[NOTE: This chapter is from Kaito's perspective don't mistake him as Itsuki.]
I was also seeing the beauty of nature like other students.
We were passing by a forest. But then the bus took a turn and started to go on full speed towards the forest through a road that was not showing in GPS.
Then the bus stopped and some armed officers got in bus and shouted,
"Everyone leave the bus now. We have reached our destination.
The students were all shocked.
But, we have nothing to do. They had guns if any of us protested. We would be killed instantly.
All the students started to leave.
So, I also left the bus with them.
After leaving, I saw a strange thing.
There were no other buses.
I tried to look for Itsuki, but I didn't see him anywhere.
But suddenly, a government official made an announcement.
I was terrified after hearing it. I had to survive on my own. But I don't have any skills.
It will be hard. Then I heard someone shouting.
"Hurry up, boy! Take your supplies. You are wasting time."
I ran and took my supplies.
Then I stepped into the dense forest with fear.
The forest was dark; there was barely any sunlight. The surroundings were wet; there were water patches. The trees were maybe older than my father. There were also insects that I never saw before. They were bright in colour.
After a few minutes, I heard a sound coming from my backpack.
I found and sat in a dry patch of dirt near a tree. Then I opened my bag and pulled out my tablet.
I saw:
Task: Build a shelter with the given materials.
Reward: 15 Echo points and 1 tablet battery.
Instructions: Only use the material given by the government. Using any other material will terminate the task. The shelter must prevent flooding. If the shelter doesn't follow the instructions, the task will be terminated, and the user will receive a penalty.
Just as I read the instructions, a drone arrived and left a package in front of me—maybe the materials.
As the drone flew off, I took the box and unpacked it.
There were some palm leaves, some wooden branches, and a rope.
I need to make this shelter flood-proof, so I need to make it a little high-ground.
So, at first, I placed four branches to make a basic structure. Then I tied the wooden branches to make a simple floor. Then I put the branches in a diagonal position and tied them. Finally, I put the palm leaves on top of them to block rainwater.
And tada!!!
My shelter is complete.
As soon as I completed the task, I heard a sound on my wristband.
Beep!
Task completed. Check tablet for more info.
I checked my tablet.
15 Echo points have been received.
And your tablet's battery is expected to arrive in 5 minutes.
But then I heard a voice.
"Excuse me!"
I looked back; there was a boy standing.
"Umm. What's your name?"
"My name is Minato Mikazuki."
"Do you need something? You seem lost."
"Umm. I lost my water bottle, and now I am very thirsty. I tried to find a river, but I couldn't find it. Do you know any river nearby?"
"I actually don't know."
"But I can give you my water bottle."
"No. I can't take it. It's yours."
"Uh, think less; just take it."
I gave him one of my water bottles. He was embarrassed, but he took it and then left.
But before leaving he asked my name.
Minato was a good guy in my opinion. But I am having a feeling that I should not have let him go.
