Heaven stirred with a rare silence as Lucian stood beneath the grand archway of the throne room, flanked by his mother, Zelda, and father, Emperor Ray. The air was unusually heavy, thick with expectation, reverence, and the bitter taste of departure.
Lucian, the prince who had once turned Heaven into his playground, was now a warrior prepared for war. Word had spread like divine wildfire that he had defeated the Martial God in combat, an undefeated Warborn, a living legend. Though the martial god had limited himself to raw martial arts, it was no small feat. And for Heaven, it marked the end of an era of mischief and the beginning of a divine crusade.
Ray turned to his son, his voice calm but weighty. "Are you ready, Lucian?"
Lucian met his father's gaze with steady eyes. "Yes, Father."
With a breath, Lucian summoned his god armor. Purple Origin energy spiraled around him like a storm tamed only by will. The armor clung to his form like a second skin, sleek, powerful, and radiant. At his waist hung a katana made from the condensed essence of his soul, narrow, deadly, beautiful.
Zelda, ever the storm hiding behind regal calm, walked up to him. Her eyes were sharp, yet full of maternal dread. "I wish you wouldn't go."
Lucian gave her a soft smile. "I must. The Void beings are tormenting mortals. If we wait any longer, there might be nothing left of them." Lucian didn't say this because he cared, but because his father once banned him from going to the primordial realm, and for some reason he find the realm comforting. The mortals where filled with emotions, and they reacted to everything he did the equivalent, even though they did not know who he was, he was truly mortal when he lived among them.
Ray stepped forward, holding a golden staff that pulsed with celestial power. With a single strike to the air, a portal tore open, an oval of swirling cosmic mist.
"This is the Path of Samsara, the road of reincarnation. You must walk it to descend safely."
Lucian raised a brow. "Why Samsara? I can descend directly. I'm Origin incarnate. The laws don't bind me like the others."
Ray nodded. "That's exactly why you mustn't go directly. Your power would rip the Primordial Realm apart. It was not built to hold beings like us. Samsara will recalibrate your divine essence, restrict it to mortal-compatible levels, but your body remains the same." Even though Ray I knew his son's powers, even though he was aware that Lucian could blend and truly become a mortal if he willed, he also knows the side effects to that. If Lucian went as he was and chose to blend in with the mortals, he would have limited time there and he wound he bound by his will not to reveal his powers unless he wants to return to heaven. That would not be good for his mission.
Lucian exhaled, understanding the gravity of it all. His mother clasped his hand one final time.
"Be careful. The number of Void beings and their true purpose are still unknown. Think before you act."
Lucian smirked. "I always do."
Both parents coughed in unison. All of heaven knew Lucian to act before he thinks. He chuckled, took one last look at the throne room, and stepped into the portal.
Lucian walked through the path of reincarnation with light steps, with each step, he could view the life of mortals and the tribulations they were passing through. What annoyed him the most was that the mortals who were made in the likeness of the Otaenians, humans, where weak compared to other life forms. But the most crazy thing about all this was the fact that he could sense the protection of Origin on them but why are they weak? Still walking down the path of reincarnation, he immediately understood the laws and patterns governing it and happily bragged in his mind of how brilliant he was. But something happened. Just as he was gloating in his achievement, he walked through a path where a group of human was being chased.
"There are spots that are heavily protected by gods divinity and a few immortals, why are these ones outside of it?" Lucian wondered as he watched them being chased by the void beings. Just as the humans where running, one fell and he was immediately eaten, some were caught and was shared immediately as food for the void beings. The remaining two, a male and a female were immediately surrounded and taunted.
Then
"Dear god, if you could hear me, come to my aid, rescue me and I promise to be devoted to you all my life" The female prayed.
" Stop praying, if they could help they would have helped since. Maybe they aren't even real" The male said while getting ready to fight. It was better to die fighting than die while praying and begging
Lucian looked curiously at her but then he saw a thick energy swirling around her and coming towards the reincarnation path, but he put no mind in it.
The immortals have a god who represented them on the god realm, the netherworld has a god who represented them on the god realm, but the primordial realm? There was no representative for them.
"That's origin isn't it?" Lucian wondered as the energy kept rising towards the sky of the primordial realm. "Origin planted himself in them, and gave them power to control it through prayer?" Lucian wondered as he watched patiently. He wanted to see if any god would answer them, or if origin will...
"F**k, damn it" Lucian immediately understood where the prayers were coming too and took for his heels. The reincarnation path was huge, he would run to hide.
But just as he ran, the energy which was rising towards him noticed, and as of afraid that Lucian won't answer it, it sped faster than the speed of light towards Lucian.
Lucian who thought he could outrun pure Origin energy was caught by his foot, while struggling to free himself, the energy forcefully dragged him down towards the primordial realm.
"By the Mother..." Was lucian's last word before he was dragged down.
The primordial realm.
The female who prayed remained silent as she gave up all hope of praying, her eyes were teary as she said in a weak voice "let us go" she cried. Her legs became weak as she fell limpy on her buttocks on the ground.
"Hehehehe, why should we?" The void beings circled round them like a snake watching its prey, their eyes was intense and from deep within, the girl could see danger and malice.
Fear gripped her as she wept even more, her life flashed before her as she said her silent prayer once more 'please help' she said inwardly, hoping her prayers would be heard. She wasn't ready to die yet, she still had unfulfilled dreams, she wanted to be strong, strong enough to stand tall in this hell called world. But all her dreams would just...
Boom!
The earth under their feet quaked as a purple light fell on two void beings, the wind of the descent pushed her and her colleague 50 meters away, and at the place where the light fell, a deep crater was formed around 40 of it.
"My god" The girl gasped as she was surprised at how her prayers worked. Though she had faith that it would, she never expected it to be this...loud?
"F**k, f**k, f**k" She heard the voice swear from deep within the Crater. Immediately she felt a terrifying energy that erupted from the hole and another voice "did I say you could leave" the voice said again. Only then did she look and saw her nightmare, the void being running away but stopped as they hear the void being voice. Then put flew a being so divine but vulgar from the deep Crater.
He was so handsome and cool that there was no word to describe him, his veins were so big that it threatened to burst out his forehead, and his expression was so tensed that it even looked cooler...
"So cool" she muttered as she watches the divine being with shiny eyes.
Then the being looked at her with feverent look (anger) then immediately send a fiery blade towards one of the void being, then flew slowly towards the other, his display of power was enough to scare that one silly.
Lucian landed in front of it, eyes like stars collapsed into fury. "Tell the others. Tell them their era of unchecked slaughter ends now."
The being bowed its head and vanished into the shadows.
Behind him, the two mortals, bloodied, terrified, and wide-eyed, watched their salvation take form. Lucian turned to them. "You're safe now. Find shelter. Never stray outside protection again." He was angry, not only was his epic entry in the primordial realm turned to a shameful one where he fell into the pit, he also had to try his best to get his spoilt image which seems spoilt already
The woman fell to her knees, weeping in gratitude. The man stared, stunned, before slowly nodding.
But then.
"You can't leave like this can you?"
