Chapter 63 - Chapter 63 Ms. M

Chapter 63 Ms. M

The pitch-black doorway was wide open, like a gaping maw greedily awaiting its prey, welcoming Lu Ze and his group.

"The dream entry failed. Get ready, we're going in." Seeing this, Edward instructed everyone, "Be careful of the Rose Bishop, who is at Sequence 6; his flesh and blood could turn into bombs. Pay special attention to the mental pollution from the True Creator. Don't look at what you shouldn't see, and don't listen to what you shouldn't hear!"

His gaze lingered particularly on Luze, because theoretically, Luze was the one most susceptible to influence.

Don't worry, I actually have a cheat code.

Lu Ze, of course, didn't say that; he simply nodded to indicate that he understood. He followed Edward and the others cautiously into the blood-soaked building.

Upon entering the house, the stench of blood lessened, replaced by a peculiar fragrance. The light was also less dim than it appeared from the outside; everything was bathed in a dark red hue, and under this illumination, the furnishings inside could be barely discerned.

They were in a large hall with staircases leading up to the upper floors on either side. The rear half of the building was blocked by a door. This door was ajar, emitting a red light—the only source of light in the room.

A woman sat in front of the door, draped in a white robe, her figure curvaceous. Because she was backlit, the light shining from behind the door framed her with a red border.

And her face is very beautiful.

Indeed, even though the two sides were currently hostile, Lu Ze had to admit that her appearance was among the most beautiful he had ever seen, comparable to his sister Cecilia. Her long, blood-red hair was casually draped over her shoulders, her features were delicate and soft, and her lips were thin, seemingly always carrying a gentle smile. Yet, her golden eyes radiated a cold light, as if they were a pair of beautiful but emotionless eyes forged from inorganic metal.

Contradictory—that was Lu Ze's first impression of the other party, like a mixture of sweet honey and potent poison, or like an innocent girl bearing the oppression of a superior.

"welcome."

She looked at everyone, smiled, and spoke in a soft, gentle tone. Leaning back lazily in a chair, she made no move to attack, as if she truly were the hostess, welcoming her guests.

Just then, Lu Ze suddenly felt the people next to him shudder, then erupt in anger, as if they had seen something unacceptable. Following their gaze, Lu Ze's eyes fell on the chair where the woman was sitting.

What's wrong with the chair? It's just a lighter color, it looks like a leather sledgehammer!

Lu Ze looked down along the back of the chair and suddenly saw something unbelievable on the armrest. The unusual pattern on it, which he initially thought was some kind of relief, turned out to be a human face upon closer inspection.

Moreover, he had seen this face before; it seemed to belong to one of the members of the investigation team that Edward had sent out!

This face isn't embedded in the chair; rather, it blends naturally into it. So, does that mean the chair is...

Lu Ze suddenly felt an unprecedented sense of disgust. Because he saw that the face was still moving, opening its eyes and seeing Edward and the others opposite it.

"team leader!"

The face spoke, shouting at Edward, "Mark and the others are being controlled! Be careful, she is..."

"Knock, knock."

A pair of white, translucent fingers, like porcelain, adorned with a vibrant red rose ring, gently tapped his forehead twice, interrupting his words.

"Exposing a lady's secrets isn't exactly gentlemanly." The red-haired woman, the owner of the hand, gently stroked the other's forehead, speaking in a seductive voice that seemed to possess a magical allure. "Besides, shouldn't you tell your captain something more important?"

Then the anxiety in his eyes disappeared, replaced by an expression of extreme pain.

"team leader."

His eyes were filled with pain, yet a smile played on his lips. "Please allow me to introduce you to the great Lord, the true Lord."

"Bang!"

A sudden gunshot shattered the unbearable atmosphere in the room. A bullet hole appeared between the eyebrows of the person in the armrest of the chair, ending their suffering.

Edward tucked his cane into his arm with the missing hand, and held the revolver steadily in his other hand. Smoke billowed from the muzzle, and the revolver's grip creaked as he held it.

"Captain Edward, please calm down, she did it on purpose."

Lu Ze spoke, only then realizing how heavy his breathing was.

"I know."

Edward said calmly, his tone as cold as ice.

He looked at the stunningly beautiful woman opposite him and slowly asked, "Are you Ms. M from the Aurora Society?"

"That's right, it's me."

"Where are your other men?"

"They have already returned to the great embrace of the Lord before me."

"That's just you sacrificing them, and you're making it sound so noble."

Edward chuckled.

"You don't understand,"

Ms. M sighed softly, "We are all humble servants of the great Lord."

"Thump!"

In that instant, without warning, Edward put down his revolver and slammed his remaining right hand, gripping the black "Chaos Cane," onto the ground. The cane struck the floor with a sound, and at the same moment, the air around Ms. M suddenly distorted, and her aura seemed to visibly weaken.

It was the distortion effect of the "Chaos Staff" that Edward used Ms. M's language to amplify and distort the meaning of her words "humble servant," which then acted on her, causing her strength to decrease in a short period of time!

Ms. M was interrupted as she was about to say the second half of her sentence. She looked down and sensed the changes within herself, showing neither anger nor panic. She simply smiled and said, "Very clever."

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The night watchmen wouldn't waste a precious opportunity to chat with Ms. M. The moment her spirits waned, the other watchmen opened fire simultaneously. A dozen demon-hunting bullets rained down on her, filling her curvaceous body with countless bullet holes.

Hiss—

The demon hunter bullets tore through Ms. M's flesh, leaving her white robes stained with bullet holes and blood. The demon hunter's power was suppressing her flesh, while her regenerative abilities were suppressed by her own words. The granulation tissue slowly writhed, unable to repair itself in the short term.

Ms. M was struck by bullets and swayed violently, but she did not fall.

The effect isn't very noticeable.

Luze stopped firing, thinking to himself. Just then, he saw Leon step forward, his face full of hatred, holding an absurdly large revolver, crouching down, aiming at the enemy in front of him, and pulling the trigger.

"boom!"

It was a deafening bang, like a cannonball exploding. Ms. M's arm snapped off like a tree branch broken by the wind, with only a few strands of skin and flesh connecting it.

"Leon, keep firing! You guys reload!"

Edward gave the order.

After being attacked for so long, Ms. M finally made her move during a lull in the attack. She reached out and tore off her fair arm, throwing it at the group of people.

That arm started to swell in mid-air, threatening to explode at any moment!
