Chapter 34 - Missing Something

Knox's POV

Callie laid back in the table, trembling from satisfaction. I could tell she was a virgin from how tight she'd been. I knew she'd be sore after we'd all played with her so I scooped her shaking body up in my arms.

I mindlinked the warriors and housekeepers in the pack house to stay clear of the corridors before walking with her back to my room.

Callie rested her head on my chest, inhaling deeply my scent.

Havoc purred at her action, he was overjoyed with how comfortable and accepting of us she'd been in the library.

I couldn't believe how awfully I'd treated her. I looked down at her half sleeping, she was truly breathtaking, her crimson hair was falling messily around her face from the activities in the library.

The others had followed us into the bedroom as I set her down gently on the bed.i walked straight into the bathroom, and began filling the bath with warm water.

I added some oils to help her relax before returning to my room.

Alfie and Jax laid either side of her, their fingers trailing the outline of her arms and legs soothingly. She sighed deeply as she relaxed into them.

Kane sat at the foot of the bed, his head hung low, frowning slightly as he was deep in thought.

"What's wrong?" I mindlinked Kane.

"I can't stop thinking about Shining Cresent, I think we're missing something obvious" He replied, worried.

I sighed internally, Kane had always been an overthinker.

I didn't respond, my thoughts clouded with his words.

I stepped back into the bathroom, shutting off the water and checking the temperature.

Jax entered the bathroom, Callie in his arms, she was more awake, her arms snaked around his neck.

"What's all this?" She questioned.

"A bath to help you to relax. Your body will need it." Jax cooed.

He kissed her forehead gently and lowered her into the bath.

She moaned gently as she settled into the warm water.

As we began exiting the bathroom to allow Callie space to relax she innocently called after us "will you join me?"

We both turned.

"Not this time darling, otherwise we will end up fucking you." Jax said, a hint of playfulness in his voice.

Her eyes widened momentarily but was quickly replaced by a jovial pout and smirk.

The scent of her arousal filled the bathroom.

We both inhaled deeply.

"You're killing us." I growled lowly.

"Come out when you're ready and we'll get you some food." Jax said adoringly.

We left her, closing the door gently behind us.

In my bedroom Kane and Alfie were sitting on my bed, both encapsulated by their thoughts.

"What's going on?" Jax said quietly.

"Kane felt we were missing something about Shining Cresent, it got me thinking… maybe we're looking at this the wrong way." Alfie replied.

"What do you mean?" I asked, puzzled.

"Maybe we need to look into the doctor who prescribed Callie those suppressors. They must've known who she was to do that and they may have information about her pack or her real parents." Alfie thought out loud.

Alfie was right, this seemed the best way to figure things out. We'd already scoured most of the library and pack records, coming up empty handed on any new information about Shining Cresent.

Jax mulled over Alfie's words before speaking "we need to ask Callie what she remembers about this doctor. I think she'd mentioned a name before."

"Didn't you say Doctor Mary couldn't find any records of this so called doctor?" Kane said.

"Yes, but I think she only searched medical licenses, what if this guy is a healer?" Jax retorted.

"That would make a lot of sense as to why Doctor Mary couldn't find anything. But if it's a doctor or healer that belong to Shining Cresent pack, they are going to be untraceable. The packs been in hiding for goddess knows how long, the council are probably unaware of their existence altogether" Alfie pondered.

The wolf shifter council was made up of elders from packs all over. They got involved with pack politics and enforced wolf shifter laws.

"Unless the council, or someone on the council knows exactly what happened and are helping keep their secrets." I said, silence followed, we heard Callie getting out the bath.

"Don't say anything to Callie, she has her evening with Jaz tonight, I don't want her distracted unable to enjoy herself." Jax mindlinked us all.

Callie stepped out of the bathroom, a towel wrapped around her body, her red curls hung, dripping over her shoulders. The memory of kissing there flashed In my mind.

I cleared my throat, stepping towards Callie. "Here, let me get you something to wear." I said softly as I guided Callie to my wardrobe.

I opened the daws and pulled out a black hoodie.

I helped lift it over her head. It swamped her petite frame.

The chill from removing her wet towel caused her nipples to harden, they poked through my hoodie, tempting me to take her on the spot.

I turned, inhaling deeply, trying to ease the growing tension in my trousers.

I pulled out some underwear for Callie to wear as shorts, she blushed innocently as I handed them to her.

Callie finished dressing herself as Kane called her over to him.

Kane patted the spot on my bed beside him.

He wrapped his arms around her, nestling his face in the crook of Callie's neck, inhaling her scent deeply.

"I'll go get your clothes from the library, so you don't have to wear Knox's tonight." Alfie said suddenly exiting the room.

Callie's eyes watched him go, her eyebrows furrowed slightly.

I

"Is Alfie upset with me, did I do something wrong?" Callie said, her voice shy.

"Not at all princess, he's just stressed about figuring out what happened to your pack." Kane said gently, kissing the top of her head.

"I.. I don't really want to know." Callie confessed.

Jax and I sat on the bed beside them, both of our faces concerned.

"What do you mean darling?" Jax said as he reached out taking her hand in his.

I gently stroked her arm with the back of my fingers, I hated seeing her worried.

Despite my foolish actions when we met, how I felt and how I treated Callie, my heart broke for her. Seeing her in emotional turmoil made me want to burn the entire world dow to make her happy again.

"I just don't see the point.. they obviously didn't want me." She said absentmindedly.

My chest ached for her.

Jax raised Callie's hand in his kissing the top softly "We want you. That's all that matters now, you'll have a home with us. Always." He reassured her.

Tears swelled in her eyes. She looked down quickly wiping them away.

"We all do." I added, I wanted to make sure Callie knew how I felt about her now. That there was no doubt in her mind that I wanted her as much as my brothers despite my fuck up in the begining.

Callie looked up at me, her eyes still glistening with tears, she smiled but it didn't fully reach her eyes.

Suddenly she climbed out of kanes grasp and wrapped her arms around my neck tightly. Callie snuggled her head into my chest "I want you too." She whispered.

Happiness swelled in my chest. My arms returning the hug. She lifted her head, placing a single kiss on my cheek.

I turned to face her, our lips crashing together in a moment of passion, Callie parted her lips slightly, granting my tongue access. Callie let out a breathy moan, the scent of her carousel filled the room.

My pants tightened painfully. I pulled away from the kiss, cupping her cheeks with both hands "we need to stop, or I will fuck you right here." I warned. Callie blushed, her breathing rapid.

Jax and Kane chuckled to themselves.

"Come on princess, you need to get ready for your night with Jaz." Kane said, still grinning at us.

As Callie's moved to stand up off the bed, Alfie burst through the bedroom door. Callie jumped at his action, her hand gripping my arm.

"We need to go, I have something" Alfie rushed out, panting as though he'd ran all the way here.
