Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Kiana's Tragedy

In the Principal's office, after listening to Himeko's report, Theresa's face grew grave. "'The Serpent,' huh? I've heard they have considerable power in the underworld, but they keep a low profile."

However, Theresa wasn't overly concerned. After all, on the surface, Schicksal was the top power on the human side. Even Anti-Entropy, which had always opposed Schicksal, was inferior in strength. A mere 'Serpent' that couldn't see the light of day wasn't worth her losing sleep over.

Himeko raised an eyebrow and said, "Do you really believe what that kid said?"

Theresa shook her head and replied, "It's not that simple. But at least we have a lead, don't we? The intelligence department hasn't found a single trace of him so far. Besides, the fact that he even knows about 'The Serpent' further proves he's not an ordinary person. Let's look in the direction of 'The Serpent.' Whether it's a serpent, or some cats and dogs, they won't be allowed to run wild in St. Freya."

At this point, Theresa paused, a cold smile on her face, and said, "My, Theresa's, students are not for them to dispose of."

"I'll have someone keep an eye on them," Himeko said after a moment of thought, then asked Theresa, "Regarding Ming Yu, should we continue to probe him?"

"Of course," Theresa said while flipping through the documents on her desk. "The unknown is often the most terrifying. But there's no hurry. We'll just wait for him to reveal his own weaknesses."

"Understood," Himeko replied.

During his days in the hospital, Ming Yu lived an unprecedentedly blissful life. Every day, there were special dishes made by Mei, which were not only nutritious but also tasted first-class. Kiana, watching from the side, gritted her teeth, looking as if she wanted to eat Ming Yu alive. Ming Yu seriously suspected that if Mei hadn't been around, he would have been beaten to death by a jealousy-crazed Kiana.

Later, Kiana tried her best to pretend she didn't care, but secretly planned to get injured herself sometime so she could enjoy the same treatment. At this thought, Kiana couldn't help but giggle foolishly, causing everyone to silently take a few steps away from her.

Not many people came to visit. Himeko came once a day. Fu Hua never came again after her first visit, which disappointed Ming Yu a little. However, Lia Toreman's visit was unexpected. Although she only brought flowers and stayed for a short while before leaving, it still surprised Ming Yu quite a bit.

Fearing Ming Yu would be bored alone, Bronya specially brought over the HOMU HOMU Virtual Reality Connector. Although Ming Yu couldn't understand why an immersive VR device had to be shaped like a HOMU and have such a long name, the gadget from the genius girl Bronya was quite impressive. At least, even the St. Freya assessment didn't use something this advanced, or else Ming Yu wouldn't be lying in bed right now.

However, just when Ming Yu was fully expecting to play the kind of games found in online gaming novels, cruel reality dealt him another heavy blow. A VR device that was supposed to be for gaming was turned into a media player by Bronya. She had even carefully selected over a thousand movies and TV series of various genres to ensure there would definitely be a type that Ming Yu liked.

Although a million alpacas were stampeding through his mind, looking at Bronya's innocent eyes, Ming Yu forced himself to praise her. Although the deadpan Bronya couldn't make facial expressions, from the little loli's eyes and her slightly swaying drills, you could still see the girl's happiness.

A few days later, Ming Yu was finally discharged from the hospital, bidding farewell to the decadent life of lying in bed all day. Although his arm had not fully recovered, his daily life was no longer hindered. However, he still needed to rest for a while before he could train and fight. The doctor had originally recommended that he stay in the infirmary to recuperate, but at Ming Yu's strong insistence, his request for discharge was granted.

Although life in the hospital was quite nice, it was ultimately too boring. Resting all the time was not Ming Yu's style.

Accompanied by Mei, Ming Yu returned to the dormitory.

As soon as he returned, Ming Yu noticed that the atmosphere was off. Bronya was sitting on the side, hugging a HOMU doll. Kiana, usually full of energy, was hanging her head like a wilted radish, while Himeko was lecturing her. It seemed Kiana had been caught red-handed again. *I wonder if she kicked down a door or broke a window this time?*

"What's wrong with Kiana again?" Ming Yu asked.

Before Himeko could explain, Bronya jumped in to answer, "Idiot Kiana failed her exams again."

"What do you mean 'again'? This was the first time," Kiana defended in a small voice, trying to save a little face.

As if expecting this, Bronya pulled out Kiana's academic records from her past schools, instantly making Kiana hang her head even lower. This scene sent a chill down Ming Yu's spine. He never thought Bronya had such a mischievous side, going to such lengths just to mess with Kiana. It seemed he had to be careful not to provoke this little loli in the future. Ming Yu silently raised Bronya's danger level by one.

"At least it's the first time at St. Freya," Kiana persisted, though her voice was even quieter.

But even her quiet mumbling was heard by Himeko. Himeko's eyebrow shot up as she roared, "That's because you've only taken one exam at St. Freya!"

Taking a breath, Himeko pointed at the others and said, "Bronya and Mei are at the top of the class, excellent in every subject, we don't even need to talk about them. Even that kid Ming Yu passed. Out of everyone, you're the only one who failed! Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography—your five subjects add up to only fifty-one points. Where did your brain go!?"

Listening on the side, Ming Yu felt a little uncomfortable. *What does she mean 'even I passed'? Am I that bad?* However, Ming Yu wisely chose not to argue with Himeko while she was fuming, instead chalking this up to Kiana's account as well. *Sooner or later, I'll steal a chicken leg from her to settle this debt*, Ming Yu silently vowed.

Bronya remained expressionless, but she was secretly overjoyed. Watching Kiana get into trouble was one of life's greatest pleasures. Mei looked at Kiana, her eyes dark and uncertain, secretly considering whether she should restrict Kiana's meals as punishment.

Himeko's furious roar of disappointment completely shattered Kiana's fragile heart. She looked at Himeko's angry face, clutched her two pigtails, and said on the verge of tears, "What should I do? Auntie will kill me if she finds out~"

Himeko didn't answer immediately. Instead, she slowly sat down, poured herself a glass of water, took a leisurely sip, and then said, "There's no other way. Tutoring and extra training. Don't worry, to make sure you pass, I will train you very, very hard!"

Although her gentle tone was reassuring, when combined with Himeko's devilish smile, it was a completely different story. Kiana envisioned the miserable life ahead of her and couldn't help but shed tears of regret.
