After breakfast, Ah Chen returned to the house.
"Mother is going to the city today to buy some things. I'll go with her in a bit, taking the village's ox cart to travel. Quite a few people from the village will go, so even if Landlord Chen has any ideas, he probably won't be so blatant about it." Ah Chen looked at Pei Hui's expression; the other person had eaten last night, so naturally, they didn't feel hungry, but occasionally hiccupped.
Ah Chen wouldn't deprive him of water to drink; keeping things from him would be too obvious, and she didn't want to confront him just yet.
This morning, upon waking, she heard Pei Hui hiccupping. He explained it was because he was too hungry, and drank water too hastily, which caused the hiccups.
This indeed happens, and Ah Chen had no intention of exposing him.
"Miss Qin, go and return early," Pei Hui said.
He really wasn't worried about that Landlord Chen; last night, he'd already sent his men to handle it.
