Chapter 65 The Abyss of Flesh
With a faint golden glint in his eyes, Leon blankly raised his large-caliber revolver and, under the astonished gazes of the others, pulled the trigger toward Ms. Daly's back.
He was hypnotized!
Lu Ze jolted, rushed over, and pushed him away.
"Bang!"
The bullet grazed Daly's arm, striking the floor and creating a large gash. A bloody dent was ripped into Daly's pale arm by the bullet, causing her to flinch in pain. But she didn't stop her summoning; her eyes remained fixed on Ms. M.
Finally, Ms. Daly's summoning was successful. Countless dark vines emerged from the void, tightly binding Ms. M's body. Yellowish-black liquid dripped from the vines, carrying a strong corrosive effect. Ms. M's body was twisted into a ball by the vines, turning into a paper figure, which shattered into countless pieces and scattered on the ground.
She's disappeared again!
A fire ignited in the center of the crowd, and Ms. M, in her white robe, emerged from the flames. She raised her hand high, like a knife, gathering immense power, and thrust it straight at Ms. Daly's back.
"careful!"
Luze shouted, raising his gun to stop him, but a pair of arms grabbed his throat from behind. Turning around, he saw Leon, who was being held captive. He was still not fully conscious, but his grip was incredibly strong; one hand was choking Luze's throat, and the other was grabbing the arm holding the gun.
"Get out of my way!"
Just as Ms. Daly was about to be stabbed through the back, Edward rushed over, his black cane whistling through the air as it slammed down on Ms. M.
"Crack!"
Ms. M's arm was broken in the middle, but taking advantage of Edward's full swing of his cane, she turned around and rushed into his arms, gently placing her other hand on his chest.
She's going to create a flesh bomb on Edward's chest!
Edward glared at Ms. M, his anger still lingering, as a faint ripple of water spread around his body, as he tried to pull Ms. M into a dream.
But Ms. M merely smiled slightly, as if mocking, and then the crisp sound of shattering glass echoed in the void, shattering the dream before it could even take shape.
Her hand remained firmly pressed against Edward's chest.
"boom!"
A violent explosion followed, blasting a huge hole through Edward's chest and piercing his body. His face still bore the mark of anger, but his body was too weak to support him, and he fell backward to the ground. The black "Staff of Chaos" slipped from his grasp and fell to the ground.
"Edward!"
Ms. Daisy cried out in grief and indignation. But at that moment, Ms. M appeared in front of her like a ghost and gently punched her in the throat.
"Snap!"
With a sharp crack, Dai Li clutched her throat and slowly collapsed, her fate unknown.
Even at this point, Luze was still unable to break free from Leon's control from behind!
In shock, he felt the pressure on his neck slowly loosen. Looking back, he saw Leon retreating in terror, his hands involuntarily raising the giant revolver and pressing it against his chin.
"Captain! Ms. Daly! Brother!"
"Lu Ze, save me!"
His finger was already on the trigger as he cried out helplessly.
Just as Lu Ze was about to reach out to stop him, a pair of arms wrapped around him from behind, gently embracing him. Those arms were fair and smooth, and on slender fingers wore a blood-red rose ring, the rose in full bloom. He felt like a mouse caught in a venomous snake, his body suddenly stiffening as he watched Leon pull the trigger.
"Bang!"
Gunshots echoed inside the house, followed by the sound of bodies falling to the ground.
All three of them collapsed around Luzer and Ms. M. The night watchmen of Enmat Port, let alone holding out until reinforcements arrived, didn't even last a few minutes before being completely wiped out.
Despair, an overwhelming sense of despair, washed over Lu Ze.
Is this the shepherd's true strength?
Ms. M's soft body pressed against his back, and a warm, sweet fragrance wafted over him, but he only felt that he could hardly breathe.
"Soothing the soul, communicating with spirits—these are all excellent abilities. Lu Ze, which one do you think I should herd?"
Soft words, carrying a warm breath, rang in Lu Ze's ears.
Upon hearing Ms. M's voice, Lu Ze was startled at first, then his eyes widened in disbelief.
She...she knows me!
Are you surprised?
Ms. M released Lu Ze, walked up to him, and asked with a smile, "You probably don't know, but it was actually me who arranged for Sirius and Haynes from Tingen to find you and take care of you."
Actually, I know.
Lu Ze recalled the letter and thought to himself.
"It's a pity that the lambs of Tingen were later completely destroyed by the minions of the false god, and you disappeared without a trace. I originally thought you would vanish forever, but who knew that by the grace of the Lord, you would actually return at this most crucial moment. Indeed, it was all the Lord's will."
She stared at Lu Ze, smiled and shook her head, "But I didn't expect you to have become the Night Watcher, which makes me very sorry."
Lu Ze's mind was in turmoil. Sure enough, Ms. M had long been eyeing his body, but he had lost contact with her after escaping from Sirius. He never expected to find himself back in this body again!
Why are you so persistent with me?
He couldn't help but ask.
Perhaps Ms. M can answer the long-standing mystery surrounding herself.
"Because you possess the aura of the Lord," Ms. M said, her golden eyes fixed intently on Lu Ze. "This aura is so pure, so intoxicating. It's almost like the reflection of the Lord in the human world."
Her eyes were terrifying, and Lu Ze instinctively took a step back.
Ms. M noticed his movements and sighed softly, "It's a pity that your body is so close to the Lord, yet your soul is so filthy. But fortunately, this matter will soon be resolved."
"Smack!"
She snapped her fingers crisply, and Lu Ze's body lost control of itself, involuntarily following her movements and walking behind the door that was lit with red light.
The closer they got to the door, the more intense the red light became. The light was almost tangible, permeating the surrounding air. Sticky wriggling sounds, faint murmurs, and indescribable screams came one after another from behind the door.
Finally, Ms. M walked to the door and pushed it open.
Blood instantly covered the field of vision; everywhere one looked was flesh and blood.
Behind the door was a warehouse-sized space, but instead of goods, it contained a bloated, enormous mass of flesh. The mass was bright red, resembling the mucous membrane of a mouth, writhing and expelling mucus. Corrupted, twisted magic circles were etched into the warehouse floor, the flesh spreading and merging with the walls and ceiling.
What is most appalling is what makes up the mass of flesh—countless human bodies, of various ages and genders, without regard to reason. As the mass writhes and opens and closes, each face on it reveals an expression of agony, chanting in unison the praises of some evil being.
Lu Ze felt a chill run down his spine, and involuntarily searched deep into his memories of the potion to find this extremely decadent and insane ritual.
"The Abyss of Flesh and Blood".
He squeezed out its name through gritted teeth.
(Dali didn't die!) After being pointed out by a reader, I realized that there were indeed some illogical points in the plot of the previous chapter. I originally wanted to write that Ms. M casually manipulated the group, but for some reason I wrote her as if she were a complete idiot.
Currently, chapters 62, 63, and 64 have had some plot revisions, with added explanations of level 1 sealed artifacts, foreshadowing of Ms. M being mistaken for the Rose Bishop, and some battle scenes and Ms. M's abilities have been refined, making them more reasonable.
I'm a little overwhelmed. I finished writing this yesterday under a tight deadline, so there are bound to be some logical inconsistencies. Please forgive me.
