Back on Cake Island, inside the massive Cake Castle, the battle was over and the feast had begun.
As the cheerful Homies brought in mountains of delicacies and desserts that Charlotte Linlin desired, Kaido sat at her table and ravenously devoured them all. He acted as if he owned the place, completely unconcerned.
About an hour later, the feeling of fullness in his stomach finally made Kaido let out a satisfied sigh.
Just as he leaned back, the doors to the great hall opened. A man with a clown-like face walked in, looking extremely nervous. He was flanked by the towering Katakuri and the small figure of Pudding. This was Big Mom's nineteenth son, Charlotte Mondor, the user of the Book-Book Fruit.
Kaido and Big Mom already had the information they needed. Pudding's Memory-Memory Fruit had successfully pulled all of Kozuki Sukiyaki's hidden knowledge about the Road Poneglyphs. But those were just memories; they weren't physical documents. They couldn't be easily shared, passed around, or even preserved for the future.
That's where Mondor came in. Following his mother's orders, he had taken all the memories Pudding extracted and used his unique Devil Fruit power to convert them. He turned the abstract memories into physical text and images, binding them into books for permanent preservation.
"Mom... I've finished!" Mondor said, his voice trembling as he held out two thick, newly-created books. He handed them to Katakuri, who remained silent as always.
Katakuri took the books and approached the two Emperors.
Charlotte Linlin, who had been completely focused on stuffing her face with food, immediately brightened. She snatched one book from Katakuri's hand and began to read it, her eyes scanning the pages. Kaido took the other.
They both flipped through the pages very quickly. After half an hour, they silently exchanged the books and continued reading. These books were exactly what Kaido had envisioned: a dictionary. They were a complete guide to deciphering the ancient Poneglyphs, created directly from Kozuki Sukiyaki's stolen memories.
When he was finished, Kaido closed the cover. He didn't find any issues.
"Not bad," Kaido grunted. Even he had to offer a rare compliment. The whole process, from arriving in Totto Land to holding this priceless decoder, had taken only five days.
Kaido thought to himself that his own Beasts Pirates had no one with such useful, specific talents. It was true, no matter what world you were in, talent was always the most important resource. With this Poneglyph dictionary, Kaido finally possessed the ability to interpret the ancient stones himself.
Kaido put away the book and looked at Charlotte Linlin with a rare, shark-like smile. "How about it, Linlin? I told you, didn't I? This cooperation is a win-win for both of us."
Linlin was clearly in a very good mood. She handed her copy of the book to Katakuri for safekeeping. "Mamamamma! That's right, you brat," she laughed loudly. "At least you have a conscience and remember the favor I did for you all those years ago."
"Hmph. Let's not talk about the past, Linlin," Kaido grunted, his smile fading. "Now it's time for us to discuss the future."
Linlin's expression turned serious. She knew he was right. "Katakuri, go call Perospero."
She wished as few people as possible knew about this next conversation. But a matter this important, an alliance of this scale, could not bypass Perospero. He was her eldest son and the general manager of the entire pirate crew.
Soon, Perospero arrived, licking his signature candy cane. He was clearly nervous. He had only seen Kaido for a moment when the other Emperor arrived five days ago. After that, Cake Island was completely sealed off. Even he, the eldest son, wasn't allowed to enter the castle. He knew, of course, that Mom and Kaido were discussing something extraordinary.
But he never expected what his mother said next. Her words shocked him to the core.
"Listen up, Perospero!" Linlin's voice boomed across the hall. "From now on, our BIGMOM Pirates and the Beasts Pirates are forming an alliance!"
Boom. The word hit Perospero like a cannonball. His heart trembled violently. He couldn't understand what was happening. Why would Mom suddenly ally with Kaido? It had to be related to what happened these past five days.
He quickly glanced at Katakuri, Pudding, and Mondor, who were standing nearby. His suspicions were confirmed. His three younger siblings' faces showed some surprise, but more than that, they had an expression of being prepared. They already knew.
As Perospero's curious gaze swept over his siblings, Charlotte Linlin's face twisted with impatience.
"Hey, Perospero! What are you looking at?" she snarled.
Feeling his mother's displeasure, Perospero was startled and quickly looked away. "N-nothing, Mom!"
"Hmph!" Linlin snorted coldly. "Perospero, you remember this: don't pry into things you shouldn't know. Understand?"
A terrifying killing intent radiated from her, and Perospero immediately broke out in a cold sweat. "Yes, Mom!"
Charlotte Linlin retracted her killing intent and let out a sinister smile. "Mamamamma! Although our BIGMOM Pirates and the Beasts Pirates have formed an alliance, it's not time to announce it just yet." She cackled. "After all, an alliance between two Emperors of the Sea would scare half the world to death! However, that doesn't mean we can't start making some preparations first, does it?"
Perospero's eyes immediately lit up. His mind, always scheming, started spinning. "Mom, what kind of preparations are you referring to?"
Linlin didn't answer. She just grinned and looked over at Kaido. Everyone else in the room understood her meaning and also turned their gaze to Kaido.
Kaido didn't wait to be asked. He laughed loudly, a deep "Worororo!" He took a large gulp of sake from his gourd. "It's simple."
He slammed the gourd down. "You should all know the news by now. The Marines and the Whitebeard Pirates are about to go to war."
"Whitebeard is bound to lose this battle," Kaido stated as if it were a fact. "At that time, whether that old fool survives or not, the Whitebeard Pirates will be finished. They'll no longer be able to call themselves one of the Four Emperors."
As Big Mom's eldest son and the general manager of the pirates, Perospero was very intelligent. His eyes lit up instantly. He understood the opportunity.
"I see, Lord Kaido... Then..." he began, then glanced at Big Mom for permission. Seeing that his mother had no objections, he continued, asking the crucial question. "How will the territories of the Whitebeard Pirates be divided between our BIGMOM Pirates and the Beasts Pirates?"
"It's simple!" Kaido boomed again, his voice filled with a terrifying, great ambition. "Why do you think the Beasts Pirates would ally with Big Mom? If it's just to deal with the challenges of this new era... Worororo... there's no need for that at all!
"Our alliance has only one true enemy: the World Government and the Marines! As for 'Red Hair,' he's only half an enemy."
As everyone present—even the composed Katakuri—stared in shock, Kaido raised his sake gourd and drank deeply. He slammed it down again, revealing his true, world-changing thoughts.
"Therefore, our alliance has only one purpose," Kaido declared, his voice dropping to a low growl. "We will establish a super nation that can finally contend with the World Government and the Marines!"
"A... super nation!" Perospero's entire expression tightened in complete shock.
This was the first time Katakuri was hearing their true intentions, and even his usually calm eyes widened. Mondor, on the other hand, was shaking, not from fear, but from raw excitement.
"Mamamamma! That's right... that's right, that's it!" Charlotte Linlin shouted, just as excited as her son. "A nation even bigger and greater than Totto Land!"
Kaido burst into his signature laugh. "Worororo! So, our first step is clear. We will completely connect the territories of the BIGMOM Pirates and our Beasts Pirates. We will form one vast nation, with Wano Country and Totto Land as its two central points..."
