Seeing that even Kiana got a new weapon, Bronya also looked on with anticipation, her eyes blinking as she looked at Ming Yu.
Ming Yu felt a headache coming on as he looked at Bronya's shining eyes. Although Bronya was proficient with all kinds of weapons, this time, Ming Yu had cast her in a support role. The main DPS positions were for Kiana and Kallen. Patting the emotionless girl's head, Ming Yu said softly, "You won't be on the front lines this time. Just stay in the rear. There's a job that only you can do."
Ming Yu hadn't forgotten that in the original story, Bronya had gathered gunpowder to make bombs to draw enemy fire. This time, with Otto helping to gather materials, all she had to do was make them. It would surely go more smoothly than in the original plot.
Though a little disappointed, Bronya understood the need to follow arrangements and nodded in understanding.
Ming Yu smiled. Bronya was so sensible, unlike the one-track-minded Kiana. With the two of them sorted out, the rest was up to him.
Although Black Abyss was only a part of the Sixth Divine Key, it still possessed immense power. He wasn't getting his hopes up too high, but if he didn't even try, how could he be content?
Slowly walking up to the black knight's sword, Ming Yu tried to calm his excitement and focused his attention on it. Although Black Abyss was a knight's sword, it looked more like a long spear. The cylindrical hilt was extremely long, and the black blade was inlaid with purple crystals that faintly shimmered. If one looked closely, it felt as if one's soul could be sucked into it.
Taking a deep breath, Ming Yu placed his right hand on the hilt, gripped it lightly, and closed his eyes to feel the power hidden within Black Abyss. To his senses, Black Abyss was incredibly cold, as if he were holding a block of ice. Waves of coldness continuously emanated from it, and at the same time, it felt like something was being drawn out of his body by the sword.
Ming Yu felt as if he had fallen into an abyss, his body sinking endlessly with no bottom in sight. Far above, there seemed to be a light. From that dim light, some black particles rushed out, gathering into a dense black mist that enveloped his body. His body gradually grew cold, but it wasn't painful. Instead, it felt as comfortable as soaking in a hot spring. All the fatigue in his body vanished, and he felt light and refreshed.
In the eyes of Kiana and the others, ever since Ming Yu gripped the black knight's sword, plumes of black mist had risen from the blade, completely enveloping him. The mist swirled, and Ming Yu's figure flickered in and out of view, indistinct.
"Is that guy Ming Yu going to be okay?" Kiana said with some worry, looking at the black mist.
Bronya didn't answer, merely looking at Otto. If anyone here could explain, it would be Otto. Although she had spent time at Anti-Entropy's headquarters, Bronya's rank was not high enough to have access to information about Divine Keys. Her database was a complete blank on weapons of this level.
Otto was secretly amazed. Although he had agreed to give Black Abyss to Ming Yu, he hadn't expected him to be able to resonate with it, and this resonance was far stronger than Eleanor's. Silently making a mental note of this, Otto explained to the two, "Don't worry. Your friend is resonating with Black Abyss. This situation indicates that he is a very good match for this weapon."
Bronya gave Otto a suspicious glance before turning her attention back to Ming Yu. The black mist was still swirling, but it had thinned considerably, and Ming Yu's body was gradually becoming visible.
With a *hum*, Black Abyss let out a sword cry. Ming Yu's eyes snapped open, a sharp glint flashing through them, and all the black mist instantly returned to the sword.
Seeing Ming Yu reappear, Kiana pointed at him and stammered, "Your... your... hair..."
"Hm?" Ming Yu was puzzled. He felt great right now, full of power. The law of becoming stronger by going bald couldn't be kicking in at this moment, could it? "What's wrong with my hair?"
"Big Brother Yu's hair has turned white," Bronya explained.
Otto produced a mirror from somewhere. Ming Yu took it and saw that his once glossy black hair had all turned white. White hair and black eyes, a completely eerie style. It would have been better to have white hair and red eyes; a chuunibyou style is better than this, Ming Yu couldn't help but complain. As for his hair turning white, Ming Yu didn't feel too strongly about it. Having been immersed in the world of anime, he had seen hair of every color. Mere white hair was just a small scene.
Otto said admiringly, "My friend, it seems Black Abyss suits you well. This will make the plan go even more smoothly."
Ming Yu nodded in agreement. "Yes, with Black Abyss, and Judah, our chances are much greater."
Kiana also looked excited. "Haha, I thought I was the only one with white hair. Now you have white hair too!"
Regarding Kiana's gloating, even though Ming Yu didn't mind the white hair, he couldn't indulge her. He flicked his right hand holding Black Abyss, and the knight's sword dissolved into a cloud of black mist that flowed into his right arm. At the same time, a black sword-shaped tattoo appeared on his right forearm, and his hair reverted from white back to its original black.
Kiana and Bronya watched this scene in amazement. For such a long sword to just disappear was a magical sight to them. It was like a magic trick, but they knew it wasn't a trick; it had really happened.
Ming Yu enjoyed their surprise. He maintained a nonchalant expression and said, "Black Abyss is a weapon forged from Soulium. Changing its form is just a basic function. What's there to be so surprised about?"
"What's so great about that? Sooner or later, I'll have a Soulium weapon too," Kiana said, turning her head away. Though she was envious, she absolutely couldn't show it. That would only make that smug Ming Yu even more pleased.
Bronya nodded as if she had learned something, looking thoughtfully at the mark on Ming Yu's arm.
Listening to their conversation, Otto was analyzing things internally. *Ming Yu even knows about Soulium. It seems Mount Taixu knows no less than I do.* He silently raised his guard against Mount Taixu and Ming Yu.
"Alright, I have given you what you requested, Mr. Yu. I hope you won't disappoint me~" Otto said meaningfully.
"Since Mr. Otto's task is complete, you can leave the rest to us," Ming Yu said with an unchanged expression. Even as just a part of the Sixth Divine Key, Black Abyss was still at a five-star level. It was worthy of being a Divine Key. Although it lacked the White Flower, making the Divine Key incomplete and missing some of its abilities, it was still the strongest piece of equipment Ming Yu had ever come into contact with.
With the boost provided by Black Abyss, Ming Yu had officially stepped into the B-rank tier. If he pushed it to its limits, he was confident he could even fight an A-rank. And that was the source of his confidence!
