Chapter 3 - day of the results

On the morning of the college entrance exam, tension gripped the Luo household. Their parents reminded them to eat well, stay calm, do their best. Luo Feng laughed off the worry; Luo Zheng remained quiet, thoughts heavy with foresight. Inside the exam hall, time ticked steadily away. Pens scratched against paper. Yet midway, both brothers froze, vision blurring. A piercing pain stabbed through their skulls. _Thud!_ Gasps erupted as both twins collapsed unconscious. Invigilators rushed forward; panic spread. Hours later, Luo Feng awoke in a hospital bed, disoriented. Parents hovered nearby, faces etched with fear. But Luo Zheng stirred with purpose. Inside his mind, a mechanical voice whispered— *Twin× System Activated* *Initializing… Synchronizing hosts…* Luo Zheng's ruby eyes flickered. _So it begins._ That night, once parents left, Luo Feng leaned closer, whispering nervously, "Bro… since fainting, I feel strange. Body stronger, senses sharper. Like… I'm alive in a way I wasn't." Luo Zheng's lips curved faintly. "You're not imagining it. I feel the same. Watch." His gaze locked onto a pen. Slowly, it trembled and rose, floating unsteadily. Luo Feng's eyes widened. "No way…" He stretched a hand toward a book. A moment later, the book lifted clumsily, swaying before dropping onto the bed. Silence hung between them. Then identical grins spread. The Evil Twins had awakened something beyond ordinary.

The week following their awakening passed in a blur of secrecy and adjustment.

Each night, once their parents and little brother were asleep, Luo Zheng and Luo Feng would retreat into their shared room. Pens, books, and even chairs floated clumsily under the pressure of their wills. At first, control wavered—pens shot into walls, books crashed to the floor—but soon they could maneuver objects with growing precision.

"Bro, watch this!" Luo Feng grinned one night, his sapphire eyes glowing faintly. Three textbooks hovered in a slow orbit around him. "It's like I'm commanding planets!"

Luo Zheng smirked, floating four pens and a glass cup at once. "Show-off. You're still too slow. In battle, you'd already be dead."

"Hey, give me some credit!" Luo Feng snapped back, his grin wide despite the sweat on his brow. "Even like this, don't you feel unstoppable?"

Unstoppable. The word lingered. Luo Zheng knew the truth: in the original plot, Luo Feng's awakening led to his legendary rise. But now… both twins shared the power. And with the **Twin× System** amplifying them, their path might exceed what destiny once allowed.

Still, Luo Feng worried over the college exams. Even if he had chosen to walk the martial path, he wanted reassurance, proof that he had not disappointed his family.

June 16th arrived.

That evening, the Luo home brimmed with tension. At seven o'clock, Luo Hong Guo sat before the family computer, his hands trembling slightly on the mouse. The results would unlock online at eight.

The whole family gathered. Luo Hai bounced in excitement, Gong Xin Lan wiped her apron nervously, and the twins sat side by side—Luo Feng restless, Luo Zheng calm.

"Don't be nervous," Luo Zheng murmured. "The results won't change who we are."

"That's easy for you to say!" Luo Feng muttered, eyes locked on the screen.

The minutes crawled.

7:30… 7:45… 7:55…

Finally, at eight sharp, the page loaded.

"Luo Feng…" Gong Xin Lan whispered, her breath catching. "Five hundred seventy-three!"

"Yes!" Luo Feng leapt to his feet, relief flooding his face. "I passed! I actually passed!"

"Good! Excellent!" Luo Hong Guo's grin spread ear to ear, the weight lifting from his shoulders.

"And Zheng…" Luo Hai's eyes gleamed as he pointed at the screen.

"Five hundred seventy-eight," Luo Hong Guo read aloud.

"Acceptable," Luo Zheng said calmly.

"Acceptable?!" Luo Feng barked out a laugh, shoving his brother. "You beat me by five points, cold-face! At least pretend to be happy!"

Even Luo Zheng chuckled faintly. But inside, his thoughts darkened. *So, the plot holds steady. Soon Zhang Hao Bai will use his uncle to stir trouble. I'll crush that before it begins.*

At that moment, a mechanical voice echoed in Luo Zheng's mind:

[Ding!]

[New Task: Certify as a Warrior within one month]

[Reward: Spiritual Strength Amplification ×2]

His eyes flickered. *The system moves quickly… good. I must not waste time.*

Meanwhile, word spread through the dojo:

"The Evil Twins fainted during the exam."

"At the exact same time!"

"What kind of coincidence is that?"

Whispers followed them, envy and curiosity mixing in the air. The legend of the Mad Twin and the Ice Cold Twin only grew.

The next morning, the brothers set out for the Extreme Dojo.

The hall was nearly empty when they arrived, its vast space echoing with only a few scattered students. As they entered, a tall man with flaming red hair strode past them. His presence was sharp, heavy, and commanding—like a blade honed in countless battles.

"That's… a warrior," Luo Feng muttered, awe in his voice.

Luo Zheng's ruby eyes studied the man quietly. *So this is what true experience feels like.*

The red-haired man glanced at them once, his gaze unreadable, then moved on.

The twins shook off the encounter and began their tests.

On the speed track, Luo Feng's body blurred faster than he ever remembered, the timer flashing with improved numbers. Luo Zheng struck the fist strength machine—*Bang!*—nearly 950 kilograms.

Both stared in disbelief.

"Bro, I was barely 800 before!" Luo Feng gasped.

"The Twin× System is accelerating us," Luo Zheng said calmly. "At this rate, warrior standards are inevitable."

They trained for over an hour, their growing strength undeniable.

Upstairs, in the dojo lounge, the red-haired man sat across from another instructor.

"Yan Luo," the man chuckled, "after all these years, you still dwell on the past?"

Yan Luo's eyes narrowed, his tone distant. "…Some scars don't fade."

Then he heard the echo of sharp fists and pounding footsteps from below. Curiosity stirred.

He and his companion descended to the hall and saw the twins. Luo Feng sprinted with uncanny speed, while Luo Zheng hammered the strength machine, his strikes disciplined and powerful.

Yan Luo's lips curved into a smile.

Moments later, he approached the brothers, his tone friendly.

"You two… impressive. At your age, to already wield such strength? You could easily pass the quasi-warrior test."

The twins froze, glancing at one another.

Yan Luo waved dismissively. "Forget about school exams. With your talent, your true future lies ahead. Come to Jiang-nan's Tang Yang Zhuo City Extreme Dojo and attempt the quasi-warrior test. If you succeed… you will stand among warriors."

His eyes gleamed as he added, "You're not ordinary students. You're the next generation of fighters."

With that, the red-haired warrior turned and left.

Luo Feng's breath caught, excitement flashing across his face. "Did you hear that, bro? He said we can already pass the test!"

Luo Zheng's lips curved faintly. *The path unfolds just as expected… but this time, we walk it together.*
