure that rose from the depths of his heart.
"Old timer, drop some of your daughter's Memories!"
Seeing that It had appeared, Leon immediately made his demand.
"You just handed your 'daughter' over to me, but she has no memories and you don't care at all. It makes me look like I'm kidnapping an innocent girl. How about some child support?"
Leon refused to believe It didn't have March 7th's memories.
Raising a child to repay a favor wasn't out of the question. If It truly lacked the ability, he would have accepted it.
But as it turned out, It was one of the most powerful beings in the entire galaxy.
In that case, Leon was going to press the attack relentlessly.
He was, in fact, the person who could best understand March 7th's situation.
Because both of their beginnings were on an impossible difficulty setting. He, too, had no one to rely on. He could truly empathize.
The only difference was, he had a cheat code, and she didn't.
But that was fine. He could be her cheat code!
Leon hadn't come for himself; he had come for the weak!
He didn't actually have a major issue with raising the child. After all, a debt of gratitude was difficult to measure, its value dependent on the other party's ability.
And Leon was a man of ability, so he wouldn't complain on that front.
What he was dissatisfied with was that Fuli clearly had the power to give her memories, to teach her common sense, but It had done none of it.
It had let March 7th descend upon the world all alone and ignorant.
In short, it came down to one sentence: Time to drop some loot, bio-dad!
"My friend, if you're gonna have a kid, you have to pay child support, my friend!"
Leon conjured a pen and paper out of thin air as if by magic. Using two of his powers at once, he was clearly determined to settle things with It today!
Fuli remained silent.
But with a barely audible crack, a tiny fissure appeared on Its translucent body.
CRACK!
A distinct shattering sound rang out!
For the second time, Fuli's massive body split open down the middle, just as it had when it brought Leon here, breaking into pieces of various sizes!
"Holy crap, that's hardcore?"
Leon hadn't expected It to just self-destruct.
666, turning its own broken body into a pyre. Absolutely savage.
"Wait..."
As they fell, the chunks formed from Fuli's shattered body began to dissipate one by one, but a single piece remained completely unaffected.
Sealed inside was the girl Leon knew so well. March 7th appeared before his eyes, frozen in ice, just as she had been when they first met.
"Dude, what is this supposed to mean? Is March 7th your alt account?"
Leon tried to decipher the meaning Fuli was trying to convey with this act.
RUMBLE!
Before he could let his thoughts wander, the Sea of Memories overhead, which had been as still as stagnant water, immediately erupted into a frenzy the moment Fuli dissipated!
Countless, indescribable, grotesque arms of mixed blue and purple shot out from the Sea of Memories, their target the single, undissipated remnant of Fuli!
"Trying to snatch someone right in front of me?"
Leon snorted. The Vanquisher slung over his shoulder transformed at his will into two short blades, one blue and one purple, which landed in his palms.
"With Fuli gone, I'm invincible here!"
Other than the Aeon of Remembrance, who present could possibly defeat him?
A bunch of nobodies from who-knows-where dared to provoke him? He wasn't even afraid of Fuli; why would he shy away from them?
Watch him tear these clowns a new one!
