Kyojiro smiled as the tailed beast finally stepped closer… his massive face lowering down, the great eyes coming closer to Kyojiro's own.
A soft breath of air left Isobu's nostrils — a warm, heavy exhale that nearly wiped out all the grass around him.
Yet Kyojiro stood straight, utterly unfazed, as if this immense pressure meant nothing.
"Isobu… I have known of the injustice that occurred with you," Kyojiro's voice softened into something sympathetic, steady, and painfully sincere. "With all your siblings. How humans imprisoned you… jailed you, tortured you."
Isobu looked again at the human. Even though the beast knew better, even though centuries of instincts screamed otherwise… for the first time, something inside him faltered.
Because this human… he truly seems concerned about us.
Kyojiro continued, "I came here to warn you… and to give you an option."
His voice shifted, growing harder, heavier. "In the future, a war is coming. Someone wishes to control the entire ninja world."
Isobu shook his head, irritation mixing with weariness. "What does that have to do with me? I do not care about human matters. After all, you men are more beastlike than us."
His voice, though still powerful, now carried a trace of sadness.
Kyojiro nodded calmly. "However… this time, the man who seeks control has his eyes set on you tailed beasts as well."
He took a breath. "He wants to revive the Ten-Tails — capture all of you — and become its jinchūriki."
He didn't stop. "You are all in danger. This is worse than becoming slaves to humans. If he succeeds, all of you will die… and the world will drown in chaos."
Isobu's eyes narrowed, suspicion still burning. "And why should I believe you? You are a human. Despite your knowledge, you must be trying to deceive us somehow."
Kyojiro nodded once more. "I understand why you think so."
He raised his hands forward. "So instead of speaking… I can show you."
A hush fell over the world. Even the wind seemed to pause.
Isobu stared at the man, perplexed by the unwavering sincerity radiating from him.
He didn't need a reminder of what he was — a tailed beast, a calamity born of chakra, a creature who had ended countless lives: children, mothers, fathers.
Yet this man… this fragile human… was willingly offering his mind for Isobu to see.
To save them?
Isobu hesitated — then lowered his head. "Then let me."
His scales touched Kyojiro's head.
The surroundings shattered instantly — the world turning foggy, the air turning stale.
Isobu could no longer feel his body.
It was as if he were suspended in a formless void.
The mind.
He was inside Kyojiro's mind.
Countless glowing lights floated in the air… orbs of shifting, interwoven color that bent and twisted with every slight movement. They mingled like strands of sunlight, dancing together in perfect harmony — yet guarded.
Despite Kyojiro's permission, the mind itself refused to give up its secrets.
Isobu recognized it immediately… and waited.
Soon, a single blind orb — pale, shivering, curious — slowly drifted toward him.
Afraid, seeking, uncertain… yet moving with deliberate purpose.
Isobu remained still.
The orb touched his scales.
Isobu's eyes widened.
Thousands of images exploded inside his head — a war, an army of shinobi rushing at a single man; a Sharingan so dark it sucked the world in; a Susanoo so vast and monstrous it chilled even the Three-Tails' ancient spine.
More images flooded through — he saw every single one of his siblings hunted… captured… sealed away like insects.
Even he — proud, ancient, mighty — was tossed aside like he was nothing.
The images kept tearing themselves open, unraveling the truth brutally, relentlessly, and for the first time in centuries…
Isobu recoiled.
He understood everything Kyojiro wished to show him.
Words can lie.
Genjutsu can lie.
But pure, unfiltered mind-to-mind memory… that could never lie.
The moment Isobu pulled back, his senses slammed back into him — the cool ocean breeze, the gentle crash of waves, the moonlight glistening across the water.
And for the first time, Isobu looked at the human with genuine concern.
"Then what can we do?" he asked quietly. "Those humans… they are far stronger than me. Than us."
Shock and despair laced his voice.
If the Three-Tails itself was so helpless… what hope was there?
A thought sparked in his mind. Perhaps only big brother Kurama could do something.
Yet the thought died immediately.
Kurama hadn't been in the memories.
At least… not with them.
Kyojiro slowly shook his head. He turned his face upward toward the sky, as though the blindfold didn't matter.
"Maybe you aren't enough alone. And maybe I alone am not enough."
He lowered his head, blind eyes facing Isobu with startling clarity.
"But together…"
A thin smile formed.
"Together, we are stronger."
Isobu's eyes widened. Together? With a human? Even this one?
The future he had seen burned like fire in his chest — rage, fear, desperation all swirling together.
"And what then?" Isobu growled. "Become your slave? Let you use my power under the excuse of concern? No."
Kyojiro looked up again. "I know you can sense my sincerity. And I, Kyojiro, promise you this — if you choose to ally with me… I will free you all from humans. I will give you a safe haven. And I will defeat every enemy you saw."
His conviction rang like steel.
Isobu was taken aback by the sheer weight behind those words.
"And how? How do you plan to do that? Even my jinchūriki is not so strong."
Kyojiro finally smiled — confident, calm, resolute.
"Because I am not just a human, Isobu…"
He spread his arms.
"I am a Sage."
…Sage?
Isobu's shock flared again. "So what? Many shinobi have Sage Talent."
Kyojiro tilted his head. "Then sense me properly."
A faint mischief touched his tone.
Isobu narrowed his eyes and let his senses expand.
The world sharpened — the wind, the grass, the distant waves… everything fell into perfect, crystal clarity.
And then he sensed Kyojiro.
And for the first time in centuries…
Isobu stood speechless.
Not even the Sage of Six Paths was capable of this
