Chapter 20 - Chapter 20

After ending the call, Akira returned the phone to Yuigahama Yui.

Yui's face had turned red.

She had heard what her Mother has said—especially the meaning behind the last sentence.

Last night, Asuna had explained a lot of things in detail, which left Yui embarrassed for a long time.

"Let's go buy pajamas," Akira said, stretching out his hand.

Yui nodded and placed her hand in his.

Akira gently took her hand, as they walked into the mall together.

.....

Inside the Mall.

As they passing by the game room on the first floor, Akira glanced at the arcade machines and the Plushies inside.

"Fujimiya-kun, do you want to play games?" Yui whispered.

"Next time," Akira replied. "After Yukinoshita-san gets home, she'll probably start working right away and send me an email or something."

"Tomorrow, we can go shopping," he added after a pause.

Yui smiled.

She knew that Akira had a good understanding of Yukinoshita Yukino personality.

"I hope that tomorrow, Yukinoshita-san spends all her time shopping instead of pestering me about the plot," Akira said helplessly.

Yui giggled, imagining Yukino in that manner.

Suddenly, Yui remembered the condition Yukinoshita Yukino had mentioned.

"Fujimiya-kun, can you come up with three complete stories for Yukinoshita to read?"

"I'll think about it carefully tonight," Akira replied.

He had watched countless animes, but complete stories were rare.

Most series couldn't tell the whole story in one season, and some original works became unpredictable toward the end.

Akira had no idea how to wrap up later plot points, especially in famous series like Naruto.

Still, there was no denying that the early stages of these works were captivating, leaving everyone who watched them impressed.

The endings, however… were a different story.

...

Sakurasou,

After buying pajamas at the mall, Akira and Yui returned to Sakurasou.

Before they could even open the door, an email from Yukinoshita Yukino arrived.

She had organized each character's backstory, sorted several branching plots, and written multiple possibilities for the time-loop concept.

After reading it, Akira quickly replied.

"Yukinoshita-san, we're thinking along the same lines the plot has no issues anymore. The next step is deciding the overall style of the animation. I already have an idea, and I wonder if your answer matches mine."

Minutes later, Yukinoshita Yukino replied with a photo.

It showed a cute magical girl, almost identical in style to Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

"Yukinoshita-san…is a genius," Akira typed.

"Thank you for the compliment. I'm not a genius—I just work harder than most. I like your story very much and look forward to the next three stories," Yukino replied modestly.

"I've already thought of the first story, so I won't keep you waiting too long," Akira said.

"Can we see the first story tomorrow?" Yukino asked.

"Yui is at my house tonight, so…" Akira hesitated.

"That's no excuse to be lazy. I want to see the first story tomorrow," Yukino said firmly.

"Understood, President Yukinoshita," Akira text back with a small smile.

"Please treat her sincerely instead of thinking about doing anything...weird" Yukino replied.

Akira stare at the message but didn't reply to that.

Instead, he looked at Yui.

"The bathroom is over there. I'll go cook first," he said.

Yui froze for a moment, glancing at the bag in her hand containing her pajamas. A blush crept across her cheeks as she walked toward the bathroom.

.....

By the time Akira finished preparing dinner, Yui was already sitting on the sofa, wearing her new pajamas and blowing her hair with a hair dryer.

Akira placed dinner on the table and walked over.

"Shall I help you?" he asked.

"N-no need. I'm almost done," Yui said shyly, putting down the dryer and tying her hair up.

"Do the pajamas fit well?" Akira asked.

"They're a little… a little small," Yui admitted, her face heating up.

"They really are a bit small," Akira agreed, noticing how the fit wasn't perfect.

"Fujimiya-kun…" Yui quickly covered herself with her hands to block his gaze.

"Okay, let's have dinner. After that, it's time for you to work," Akira said, standing.

"Work? you mean drawing?" Yui's eyes lit up.

Akira had written the script, and Yukinoshita Yukino had been supplementing it.

Now, it is finally time for Yui to participate.

The two of them sat at the dining table.

Tonight's dinner was tonkotsu ramen.

As soon as Yui sat down the rich aroma make her stomach growled from hunger.

She carefully scooped up a spoonful of soup and tasted it.

Her eyes widened in surprise.

"This soup… it's amazing!" she exclaimed.

"I added fresh ingredients to the broth I stewed before, and made the ramen myself. It should taste good," Akira explained briefly.

"Akira… I may never surpass your cooking skills," Yui said, slightly disappointed.

"As long as you learn simple cooking, I'll be satisfied," Akira smiled gently.

"I… I'll try my best," Yui said, clenching her fists.

"I'm looking forward to it," Akira said, continuing to enjoy his ramen.

Yui smiled, quietly savoring the tonkotsu ramen.

After they finished dinner, Akira showed Yui the characters Yukinoshita Yukino had drawn.

Thinking about the plot, Yui felt a complex mix of emotions. Looking at the cute art style, she understood the meaning behind it—cute designs, yet a cruel story.

This contrast left a deep impression and made the ending feel healing in its own way.

.....

In Akira's room,

Yui was drawing while Akira was writing the story he had just envisioned.

This story was special.

At first glance, it seemed like a typical tale of a male protagonist growing stronger after acquiring an alien creature.

But it was far from simple.

His life was harsh and full of trials.

The female lead appeared repeatedly, reflecting the hero's evolving emotions.

The most emotional moment came when his mother had an accident, was parasitized by alien creatures, and returned home.

The protagonist mistook the monster in front of him for his mother—not out of stupidity, but because he couldn't accept the cruel reality.

Because of that — He got himself killed.

But the alien creature prevented complete death.

After surviving, his first thought was revenge.

Yet, As he grew, he became increasingly distant from a human being.

Eventually, he defeated the monster and returned to school. He thought life would calm down—but fate dragged him into danger again and again.

Complicated situation came one after another: a supporting actress's feelings, his identity exposure, and new enemies far stronger than he imagined.

During one escape, he stayed overnight at an old man's house. But the monsters followed relentlessly. One day, he was thrown into a garbage dump by a monster—which he killed with a scrap metal.

It was ironic: such a mighty creature died under the garbage humans produced.

Hence, it was called an "environmentally friendly" show.

But the story also showed family love and deep affection. Most importantly, it was a complete story.

In the end, the alien creatures adapted to human society, the protagonist overcame his trials, and he ended up with the female lead.

Though idealized, it revealed that even parasitic beings could possess emotions.

The End—

.....

Akira spent hours completing the story.

When he looked over, Yui had seemingly fallen asleep.

He stood, walked over, and glanced at her drawings—they were all incredibly cute, earning his approval.

He looked at the sleeping Yui, gently picked her up, and carried her to the small bedroom next door. The room was fully furnished and seemed prepared by him.

Akira placed Yui in bed, tucked her in, and kissed her lightly on the forehead.

"Good night," he whispered, turning off the light as he left.

A few seconds later, Yui opened her eyes, her face flushed. She curled up under the quilt—not asleep, but watching to see what Akira would do.

His actions hadn't disappointed her. He had escorted her to bed with care, proving he wasn't someone who only looked at appearances.
