"What's did I do?" Akira Fujimiya looked at her with feigned confusion.
"Hmph." Yukino realized Akira was playing dumb and ignored him.
"Yui, don't bully my girlfriend. Yukino gets shy easily," Akira said to Yuigahama Yui.
"It's clearly Akira-kun who's bullying Yukino," Yui said, standing on Yukino's side.
Hearing this, Akira smiled faintly and began eating the breakfast in front of him, saying nothing further.
He didn't mention Yukinoshita Haruno.
Soon, the three of them finished breakfast. Akira stood and cleared the dishes.
Yukino glanced at him, then moved to the sofa with Yui. They waited until Akira finished cleaning the kitchen and walked out. Both girls had already decided where to go today.
....
It was the same tennis court as last time.
The difference was that today, Yukino would teach Yui how to play tennis.
An automatic ball-serving machine stood opposite them, and Akira leaned back, drinking while watching the two girls.
The scene was identical to before, and there were no other guests.
"Is this tennis court not popular?" Akira asked, a little puzzled.
Actually, the court wasn't unpopular. It was simply far from the city, and most visitors were professional players. Ordinary people rarely came here. Free tennis courts were available around many schools.
The reason Akira chose this court was simple: the facilities were complete, and there was no one to disturb them.
"Akira-kun, it's your turn to teach Yuigahama-san," Yukino's voice rang out.
"Yui, why don't you give up?" Akira asked, standing up.
"I don't want to give up. I want to play tennis with Yukino," Yui said, smiling.
Akira stepped in front of her, looking serious.
"You're not cut out for tennis," he said.
"How could that be? I—"
Yui stopped mid-sentence, realizing where his eyes were, and blushed as she glared at Akira.
"Relatively speaking, Yukino is very suited. She doesn't have as many burdens," Akira said, glancing at Yukino, who sat on a chair.
"The way you look at me is very Inappropriate," Yukino frowned.
Akira withdrew his eyes. If he stared too long, she would definitely get angry. As he moved behind Yui, gently hugging her to demonstrate the proper movements.
Yui's face turned crimson instantly, and she couldn't hear a single word he was saying.
"Forget it, let's just play," Akira said, letting her go helplessly.
"I asked you to teach Yui to play tennis, not to hug her! You're suppose to be her coach now, not her boyfriend," Yukino said, unable to stop herself.
"If I were a coach and met Yui, I would teach her like this," Akira said innocently.
"What a lousy guy," Yukino snorted.
She knew technically he was right—hugging Yui to teach her was effective—but Yui would naturally become shy around him.
Professional tennis courts had male and female coaches.
Female beginners usually preferred female instructors, and male coaches had to be careful with physical adjustments, or customers could complain.
If Akira were a professional coach, he might have been fired long ago due to complaints.
Of course, with his appearance, he might still attract a group of female beginners, but teaching properly was still necessary.
After turning on the ball machine, Akira instructed Yui on her stance and swings.
After observing it for half an hour, he already understood the machine's firing pattern.
For beginners, the machine's level were set at easy mode.
For Akira and Yukino, they adjusted it to intermediate as a warm-up.
Under his guidance, Yui practiced for another half-hour, visibly exhausted. As Yukino handed her a drink—
"Thank you, Yukinon" Yui said grateful as she open the cap of the bottle and started drinking.
At this point, Akira increased the machine's difficulty and moved to the spot Yui had just occupied.
.....
The three spent time at the tennis court.
By lunchtime, Yukino took Yui to the ramen restaurant they had visited before. The ramen chef recognized them and smiled at Akira.
"Shall we have the usual, most delicious ramen?" the chef asked.
"Yes," Akira said.
He had grown very fond of this ramen.
Yukino didn't bring Yui here just because it was convenient but also because she wants to share something she loved with her friend.
Yui inhaled the aroma with anticipation.
The ramen did not disappoint; its flavor was different from before, but just as delicious.
Yui even finished the soup.
...
After the meal, the trio took a train to the zoo. Yui wanted to see the giant pandas with Yukino.
Yukino had some difficulty in crowded spaces, but fortunately, the zoo was not busy today.
She had always liked cats—ordinary cats, pandas, or any animal with "cat" in its name.
Akira noticed the light in her eyes and thought she could be called "Yukinoshita Meowono."
Perhaps she had been a cute cat in a previous life.
"Akira-kun, please take a picture for me," Yukino requested.
"Of course...Yukinoshita Meowono," Akira replied bit muttered the last words to himself, taking a photo with his phone.
"Yukino, let's take one together," Yui said, squeezing into the frame.
The photo captured the two girls and an owl.
The owl had no idea it had been included in a cat-themed shot. Yukino happily posed with other animals as well, enjoying this rare zoo trip.
Finally, it was time to see the giant pandas.
"Akira-kun, I heard some households keep giant pandas. Is that true?" Yukino asked seriously.
Akira didn't answer.
This time, the panda seemed cooperative, sitting close to the visitors. Yukino took a photo and smiled at the result. Yui, beside her, smiled knowingly. Yukino had clearly enjoyed the outing; Yui's plan had succeeded. The next step, however, would be key.
.....
In the zoo's gift shop, Yukino's attention immediately went to the panda merchandise.
"One of each, please," she told the clerk, pointing to various items.
The clerk hesitated, then quickly gathered the items for her.
Akira wasn't surprised at all. Yui watched Yukino selecting items and then wandered to another corner of the store. She found something new.
"This will definitely suit Yukino-chan," Yui said, placing a cat-ear headband on Yukino's head.
Yukino froze, looking at her.
"Akira-kun, isn't Yukinon cute like this?" Yui asked, smiling.
"Yukino, don't move, let me take a picture," Akira said seriously, taking out his phone. As Yui held Yukino's arm before she could take off the headband, and Akira quickly snapped a photo of them together.
The headband transformed Yukino into "Yukinoshita Meowono."
"It's a shame there's no tail," Akira said with slight regret.
"What… what are you thinking about?" Yukino's face turned red.
"Something fun," Akira replied meaningfully.
"Don't think about it!" Yukino said, her little fists clenched, but looking extremely adorable with her headband.
Yui then put another cat-ear headband on her own head.
"You wouldn't suit this," Akira said.
"Then what would suit me?" Yui pouted, a little dissatisfied.
"The devil's horns, leather jacket, something that shows off your figure," Akira said seriously.
Yui froze for a moment, stunned.
