Chapter 9 - Chapter 5: Desperate Battle Against the Mutated Black Ant

From planning the escape to grabbing the Alloy Dagger, the whole process seemed lengthy, but in reality, only a minute had passed. Tang Yiyi was just an ordinary person who hadn't awakened any powers; her physical ability couldn't compare to these Superpower User guards, plus the drug effects made her the last to get out of the car.

When she emerged with the Alloy Dagger, those Superpower User guards had already begun attacking the Mutated Worm. Hearing the commotion next to her, Tang Yiyi instinctively tightened her grip on the Alloy Dagger and cautiously walked in the opposite direction of the battlefield. If possible, she didn't want to leave these Superpower User guards. After all, she was just an ordinary person without an armored vehicle; being alone out here was incredibly dangerous, and at any moment, she might encounter a Mutant Beast.

But she already knew someone here wanted her dead, staying would be too dangerous! The Mutated Worm was fully grown, its power not to be underestimated; if she got close, she might not even know how she died! The Superpower Users' physical ability and perception were much stronger than ordinary people; the battlefield was too chaotic, and even if they made some subtle move, she might not notice!

So while all the guards were focusing on the Mutated Worm, she cautiously retreated, then turned and ran while they weren't looking! At this moment, she was focused solely on escaping, completely unaware that the suspicious guard had a triumphant grin flashing across his face as he watched her flee!

Choosing a direction, Tang Yiyi ran desperately forward, quickly leaving the chaotic battlefield behind. But her running made the blood flow faster, enhancing the effects of the drugs she inhaled on the vehicle even more strongly! After running only a few hundred meters, she felt her limbs weaken, her consciousness turned drowsy, yearning to lie down and sleep.

Instinctively, she tightened her grip on the cold Alloy Dagger but dared not get herself stabbed, not fearing the pain but worrying the blood might attract Mutant Beasts! Her situation was already dire, if she attracted Mutant Beasts, she would truly have no burial place!

Once again, she bit her tongue, the sharp pain finally clearing her muddled mind a bit. She forced herself to endure the discomfort, running swiftly forward, not daring to stop for a moment! The physical strain was too great, soon her body was drenched in sweat, even her breathing grew heavy.

At this moment, not far ahead, the ground suddenly opened up to reveal a hole, from which a Mutated Black Ant crawled out! This Mutated Black Ant was a meter long, its shell dark and shiny, with massive and sharp pincers like giant clippers, and its three pairs of feet had sharp serrated edges.

Tang Yiyi instantly became tense, able to tell with one glance that the Mutated Black Ant's giant pincers could easily snap her delicate neck, and its serrated feet could tear off a piece of flesh with just a light yank! Her eyes locked on the Mutated Black Ant that was rapidly charging toward her; after calculating the distance, she suddenly rushed at it!

Then, halfway through, she stomped the ground, leveraging the force to flip midair and narrowly landed on the Mutated Black Ant's back. The Mutated Black Ant's weapons were its pincers and three pairs of feet, and due to bodily constraints, jumping on its back allowed her to effectively evade its attacks!

At school, Tang Yiyi had practiced this maneuver many times, and once proficient, she could perform it perfectly each time. But this time was different; not only was she pregnant, but she had also inhaled drugs in the vehicle, causing her limbs to weaken and consciousness to cloud. If not for the sheer will to not give in, not to die, she wouldn't have completed the move!

Despite it all, as she flipped midair, she felt a strong sense of nausea, and her limbs were weak; as she landed, she almost failed to grasp the Mutated Black Ant's antenna, nearly slipping off its back! Mutated Black Ants typically use their pair of antennae to communicate, determine direction, scent, etc., so the most sensitive part of its body is indeed these antennae, considered its fatal spot. Once this area is damaged, it won't survive long.

Yet, because this is its weakness, once someone grabs it, the struggle becomes intense. If damaged, it will provoke a strong sense of revenge! Grasping its antenna, Tang Yiyi disregarded the discomfort entirely, and with the dagger, stabbed into the gap behind its head!

The Mutated Black Ant is covered with a sturdy shell, with incredible defense; to kill it, one must attack the gap connecting the shell. These gaps are usually carefully hidden, but within them lies a thin membrane. If one seizes the timing, acts quickly, accurately, and fiercely, they can easily pierce the membrane and kill it effortlessly!

All these details were taught in Tang Yiyi's biology class. Killing a Mutated Black Ant was actually homework for her Basic Martial Skills class. However, she had only ever practiced slaying Mutated Black Ants in virtual training grounds. This was her first time in real combat! Despite her poor condition, driven by a strong desire to survive, she pierced through the membrane with one strike, stabbing into the Mutated Black Ant's brain!

After a moment of astonishment, Tang Yiyi swiftly rotated the dagger handling in its head, stirred the dagger inside, then pulled it out, quickly cutting off the antennae, flipping off its back, and confirmed there was no threat before running far away. Mutated Black Ants are social creatures; Tang Yiyi didn't know where others might be, but she had to leave immediately — once those creatures appeared, she'd never live to seek revenge!

Just a few steps into her run, a sound came from behind, sending shivers down her spine. Turning back, Tang Yiyi saw another Mutated Black Ant emerging from the hole! Her face paled; she suppressed the physical discomfort and used every bit of her remaining strength to run desperately forward. At that moment, a shabby armored vehicle suddenly appeared from the side and came to a stop in front of her. The person inside seemed to notice her predicament and quickly shouted to her, "Get in the car!"

A fleeting sense of hesitation crossed Tang Yiyi's mind, but looking back, she found more Mutated Black Ants crawling out of the hole and coming after her! She didn't dare delay any longer, swung open the car door, and sat inside. The driver seemed anxious, as the car lurched forward before she even got seated!

Due to inertia, she slammed into the seat, just about to rise, when suddenly a siren went off in her mind! Instinctively, Tang Yiyi rolled aside, only to hear a "crackling" sound. Looking up, a small bolt of lightning landed where she had just been lying, burning a small charred mark!
