Chapter 5 - I don't mind.

Although the girls discussed in hushed tones, they weren't the only ones in the room. In the room were four boys and six other girls, all sitting idly.

One boy, a nerd-looking guy, adjusted his glasses and sneered.

"He might be strong. But the number of zombies aren't a joke. 80% of the students here got turned. Brute force isn't always everything."

Another guy beside him laughed dryly. "Really? I just hope he thins out the numbers."

Then his eyes shifted to the guy resting peacefully on the bed. "Boss. I think I need a girl to warm myself."

The girls in the room shuddered, fear coloring their faces.

The guy referred to as Boss opened one eye and glanced at the girls.

"Natasha. Blow him." He said, his voice denying any form of objection.

After the apocalypse began, the dark side of humanity surfaced. With no one left to enforce rules and regulations, the boys indulged in their fantasies. Those who always lusted after school beauties took them down with force, ignoring the pleas of the girls.

Some even starved the girls unless they obeyed their commands. Such was the case in this room. Although the other girls wanted to protest, they didn't.

Natasha froze at the order. Her hands trembled as she obeyed, her face empty of life. The other girls turned away, some biting their lips, others shutting their eyes. Nobody dared to move. In the silence, the shuffle of cloth and muffled whimpers were louder than screams.

Standing up from the bed, the leader; Skyler, walked towards the window and pulled one of the girls against the railings. The others moved back, giving them space.

As he coldly watched Leon cut down the zombies, he squeezed the girl's breasts. She moaned, her body shuddering under his touch.

"Is that him? He looks experienced." Skyler commented with a frown.

'If he survies, he'll be a threat. The girls would run to him.'

The nerd spoke up again. "Well, we can always finish him off if he reaches here."

...

Outside, Leon exhaled as he cut down the zombies, feeling a thrill in the battle. By now, most of the zombies in the school had surrounded him. Yet, they couldn't overwhelm him with their numbers.

'This is... quite interesting.'

He thought inwardly, then leaped up. Using the heads of the confused zombies as a foothold, he slipped past them and ran towards the school hostels. Without hesitation, he slipped into the female hostel which was void of zombies except for those on the ground floor.

Ignoring them, he moved on to the second floor.

"Uh, where exactly is her room?"

He asked, suddenly realizing he didn't know.

Resigned to his fate, he began checking the rooms one by one. Some rooms were empty, while others had dried blood and corpses within. Some rooms were filled with students who looked like they were about to die from fear and hunger. Some even called out to him for help. However, he didn't care. He was only here for his step-sister.

Opening a room, he instantly regretted his choice.

On the bed, two starved girls lay tangled on each other, performing uncensored acts. Leon deadpanned. The girls froze.

Then as easily as he opened the door, he closed it.

'Really? It's only been five days.'

Frustrated, he began opening the doors with aggression and closing them with disappointment.

Massaging his temples, he realized that it would be a hassle to check every single room.

'What to do—?'

He thought, closing his eyes to think quietly. Unexpectedly, his ears picked on sounds from the upper floors. A particular voice caught his attention though.

"She's there."

Bolting through the stairs, he arrived on the fourth floor and approached a particular room.

Opening the door, he was surprised by what he saw. Two girls were engaged in a heated argument with a group of three guys.

As soon as the door opened, all heads turned to him.

"Brother?"

One of the girls gasped. She had raven black hair and piercing blue eyes, accompanied by a firm and curvy physique.

"Ah. You're here." Leon nodded.

Cassie, the girl, was stunned. Her brother was here! Although she saw his message moments before the apocalypse began, she didn't believe he could actually come. Her mind was plagued with worry after she saw the horror of the apocalypse.

Could her brother even survive? Or had he become a zombie? Worse of all, was he dead?

Seeing him, alive and breathing, sent a wave of relief through her.

Ignoring the three boys and her friend, she tackled him in a bear hug.

Although Leon didn't feel too overjoyed, he was relieved that he was able to find her in this life.

His hands moved instinctively to pat her head and rub her back while his eyes scanned the other humans in the room.

The other girl, probably Cassie's roommate, had short blonde hair and dull brown eyes. She looked quite normal unlike the other girls he had seen. She was probably leeching off his sister's foodstuffs. Before the apocalypse began, he'd sent some money to his sister for her to get some provisions without telling her the reason.

'She's irrelevant.'

He dismissed her mentally, then turned to the three boys. Rough looking and holding steel pipes stained with blood, they stared at him warily.

'What were they arguing about?'

Pulling Cassie away from him, he asked calmly.

"What is the matter with these humans?"

Although his choice of words were weird, Cassie ignored that and pointed at the three.

"These guys are Skyler's henchmen. They've been pestering us to hand over our food and come join them in the upper floors."

Leon immediately understood the situation. The group of boys coveted the provisions and the girls. However, they chose a more amiable approach by promising the girls protection.

Sighing, he cocked his head, then hummed. "Do you want them dead?"

His words shocked them all.

"B-brother?!"

The three guys scoffed, suddenly remembering who their leader was.

"You wanna kill us? Seems you don't have any shred of humanity left."

They stepped forward, raising their steel pipes threateningly. The other guy smirked.

"I guess you're not from this school, so you don't know. Our boss is a special one. Super strong. So don't stick your nose into our business!"

Leon calmly unsheathed a katana from his back, then shrugged. "I don't particularly mind."
