Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: Weeping for the Dead

The scene continued to play.

Chips rained down, and the golden light barrier continued to expand, seemingly wanting to engulf the entire Penacony.

A muffled laugh came from beneath the mask as Aventurine stood high in the sky, looking down at the crowd below.

"An Emissary—you'll definitely follow the bet, right?"

[Himeko: There's an Emissary present? I think this must be referring to Miss Huangquan, right?]

[Huangquan: I'm afraid I am not an Emissary.]

At this moment, in this scene, Aventurine stood poised, ready to strike. He suddenly swung his arm, and the column of chips, which had been descending slowly but with a sense of oppression, suddenly poured down like a torrential rain.

Accompanied by the sharp whistling sound of the chips falling rapidly like arrows, they, like arrows leaving a bowstring, mercilessly launched a fierce attack on the towering skyscrapers in Golden Hour.

Under the impact of the powerful force, the originally indestructible stone walls instantly shattered into countless fragments, and the fragile glass was even more vulnerable, bursting outwards. These broken objects, like shrapnel, flew out at an astonishing speed, then heavily crashed to the ground, emitting dull thudding sounds. At the same time, rolling clouds of smoke rose up like surging waves, engulfing the entire space.

Facing Aventurine's fierce and sharp offensive, Himeko and Welt did not hesitate, quickly shielding March 7th and Stelle. Himeko's chainsaw began to emit a terrifying tearing roar; while Welt summoned a deep, small black hole in his hand that was gradually expanding, attempting to stop Aventurine's attack.

[March 7th: Oh, Uncle Yang and Himeko are both blocking for us.]

[Stelle: Uncle Yang will hold up the sky if it falls, that's what you said.]

[March 7th: Hehe~]

However, Huangquan, who stood behind them, merely watched everything unfolding before her. Her eyes revealed a hint of helplessness and regret, and she let out a soft sigh, as if she had already anticipated the outcome of this battle.

Time seemed to be frozen, everything flowed extremely slowly, and only Huangquan's figure remained in the shot.

The chips falling from the sky, accompanied by drops of rain, descended from above. They passed by her in slow motion like crystal clear pearls, then gently drifted to the ground.

[Sushang: What happened! Time has become so slow, even the rainwater...]

[Welt: Miss Huangquan's speed is too fast. From her perspective, the world moves at such a slow pace, even Aventurine's movements.]

Immediately after, she unhesitatingly took firm steps, moving past the figures of several people, as if strolling through decelerated time, and arrived at the very front line of the attack. She slowly raised her arm high, and red patterns began to spread from her palm, extending all the way up her arm.

"May I mourn for the departed, crying tears like rain, filling the river..."

As these words left her mouth, the color on Huangquan's body further receded, and her signature purple long hair also turned completely white at this moment. She slowly raised the saber in her hand, her right hand gently grasping the hilt, as if feeling something.

Just then, she opened her eyes, and drops of bloody tears flowed down her cheeks, leaving crimson streaks on her incomparably beautiful face.

Suddenly, the entire screen began to flicker. In that instant, a shocking scene appeared before everyone's eyes: a girl with two horns on her head stood steadily in a massive sword mound, her hand resting on a long saber hanging at her waist.

However, this scene only flashed for a moment, then quickly disappeared like an illusion. When the screen switched back, Huangquan had completely drawn the long saber from its sheath.

"Like a surging tide, leading you home." Accompanied by Huangquan's soft whisper, a powerful and mysterious force surged from her body.

The unsettling rendering gradually dimmed, and everything around seemed to lose its color. Between Heaven and Earth, only Huangquan's strikingly beautiful red remained. The moment the blade left its sheath, Huangquan swung the long saber in her hand fiercely, and a blood-red light shot out like lightning, striking directly at Aventurine.

Instantly, the blood-red blade light, like a nascent crescent moon, rapidly expanded into a black and white ripple that covered the sky. The chips unfortunate enough to be swept by the blade light, as if losing their supporting force, fell helplessly. With a deafening explosion, the chips burst apart, turning into countless fragments that shot backward.

Facing such a magnificent aura, Aventurine was utterly powerless, able only to watch as the fatal blade light approached him. With a muffled groan from Aventurine, the blade light mercilessly engulfed him.

However, this fleeting blade light did not stop there; it continued forward, easily shattering the light barrier that Aventurine had previously used to envelop Clock Studios Theme Park.

The aftermath of the terrifying power unleashed surged like a raging tsunami, sweeping madly towards the surrounding tall buildings.

Amidst deafening "rumbling" sounds, thick smoke billowed up, covering the sky and seeming to engulf the entire world.

Then, the light and dust completely dispersed, vanishing without a trace, just as they had appeared without warning.

If it weren't for the huge gap still remaining in the sky, cleaved open by that single saber strike, the audience watching would probably have thought that the scene they had just witnessed was merely an illusion.

After two strikes, Huangquan slowly sheathed her saber. The raindrops, which had seemed frozen, also resumed their flow, continuously sprinkling down upon the earth.

[March 7th: So, so terrifying! Is this strength something a person can truly possess?! She actually cleaved a huge hole in the dream with one strike.]

[Huangquan: One strike... that description isn't accurate. It was actually two strikes, just that the second strike was very fast.]

[March 7th: Oh! That's not the point! I didn't expect Miss Huangquan to be so strong!]

[Botio: Meow, you precious thing, a Sea Ranger, huh? Your power definitely doesn't come from the Path of The Hunt.]

[Huangquan: ...I'm sorry, I'm indeed not a Sea Ranger, but I am here to fulfill a friend's dying wish.]

[Huangquan: He had an heirloom he wanted to entrust to a Sea Ranger, but because Sea Rangers are always elusive and unpredictable, it's truly difficult to find them, so I had no choice but to come up with this method.]

[Botio: My little darling, give me your address, I'm coming to find you now.]
