The Soul

(This chapter explains the basic knowledge about the world, including the worldbuilding and power system. You'll learn most of this naturally as the story continues. This section may contain spoilers.)

➣ The Soul

Souls are possessed by both Corrupted Creatures and humans. Without a soul, a human simply dies — regardless of whether the body is injured or not.

-

➣ Soul Vessel

A Soul Vessel allows its user to perform charms and magic-like abilities. It also enables the user to strengthen their body — making it faster, stronger, and more resilient. There are up to six Soul Vessels in total:

1st Vessel – Awakening: The user gains basic strength and access to a few charms. Their body begins to resist corruption slightly.

2nd Vessel – Resonance: The soul and body synchronize. The user can merge charms into hybrid spells or weapons. A faint passive aura develops.

3rd Vessel – Manifestation: The soul partially manifests outside the body (wings, halos, shadows, horns — depends on personality). The user may begin to sense other souls.

4th Vessel – Transcendence: The user can refine charms into unique abilities tied to their soul (a "signature move").

5th Vessel – Divinity / Corruption Threshold: The soul becomes powerful enough to resist full corruption or even control corrupted essence. However, the risk of turning into a Demon increases drastically.

6th Vessel – Apotheosis / Immortality: The soul can exist independently of the body for short periods. The user may survive death if the body is destroyed — though at great cost.

➣ Soul Fragments

Soul Fragments are used to create and strengthen Soul Vessels. They can be collected after killing Corrupted Creatures — the higher the creature's rank, the greater the reward and the more fragments obtained.

-

➣ Charms

Charms are magic-like abilities that allow the user to cast powerful spells, curses, or destructive attacks. They can be obtained by defeating Corrupted Creatures or by discovering them in certain regions.

Common Charm: Minor effects (a spark of fire, weak healing, small curse). Found on low-level creatures.Example:Fire Spark – lights torches or singes flesh.

Greater Charm: Combat-level spells (fireball, shadow veil, bone shield). Usually dropped by Demons (2 Vessels).Example:Veil of Shadows – cloak yourself in darkness for a few seconds.

Rare Charm: Unique and powerful abilities that are difficult to control. Usually requires 2+ Vessels to wield safely.Example:Cursed Tongue – spoken words become binding oaths or hexes.

Epic Charm: Connected to divine or corrupted essence. Can alter terrain, summon storms, or manipulate weaker souls. Often unstable.Example:Soulflare – burns away corruption or ignites a soul directly.

Legendary Charm: Once wielded by gods or Void Lords. Singular and non-replicable. Can evolve.Example:Heavenbreaker – creates a spear of pure Aether that shatters corruption but consumes years of the wielder's lifespan.

➣ Soul Arsenal

The Soul Arsenal allows its user to form and summon spiritual weapons and armor. Each user has a main weapon, secondary weapon, and corresponding armors.

You obtain your main weapon when your first Vessel forms, and it grows stronger alongside you. Secondary weapons can be fused with charms over time. The Soul Arsenal can also hold Soul Tools, which are special artifacts found in specific regions or dropped by powerful foes.

Dormant Weapon: The first form (after 1st Vessel). A basic weapon with slightly enhanced power.

Awakened Weapon: Unlocked after 2nd Vessel. The weapon develops a distinct personality; edges sharpen, weight lightens, minor abilities appear.

Resonant Weapon: 3rd Vessel. The weapon resonates with its wielder's soul, unlocking signature powers (e.g., a fire sword, lightning bow, cursed spear).

Exalted Weapon: 4th Vessel. Fully bound to the user's soul; can merge charms directly. Gains a unique Soul Art (special technique).

Relic Weapon: 5th Vessel. Begins evolving into a semi-living relic. Can reject others, whisper to its wielder, and grow independently.

Mythic Weapon: 6th Vessel. Transcendent; exists partly in soul form. Can strike both body and spirit. Nearly indestructible.

➣ Corrupted Creatures

Corrupted Creatures are powerful, non-human beings that hunt and kill humans — and sometimes each other. They originate from the Oblivion Realm and can be classified as follows:

Corrupted Creature (1 Vessel): Terrifying and powerful to ordinary humans but possible to defeat.

Demon (2 Vessels): Almost impossible for a normal human to kill.

Abomination (3 Vessels): Twisted, monstrous forms with multiple abilities; bestial yet intelligent.

Archdemon (4 Vessels): Intelligent and manipulative. Capable of leading armies and commanding others.

Soul Tyrant (5 Vessels): Can dominate weaker souls and even take control of humans' vessels.

Void Lord (6 Vessels): Exists partially in both the Oblivion Realm and reality. Nearly immortal unless their true soul is destroyed. Considered mythical.

✥ World Story

Long ago, six immortal gods created the Earth and humankind. In doing so, they also formed two parallel realms:

The Aether Realm — a land of eternal life and beauty, free from pain.

The Oblivion Realm — a corrupted land of sin, monsters, and eternal torment.

Earth existed between them — a balance between saints and sinners.

However, one of the six gods slowly fell to corruption and opened gateways from the Oblivion Realm to Earth. From these gates, countless Abominations poured forth to destroy and devour the world.

The remaining five gods created portals to the Aether Realm, offering humans refuge.

Now, Earth is a devastated battlefield — and the Aether Realm stands as humanity's final sanctuary.

No one knows where the gods have gone.

-

✥ Earth

Almost destroyed. Only one continent — Asia — remains under human control. The rest has fallen to the corrupted in the endless war.

-

✥ Aether Realm

A radiant world where surviving humans sought refuge. Elves, dwarves, and other ancient races also inhabit this realm.

-

✥ Oblivion Realm

A realm of dread, wrath, and death. Home to all Corrupted Creatures.Being sent here is considered a death sentence.
