Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: You’re a Little Man

"Come back!"

The little bun was anxious. This orchard was a forbidden area in the estate and normally off-limits.

He had come secretly, and no one would come to rescue him. If the Great Demon King found out, his poor tiny butt would be in for a spanking again.

"Coming back, huh?" Bai Haoxue said in a deep voice, "You can come back, but only if you do exactly what I just said."

The little bun snorted coldly, "I'll try my best!"

"Hold onto the trunk tightly, and move slightly to the right."

The little bun on the tree did as instructed. Bai Haoxue continued, "Put your left foot on the branch next to you, then lift your right foot. Make sure to hold onto the trunk tightly!"

The little bun held the tree trunk tightly, following Bai Haoxue's instructions, finally freeing his trapped foot.

However, there was still a major problem. The little bun looked at Bai Haoxue with a worried face.

Bai Haoxue had a bad premonition, "Little bun, don't tell me you can climb up but can't climb down?"

"..." The little bun turned his head away, "If I say yes, will you laugh at me?"

Bai Haoxue, "I won't!"

Little bun: "Yes!"

Bai Haoxue: "..."

After looking around and seeing no ladder or anything like it, Bai Haoxue paused and said, "If I tell you to jump straight down and I will catch you, will you trust me?"

The little bun leaned sideways and looked at the height. It was really high!

He was truly amazing to have climbed up.

He seriously looked again at the woman below and then nodded earnestly, "I trust you!"

"You must catch me!" the little bun emphasized.

"I will catch you!" Bai Haoxue calculated in her mind the angle of deviation and accidents possible with the little bun's jump, then found the best spot to stand.

"Little bun, be bold and jump!" Bai Haoxue opened her arms towards the little bun.

The little bun looked again at Bai Haoxue. She seemed very confident, and he inexplicably trusted her.

Taking a deep breath, the little bun released the trunk and decisively jumped towards where Bai Haoxue stood.

"Ahhhhh…"

The little bun reflexively screamed.

The inertia from falling from a high place was too great. Although Bai Haoxue had calculated everything, they still fell due to the force of the jump and the little bun in her arms.

She held the little bun tightly in her arms, using her hands to protect his little head.

"Little bun, are you okay?" Bai Haoxue asked uncertainly.

The little bun in her arms was holding her tightly but didn't speak.

Bai Haoxue felt his little body tremble slightly and gently patted his back to comfort him.

Despite his impressive demeanor, he's still a child. Jumping from such a high place was equivalent to a near-death experience.

This little bun was very brave, and the fact that he trusted her softened Bai Haoxue's heart.

Bai Haoxue couldn't help but kiss his forehead, "Little bun, it's okay, you're safe now, don't be afraid!"

"I'm not scared!"

He just thought her embrace was warm, very warm, like the warmth of a mother's embrace described in books.

It was his first time feeling a mother's warmth and protection, and he was reluctant to get up.

But he wouldn't tell her that. What if she got proud and started to brag?

"Okay, you're not scared. You're a little man, so brave!" Bai Haoxue couldn't help but tap his cute little nose.

Once she clearly saw the little bun's face, Bai Haoxue froze, as if all the blood in her body turned to ice.....
