Chapter 61 - Shadows Gather

The Golden Sanctuary had returned to its calm, golden glow, but Mukul could still feel the lingering pulse of the mysterious enemy outside. The shadows had withdrawn, but the sense of being watched remained—like a predator circling before a strike.

Meera paced, eyes sharp. "They didn't attack fully. They're observing, learning our strengths and weaknesses."

Kavya lounged against a crystal pillar, twirling her dagger. "Or maybe they're just being dramatic. I like dramatic villains."

Anaya shook her head, voice steady. "No. This is deliberate. They're intelligent, methodical, and patient. That makes them dangerous."

Saira's calm tone cut through the chatter. "Energy fluctuations indicate multiple sources converging. The enemy is calling shadows from elsewhere—preparing for a larger attack. We must act before they strike."

Liyana smirked, spinning her lockpick. "I vote we meet them halfway. Style points for dramatic entrances, right?"

Mukul gathered the women around him, golden threads of energy connecting them. "This isn't just a fight—it's preparation. They've sensed us and are assembling forces. We need information, strategy, and coordination. We strike only when we know we can control the battlefield."

Meera clenched her fists. "Reconnaissance, then. We need to know what we're dealing with."

Kavya twirled her dagger and smirked. "I can scout ahead. Fast, quiet, unpredictable—basically my middle name."

Anaya nodded thoughtfully. "I'll analyse patterns and energy traces. Shadows leave subtle markers. If we track them, we'll predict their moves."

Saira added softly, "I can sense anomalies in the energy flow. Any sudden shifts will alert us. Together, we'll map the threat before it reaches us."

Liyana grinned. "And I'll handle traps, ambushes, and style points while scouting. Multi-tasking at its finest."

Mukul's aura flared warmly. "Perfect. Teamwork is our strength. We divide tasks but remain connected through the golden threads. Distance doesn't break our coordination—it amplifies it."

The women nodded, understanding their roles. The sanctuary shimmered with golden energy as they prepared to split, each focusing on their unique strength.

Meera moved toward the northern passage, senses sharp, ready to confront any immediate threat. Kavya disappeared in a blur of motion, scouting from above and around the perimeter. Anaya traced energy patterns across the sanctuary, her mind mapping probable enemy positions. Saira floated silently, alert for fluctuations in energy flow. Liyana tiptoed through hidden corridors, detecting and disabling potential traps.

Mukul stayed at the centre, golden aura extending like a lighthouse. "Stay in sync. Keep the threads active. One signal, one pulse, and we converge immediately."

Minutes turned into hours as the team probed the surrounding area. Shadows shifted, testing boundaries, but Mukul's pulse and the women's coordination kept them in check. Every flicker, every subtle movement, every whisper of energy was monitored, analysed, and countered.

Finally, Anaya's voice called softly through the golden threads. "Multiple nodes detected. The enemy isn't alone. They're gathering reinforcements, coordinating from different points. This is bigger than we expected."

Meera exhaled, gripping her weapon. "So, the real battle is coming soon. We've got a warning shot."

Kavya smirked, twirling her dagger. "Good. Gives us a chance to make them regret poking us first."

Saira added calmly, "Observation has given us the advantage. We now control the battlefield mentally before they arrive physically."

Liyana leaned against a pillar, spinning her lockpick. "And style… optional, but highly effective for psychological warfare."

Mukul's golden aura pulsed with intensity, connecting the women in a web of strength, strategy, and trust. "The shadows are gathering, but so are we. Preparation, coordination, and unity will be our edge. When they strike, we'll be ready. Together, unstoppable, and precise."

Outside the Golden Sanctuary, the enemy's shadows shimmered in distant darkness. Forces were converging, drawn by curiosity, hunger, and challenge. But Mukul and his team were no longer passive targets—they were hunters in their own right, ready to meet the shadows head-on.
