Chapter 59 Why not pray to the Lord?
"But I only know this kind of depraved ritual. Is it really inappropriate to perform it in front of the sacred Gate of Chanis?"
Lu Ze countered Edward's earlier rejection with the same question, seemingly sincere but actually laced with sarcasm.
His words almost made his teammates burst out laughing, and made Edward's face turn even more ashen.
However, this was, after all, a task assigned to him by the church, and with the mediation of Ms. Daly, after mocking Edward to his heart's content and receiving an apology and a "travel allowance" of 30 pounds per person from the Tingen squad, Luzer finally agreed to take action.
"He may already be holding a grudge against you."
Klein whispered to Luzer.
"Whatever."
"Luze replied. Edward already harbored resentment towards them, and given Luze's personality, he was unlikely to back down. It didn't matter if he held a grudge; after all, they were all official Extraordinary Beings, forbidden from private duels, so who was afraid of whom?"
"Alright, Luze, everyone's watching you now," Leonard said with a smile. "Let them see what you're capable of!"
Lu Ze nodded, and under everyone's gaze, he slowly stepped forward, silver dagger in hand. The seal on the cage had been broken, and the mutated monster was sleeping soundly in the dream created by Edward, lying relaxed with its mouth wide open, unconsciously releasing terrifying murmurs.
He approached the monster, slit his finger with his dagger, and let the blood drip down. The monster's body was now gruesome, as if its skin had just been peeled off, exposing raw flesh. Luze's blood dripped onto its body and was quickly absorbed, seeping into its muscles.
"The glory of the Lord will descend upon the earth again, bringing salvation to all who have fallen."
Luze circled around the other, beginning to chant evil prayers in a low voice, echoing the monster's twisted murmurs. The two voices overlapped, reverberating in the enclosed underground space, shaking the hearts of every listener.
As the sound grew louder, Edward was surprised to find that the monster had regained consciousness. But instead of spreading curses as before, it roared, as if bewitched by Luzer's praises, completely immersed in the praise of the true creator.
In the dark underground space, a man and a monster chanted in unison a prayer praising an evil god, creating an extremely eerie scene. The onlookers remained tense and silent, many even having unsettling thoughts—could he really be a follower of the evil god?
Of course not.
Luze praised the true creator, but his azure eyes remained coldly calm. He once again circled around to the front of the monster, raised his left hand, and pressed the silver dagger against his wrist.
"Wait, what's he going to do?!"
Before Leonard could finish his surprised words, Luzer had already slashed down hard with his knife!
Good heavens!
Everyone was shocked by his insane actions, but in a strange atmosphere, no one dared to stop him. They watched as the monster opened its mouth and drank the red blood gushing from Luze's wrist.
Due to blood loss, Luze's face began to turn pale, but his wrist remained steadily held out. After drinking his blood, the monster gradually recovered, especially its head, where skin began to grow, and fleshy growths emerged from beneath the skin, giving it a terrifyingly vibrant appearance.
Seeing that it was almost done, Lu Ze lowered his arm, went behind the monster, and whispered in its ear:
"The Lord is so great, why not praise the Lord?"
"Ah ah."
His words caused the monster to grin, its blood-stained mouth revealing a terrifying smile. The monster laughed and said:
"praise."
"puff!"
Lu Ze, behind it, gripped a dagger tightly in both hands and slashed down hard at its neck!
For some unknown reason, this silver dagger, which was neither hard nor sharp enough, easily severed the monster's hideous head!
"Thump, thump."
The monster's head fell to the ground, and not a drop of blood flowed from the severed head. It seemed as if it had never realized it had been cut off, still wearing a fanatical smile, its mouth opening and closing as it praised its master.
Lu Ze sheathed the dagger, casually wrapped it around his wrist, then walked over, bent down, lifted the head, and stood in front of Edward. Everyone except Edward instinctively stepped back.
"Hang it up with a rope, and its head will automatically turn in one direction and keep praying in that direction. Follow that direction, and you'll find the person who placed the flesh magic inside it. Even if that person's location isn't the Aurora Society's headquarters, it should be a place with a significant connection. If we still can't solve this case, I'll really have to question your abilities."
Lu Ze said. The person who implanted flesh magic into the crew members is naturally the key to this case. As long as he can be found, the case will make great progress.
"I see."
Edward took the grotesque head with a complicated expression.
"Alright, I guess that's all for now? We'll take our leave."
Having finished his task, Lu Ze's tone became more relaxed, though his handsome face now appeared pale and weak. He turned and walked outside, the others making way for him, their eyes filled with not only wariness but also a hint of fear.
In a silent and oppressive atmosphere, Leonard and Klein came up, helped him up, and led him toward the ground.
"Oh, right."
Lu Ze took a few steps, then turned back to ask Dai Li, "Ms. Dai Li, do you know any good restaurants nearby?"
"Nearby restaurants?"
Dai Li was stunned for a moment.
"Yes, I'm suddenly a little hungry."
Lu Ze replied.
A sudden surge of intense hunger welled up within him. It wasn't a discomfort from his stomach, but rather an emptiness in his body and soul, an urgent need to be filled with flesh and blood.
He wants steak, lots of it! And it has to be fresh, not rare, but medium-rare!

The waiter walked steadily down the night street with his head down.
With a cool sea breeze blowing, he walked through the streets and alleys, finally stopping in front of a building, opening the door and going inside.
"Miss."
He knelt humbly, pressing his forehead against the cold ground, the heavy stench of blood in the air having no effect on him.
Opposite him, a dark red light illuminated a slender figure draped in a white robe.
"Someone has spotted me."
She spoke softly, her voice gentle and soothing, like a loving mother lulling her child to sleep.
"Madam, the roads are still being secretly blocked, and all transportation channels will be inspected by them. We can't ship this batch of 'goods' out for the time being."
The waiter said respectfully.
"Then don't send them away, make them into sacrifices. They are lucky to have the opportunity to become part of the Lord."
The woman's gentle tone carried a subtle madness, effortlessly deciding the lives of many. From the hidden door behind her, a faint crimson light emanated.
Upon hearing her command, the waiter lowered his head again without hesitation.
"Yes, Ms. M."
