Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: No One Can Take Her Kingdom (14)

Prince Chang angrily pulled out a dagger and slapped it against Hee Qingshan's face: "Even if I am defeated, I won't let you have your way. Today, I'll ruin that pretty face of yours and see how you still charm people."

Prince Chang's expression grew more and more hideous: "Even if you unify this kingdom in the future, you'll still have to bear a disfigured face, hahaha, let's see what you're proud of then."

"Prince Chang, don't act rashly. You only have one city left, you're at the end of your rope, stop struggling in vain. If you surrender obediently, I might spare your life and let you live with honor for the rest of your days."

The appearance of a man isn't that important, but Hee Qingshan did not want to bear a disfigured face, feeling somewhat fearful at heart. Even if he became emperor in the future, he would not be willing to be seen with a face full of scars. When he's recorded in history, others would mention his disfigured face, and that thought was embarrassing.

He intended to leave a lasting legacy, not to be remembered for looking unsightly.

Ling Shishi was also tied up nearby, feigning semi-consciousness, not daring to make a sound. This Prince Chang was evidently mad. With her mere status as a little maid, provoking him could very well cost her life.

Prince Chang still hoped to rise again with the Great King's support; he wasn't worried about any harm to the Great King.

As for herself, an inconspicuous maid, it was better to pass out, at least she could live a little longer.

"Ah—"

The scream of Hee Qingshan echoed in her ears, almost startling Ling Shishi awake. She dared not open her eyes and clenched her teeth, urging herself to faint.

Out of sight, out of mind, let's endure this time first.

The Great King's disfigurement doesn't matter as long as he lives.

If the Great King lives and can unify the world, she could share in his prosperity and wealth. She didn't mind if he wasn't handsome, as long as he could allow her to live above others.

Prince Chang slashed twice on Hee Qingshan's face with the dagger, one cut on each side, the cuts were so deep that the flesh turned over, almost causing Hee Qingshan to faint from the pain.

"Prince Chang!" Hee Qingshan gritted his teeth in hatred for his adversary, feeling the hot blood flowing from his face, dripping continuously. He was terrified, but the hatred was stronger.

"Without that pretty face, let's see how you charm people."

"Even if you unify the world, what does it matter, and so what if you ascend the throne? You'll still be an ugly freak; hundreds of years from now, people will remember you as an ugly freak."

Hee Qingshan mentally noted those words, determined that when he became emperor, he would rewrite history to make Prince Chang infamous for ages.

As to how history would portray him, was it not up to him, as the emperor, to change it as he pleased? Who dared to miswrite, he'd execute their entire family.

He wasn't going to say this to avoid provoking the opponent further.

The pain on his face was almost making him pass out.

"Qiann Yan, King Ning Shan is in my hands. If you want him to live, bring me thirty cities in exchange and sign a contract, agreeing not to invade for a hundred years. How about we divide the world?"

It was clearly unrealistic to make Yun Qianyan submit; he feared she might fight back desperately.

He only needed to regain thirty cities and sign a contract, a condition not excessive.

If Yun Qianyan did not agree today, it would inevitably distract Hee Qingshan, and she'd be mocked, for refusing to save the husband who fought by her side for power.

Such a reputation wouldn't sound nice.

"Where is the Great King?" Qiann Yan responded, then saw two people being hung down from the city wall, one was Hee Qingshan, the other was Ling Shishi.

"Yun Qianyan, they are here and alive. I won't ask for anything for the maid, consider her a gift to you."

The "unconscious" Ling Shishi bit her teeth in hatred internally; well, this way no one would notice her. The Great King had attracted all the fire unto himself.
