Chapter 6 - Academy

I slowly opened my eyes to the sound of the morning alarm ringing next to my bed. I had unknowingly slept all day after getting home, and now I was awake the next day. I finally realized I was dreaming, dreaming about my previous life and about Lina. As I sat up, I told myself, "Lina, don't worry. This time, your crybaby won't shed a single tear until you're in front of me again." With that, I stood up, and my memories, which were foggy until yesterday, became clear. I had a clue about where to find you. "Lina, please just wait a little. I'm coming to you."

As I said this to myself, I walked out of the room and headed down the corridor. I saw Ronald walking toward me. I thought he was going to wake me up, but I was already awake. When he reached me, he said, "Good morning, young master. I hope you are well. Are you feeling alright or still unwell?"

I replied, "Good morning, Ronald. I am fine, thank you for your concern. I need to get ready and go to the Academy. Please arrange my clothes and essentials."

He responded, "Yes, young master. I will do as you say."

After his reply, I nodded and walked back to my room to take a bath and freshen up before heading to the Academy. I entered my room and walked toward the attached bathroom. My bathroom was as luxurious as the rest of my room, spacious and well-appointed. But I focused on the mirror.

Looking into the mirror, I saw my face, which looked different from my previous self. My current appearance was striking. I had pale white skin and a sharp jawline. My hair was a shade of platinum white with a hint of blue, and my deep black eyes set me apart from the rest of my features, making me look angelic. My completely black eyes resembled a dark abyss.

Right now, I looked very handsome. Maybe my looks came from my parents. As I thought about this, I walked toward the bathtub and continued with my bath.

After finishing my bath and freshening up, I returned to my room and searched through my clothes. I didn't really need to search since I had many options, but I wanted to wear something special today—something that would make me look beautiful enough that no one could look away, as today was a significant day for me.

I almost thought I was acting like a girl, but I shook off that thought and focused on the task at hand. After choosing for a while, I decided on a white silk shirt with black formal pants and topped it off with a black coat that looked fabulous.

Once I finished dressing, I took a last look in the mirror to ensure everything was in place. Then I walked out of my room, made my way down the corridor, and reached the stairs. I went down to the ground floor, where I found Ronald standing by the side of the stairs. He said politely, "Young master, breakfast is ready."

I replied, "No need for that, Ronald. I'm already late. I'll eat at the Academy, so please let the servants have it. For now, arrange my transportation. I need to go to the Academy right away."

With that, I walked toward the large door of the mansion. Stepping outside, I saw a vast garden filled with various statues, fountains, and exotic plants. I admired the scenery for a moment before a convoy of luxury cars arrived. Soon, Ronald came out of the mansion and opened the door of the middle car, which looked like a high-tech limousine. He said, "Master, your transportation is ready."

I nodded and got into the car. Ronald climbed in too and took a folder from a suitcase. He showed it to me and said, "Master, this is the report on the estate, our business, and expenses that you asked for. You fell asleep yesterday from exhaustion, so I didn't have time to give it to you."

I took the folder and began reading it carefully, as I managed the business and expenditures. While most of my wealth came from my parents, I had also earned a significant portion myself. They left me a large mansion and an auction house, but I grew the estate steadily. Now, I owned one of the biggest banks in the city and held shares in many companies.

I held a prominent position here, so even at 16 years old and studying at the Academy, I didn't have to attend every day. I was one of the trustees there. The Academy I was headed to was called Golden Star Academy, where the children of the wealthy came to study and awaken their talents to become stronger.

In the martial world, everyone can awaken their talents. If someone cannot, they may not meet the requirements to awaken. Therefore, the government of this continent, in partnership with seven empires, implemented a law stating that every child from ages 12 to 20 must attend school to try awakening their talent with the help of awakening stones—magical materials used to forcefully awaken talents.

Participants can try to awaken their talent a maximum of three times; beyond that, they must pay for the awakening stone if they wish to keep using it. I had already awakened my talent, called "Ice World," which was a high-level talent at the Martial Saint level. I awakened it when I was 12 years old, making me the most talented young person in the city.

As I pondered all this, the convoy of cars stopped at a large gate. Ronald said, "Master, we have arrived at our destination." I got out of the car and looked at the gate, which had the words "Golden Star Academy" inscribed on it. I didn't waste time thinking about anything and entered the Academy, telling the convoy to wait for me outside, as I always did.

Walking slowly, I looked around, noticing other students showing various expressions upon seeing me, but I ignored them. Then my eyes caught someone, and I paused my search.
