Chapter 14 - Chapter 17: In This World, Power Is Everything

Inside the top-floor suite of the Dynasty Nightclub, the red-haired thug ended the call and sneered toward a burly, dark-skinned man nearby. "Brother Jun, that kid will be here any minute."

The man was Wang Jun, a minor leader of the Bailong Society's southern district. At his side lounged a scantily clad temptress, her body pressed against him as his coarse hands wandered across her curves. His triangular eyes gleamed with a chilling menace.

"Tell the brothers to get ready. I want to see for myself if that brat is truly as formidable as you claim."

When Wang Jun had heard earlier of the humiliation suffered by his lackeys, his fury had been boundless. Without hesitation, he had ordered Sun Yurou abducted, intending to use her as bait to lure Ye Chu.

As the red-haired thug departed, Wang Jun turned his gaze to the captive girl. His lips curved into a lecherous smile. "Beauty, just obey me and I might spare your little lover."

Revulsion blazed in Sun Yurou's eyes. Through gritted teeth, she spat, "Dream on. I'd rather die than let a beast like you lay a finger on me."

Smack!

The brazen woman at Wang Jun's side slapped her across the face, leaving a vivid crimson imprint upon her porcelain cheek.

"Stupid slut! Being noticed by Brother Jun is your fortune. Don't play the lofty maiden here." She cast Sun Yurou a contemptuous glance before turning back to Wang Jun with a malicious grin.

"Brother Jun, since this little whore pretends to be so virtuous, why not take her right before that brat's eyes?"

Wang Jun slapped the woman's plump rear and laughed coarsely. "Now that's a fine idea. I like it."

She leaned against him, purring seductively. "And let's record it. If she resists, we'll spread the video across her school."

Terror clouded Sun Yurou's delicate features, despair filling her eyes. If such shame befell her, she would rather not live.

"Mm, that might be worth considering." Wang Jun nodded approvingly, his smile growing ever more wicked. "Think carefully, beauty. I dislike being rough with women—don't force my hand."

Sun Yurou closed her eyes, already resolved: if Ye Chu failed to save her, she would bite through her tongue and end her life rather than be defiled by this animal.

Sensing her resolve, the lascivious woman ordered a lackey, "Give this slut the new pill from the club."

A blue tablet was forced between Sun Yurou's lips despite her desperate struggle. Soon, heat coursed through her veins, her cheeks flushed crimson, and her hands clawed at her clothes as swathes of pale skin became exposed.

"Hahaha! So much for purity. Turns out even the virtuous can burn with lust." The wanton woman laughed wantonly, delight sparkling in her eyes. She relished watching innocence collapse into depravity.

Wang Jun's breath grew heavy. Shoving the woman aside, he growled, "Enough. I can't hold back anymore."

Though a flicker of resentment flashed in the woman's eyes, she dared not interfere.

Yet just as Sun Yurou's fate seemed sealed, the door burst open and a lackey stumbled in.

"Out! Who let you in?" Wang Jun roared.

The underling trembled, stammering, "Brother Jun, Bald Li has arrived."

Wang Jun's expression changed instantly. "Where? Take me to him. Guard this woman." He gave the order and strode out.

Soon, he descended into the deafening maelstrom of the nightclub's main floor. The stage pulsed with wild music, men and women gyrating in frenzied rhythm, while patrons lounged in booths, drinking and reveling in the spectacle.

Led by his lackey, Wang Jun approached a booth where a burly, bald-headed man caroused with underlings, tossing back drinks while his eyes roamed lasciviously over the dancers.

This was none other than Bald Li. Humiliated earlier that day, he had come here to vent his frustrations.

"Brother Li, had I known you were coming, I would have arranged everything in advance," Wang Jun fawned.

Bald Li waved him off. "I'm just here to enjoy myself. Don't bother me—go about your business."

Wang Jun forced a smile. "Then I'll keep you company here."

But Bald Li shot him a glare. "Get lost. Don't disturb my drinking."

Wang Jun dared not protest. Bowing repeatedly, he slunk away. Compared to Bald Li, his own status in the Bailong Society was insignificant.

Meanwhile, Ye Chu arrived at the Dynasty Nightclub in record time, the taxi driver spurred by generous payment. Stepping out, he strode straight to the entrance.

The yellow-haired thug approached with a mocking sneer. "So you actually dared to come?"

Ye Chu's voice was like ice. "Spare me your nonsense. Lead the way."

The chill in his gaze made the thug's heart tremble. Silently, he obeyed, guiding Ye Chu through the thunderous crowd of the dance hall and up toward the private suites.

From Bald Li's booth, one of his men rubbed his eyes, staring at the retreating back of the newcomer. For a moment, he thought it resembled the fearsome figure from earlier that day.

"What is it, Zhang Mazi?" Bald Li asked suspiciously.

The man forced a bitter smile. Surely he was mistaken—how could that demon appear here? Shaking his head, he muttered that it was nothing.

Upstairs, Wang Jun entered his suite and found Sun Yurou flushed and trembling, her delicate lips parting with involuntary gasps. The sight was intoxicating. His eyes burned with lust as he began stripping off his clothes—

But before he could advance, the red-haired thug burst in. "Brother Jun, that kid is here."

Irritation flared across Wang Jun's face—twice now he had been interrupted. Yet the thought of what was to come quickly soothed his temper.

"Are the brothers ready?"

"All set," the red-haired thug replied eagerly. "Dozens of men are waiting in the next suite. At your command, they'll surround him."

Wang Jun nodded, seating himself grandly on the sofa.

The door opened. The yellow-haired thug led Ye Chu inside.

At the sight of him, Sun Yurou's hazy eyes lit with hope. She tried to rise, but the temptress struck her down with another vicious slap. "Slut! Where do you think you're going? Wait here for Brother Jun's pleasure."

Veins bulged on Ye Chu's forehead, his face carved with fury.

The woman only sneered, her tone mocking. "Oh, how touching. Don't worry—this was just the appetizer. The real show is yet to come."

Ye Chu did not reply. He strode forward.

"Stop right there!" Wang Jun barked. "Another step, and I'll break your legs."

But Ye Chu walked on as though deaf.

Wang Jun's expression darkened. One of his lackeys rushed forward, snarling, "Didn't you hear Brother Jun?"

Ye Chu's palm lashed out like lightning, sending the man crashing across the room.

A deadly chill filled Wang Jun's gaze. The red-haired thug immediately reached for his walkie-talkie. Within seconds, dozens of armed thugs stormed the room, encircling Ye Chu with murderous intent.

Wang Jun rose slowly, lips curling into a scornful sneer.

"Boy, you think being able to fight means anything? Out here, fists are worthless. To survive in this world, you need power—backing."

He spread his arms, pride radiating from him.

"I am a man of the Bailong Society. I command dozens of brothers. Influence, manpower, authority—I have it all. And you, you pitiful stray, dare to challenge me?"
