Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Letting Her Go on Purpose

As expected, Maxim Sinclair neatly pulled the quilt over her: "Leo Quinn has something important to discuss with me. You rest first, and after I'm done, I'll take you to breakfast."

Having just witnessed him going crazy, Summer Lowell dared not provoke him further with words. She obediently nodded in agreement: "Okay, I'll take a nap first. Call me for a meal when you're done."

Seeing her thoughts clearly, Maxim Sinclair smiled gently without exposing her inner thoughts: "Mm, go to sleep. You were exhausted just now."

Summer's face briefly flashed a shy expression. She pulled the quilt higher, covering the lower half of her face that wanted to smirk, and turned her head, closing her eyes to sleep.

Maxim Sinclair didn't leave immediately but watched the "sleeping" Summer for quite a while before leaving, even helping to tuck the quilt in for her along the way.

As soon as he left, Summer flipped over and got up, rushing into the bathroom.

Guest room in the backyard.
