Chapter 37 - Chapter 37: New York

Early in the morning, Andy put on a sports vest, shorts, and running shoes, said goodbye to Li Wanqing, and left home. He met Joseph, who was also wearing sports equipment, in the lobby downstairs of the apartment building.

Andy stretched his muscular body as he walked, occasionally attracting the attention of some women on the street.

Across the street, you can see dense woods. Andy's morning exercise place is Central Park.

Central Park is a rectangular green space located in the heart of Manhattan, bounded by 5th and 8th Avenues and 59th and 110th Streets. Its vast size and rich flora and fauna make it hard to imagine it existing in such a commercialized international metropolis.

Looking at Central Park on the map, it is a neat square that occupies one-eighth of the size of Lower Manhattan. Apart from a small park castle, there is no commercial or residential building in the park. The towering trees, green lawns, and large and small lakes make Central Park a legend in bustling New York.

The air in the early morning was really fresh. Andy felt his breathing was extremely smooth and comfortable when he started jogging.

"Boss, your running rhythm is wrong. You need to coordinate the pace of your feet and the rhythm of your breathing. If you run slowly, you can try to inhale after three steps and exhale after three steps. Inhale through your mouth and nose at the same time, and exhale through your mouth." Joseph saw that Andy's breathing was very chaotic when he was running. He knew that Andy had not mastered the running skills, so he quickly caught up with him and taught him at the same speed.

"Huff~~~Breathe~~~"

Andy began to slowly adapt to this breathing rhythm according to Joseph's instructions. Although he felt a little awkward at the beginning, he still adapted through continuous adjustments.

"When running, the body's need for oxygen increases. If you only breathe through your nose while running, it will not be able to meet the body's need for oxygen. At this time, it will inevitably force the respiratory muscles to increase their activity and speed up the breathing rate to increase the lung ventilation volume to meet the body's need for oxygen. As a result, the respiratory muscles will fatigue more quickly, which will affect the oxygen supply." Joseph explained to Andy.

"Huh~~So what about your special forces skills?" Andy found that although Joseph was talking while running, his breathing was not disordered, so he asked curiously.

"Actually, there's no particular technique. Everyone's physical fitness is different, and their breathing rhythm varies from person to person. The only general rule is tactical breathing. Inhale every four seconds, and exhale every four seconds. This allows the brain to absorb more oxygen in a short period of time, thus calming the mind." Joseph saw that Andy had adapted to the breathing rhythm of running, so he stopped talking and disturbed his jogging after he finished his explanation.

The two crossed Central Park West and the West Trail, following the trail to Strawberry Fields. Heading north, follow any path on the West Trail, then turn right to the 79th Street transom. Continue east, passing the intersection of the 79th Street transom and the East Trail, and take the South Trail to the Warm Pond. Follow the trail west, crossing the East Trail and entering the Loeb Lake Boatyard. Go south through the brick tunnel at the fountain, passing under the 72nd Street transom to join the boulevard.

To Andy, all the scenery he passed by was both familiar and strange and fresh. This feeling was very contradictory, as if a strange scene suddenly appeared one day and he found that he seemed to have encountered it before, or perhaps in a dream.

There were more and more people jogging on the boulevard in the morning. Andy looked at the sports watch on his wrist and saw that more than 20 minutes had passed.

Andy stretched out his five fingers and combed his sweat-soaked hair back into a bun, revealing his handsome face and tall, strong body. The sweat made his complexion look even whiter under the sunlight, which attracted the attention of many women around him, who cast passionate glances at him.

"Ahem..." Andy couldn't bear it anymore and turned around to go back the same way. From time to time, he could hear the giggles of some women behind him. For someone who was used to the subtlety and concealment of China, he was still a little uncomfortable with the boldness of the United States.

After running back home, Andy took a shower and the family of three started to eat breakfast.

"Your muscles are really amazing." Auston looked at his son's shirtless body, the amazing muscle lines, especially the eight-pack abs, and couldn't believe it. He said with a hint of jealousy.

"That's right, son, you're in such great shape now. When it was published in the magazine, I thought they had photoshopped it for fun. Wow, look at these abs, Auston, you should go to the gym too!" Li Wanqing nodded repeatedly to express her amazement, stretched out her fingers and poked her son's abs repeatedly, glanced at her husband, thought of his little belly, and said unhappily.

"Why involve me! I go to play golf regularly." Auston glared at Andy fiercely. It was all because of his son that he suffered such misfortune.

"Haha, this is all thanks to the fitness coach. My muscles could have been trained to be even more muscular, but I don't like those big muscles, they're too exaggerated. I still like Bruce Lee's kind, with clear and soft lines. Now these muscle lines are mainly because of the boxing practice in the past two months, they are more powerful." Andy didn't care about his father's hostility. He showed his neat white teeth and explained to Li Wanqing with a sunny smile.

"Hmph! What are your plans for today?" Seeing that the mother and son ignored him, Austin snorted coldly and continued to ask.

"Nothing much, just going out for a walk first. To be honest, I haven't been to New York for a long time. The day after tomorrow I'm going to record Saturday Night Live. It's not a big deal, just singing a song and it will be over quickly. There's nothing else to do." Andy shrugged and roughly described his itinerary.

"Do you need me to accompany you? It seems like I haven't been shopping for a long time..." Li Wanqing's eyes lit up and she said excitedly.

"No~~~ Mom, you don't have to delay your work to accompany me. I'm just going for a walk. To be honest, when I was running in Central Park this morning, I realized how long it has been since I last visited places like the New York Library and Lincoln Center?" Andy hurriedly stopped Li Wanqing from accompanying him. He was going for a sightseeing trip, but he didn't want to be walked to death by her shopping. A woman would immediately turn into a terrifying creature who never gets tired when shopping.

"What's the point of going alone? Let me accompany you!" Li Wanqing seemed determined to accompany her son shopping.

"How can I be alone? Joseph and Kenny will accompany me, so I won't feel lonely. You'd better go to work with peace of mind. I'm not a child anymore." Andy's mouth twitched slightly, and he smiled bitterly in his heart, trying to stop her.

"Okay then, but why aren't your two bodyguards here?" Li Wanqing seemed very unwilling to be rejected. Her excitement disappeared in an instant and she asked with a bit of disappointment.

"They've checked into the hotel next door and will be waiting for me downstairs. They're supposed to be close protection. Although there are many guest rooms at home, I'm afraid it will be troublesome if they move in." Andy expressed his thoughts.

Auston nodded. He also didn't like outsiders disturbing his privacy, even though they were his son's bodyguard.

"Staying in a hotel all the time is not a solution." Li Wanqing asked with concern.

"If it doesn't work out, I'll just rent an apartment. After all, I'll need to live in New York for a while." Andy expressed his plan.

Auston saw the change in his wife's expression and said hurriedly, "That's fine. I've already prepared an apartment for you. It's for college. It's a little small, and no one has lived in it since it was renovated. But there's a housekeeping company that cleans it regularly, so you can move in directly."

"No! What's wrong with you? You're rushing out just as your son comes back. What do you mean?" Li Wanqing glared at Austin and asked loudly.

"Mom, calm down first and don't get excited. Well, after all, it will be very inconvenient to have outsiders living in the house. What's more, it's not that I won't come back, I just want to settle the bodyguards. After all, Carl has no place to live in New York, and living in a hotel all the time is really not a good thing. This is not a matter of one or two days. I can't let them stay in a hotel every time I go back to New York." Although Andy knew why his father cooperated with him, as long as he could achieve his goal, it was fine.

"Okay, but if you want to live at home, just let Carl and the bodyguard live there. It's settled. I'll call the housekeeping company to clean it later. Let's eat now." Li Wanqing waved her hand, not giving the father and son a chance to speak.

After dinner, the parents went out to work. After receiving a call from Joseph, Andy changed his clothes and went downstairs.

Perhaps few cities have been described and fictionalized as much as New York. Many people fall in love with this city as soon as they arrive.

The essence of New York is actually in Manhattan. This is also what Andy saw when he was sitting in a Cadillac business car and looking out the window at the scenery that was both familiar and unfamiliar. To be honest, there was nothing else except skyscrapers. However, when Andy stood in the square in front of the Empire State Building and looked up, this building that had appeared countless times in Hollywood movies was really too famous.

He just stood there silently gazing up for a few minutes before turning around and leaving without any regrets. Joseph stood in front of the car, opened the door for Andy, got in, and said to Kenny, "Let's go to Wall Street."

Wall Street is actually very narrow, so narrow that it has almost become a tourist pedestrian street.

The car stopped on the side of the road on Wall Street. Andy looked at the crowded sidewalk. As expected, the movie did not deceive him. There were really a lot of people.

There are four attractions to visit on Wall Street: Trinity Church, Federal Hall, New York Stock Exchange, and the Wall Street Bull.

Andy strolled along the street, out of tune with the hurried crowd around him, and saw a church with a tall spire. This was the oldest Trinity Church in the United States. Built in 1846, this Gothic building has a rose-colored sandstone exterior and a 26-meter-high spire. The cemetery behind the church is where many outstanding early New Yorkers are buried.
