Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Begin Your Performance

Why is she here again? Don't they sleep at night? Su Hao looked at Peilin, who was frantically raising her head, feeling somewhat numb.

"Su Hao Ge! What do we do? My sister's here!" Peilin said, scanning left and right.

"Uh… actually, you could…" Before Su Hao could finish, Peilin kicked off her slippers and climbed onto the bed.

"Su Hao Ge! I'll hide here for a bit, don't give me away!" Peilin whispered, then blushed and hid under the covers.

Damn it, you're not a mistress! Why can't you just be out in the open? Su Hao sighed, then, with practiced ease, bent down and threw Peilin's slippers under the bed.

As for Peilin, when Su Hao bent down, her head was against Su Hao's chest. To avoid getting in his way, she could only carefully reach out and move her body down a bit.

But as soon as she reached out, she felt her hand touch a soft, boneless palm!

Strange, when did Su Hao Ge's hand become so soft? Peilin looked confusedly at the hand that disappeared into the darkness like a startled rabbit, but then she heard Wan'en opening the door. Peilin had no time to think further and quickly curled up, slowing her breathing.

Good thing Peilin didn't discover me! On the inner side of the bed, Aunt Meijing breathed a sigh of relief, her eyes becoming complex.

She had pinched Su Hao a moment ago, clearly intending for him to comfort Peilin. Why did he agree to Peilin's confession? And with such sincerity. Did he really like Peilin? Then what about me?

Aunt Meijing's heart became anxious again.

Su Hao, of course, was unaware of the complex thoughts of the two beautiful women hiding. He was currently busy dealing with Wan'en.

"Hey! Why is your expression so strange? Does seeing me make you unhappy?" Wan'en pushed open the door and saw Su Hao's expression, instantly looking displeased.

"No, not at all. I'm very happy to see you. I'm just a little curious why you're looking for me in the middle of the night instead of sleeping." Su Hao forced a smile, speaking weakly.

"Do you think I want to see you?" Wan'en said, leaning against the door. "It's not because you're not sleeping in the middle of the night and left the hallway light on, making me unable to sleep!"

"No… I didn't turn it on, I forgot to turn it off after going to the bathroom." Su Hao was about to say he didn't, when he suddenly felt his thigh being pinched twice, so he quickly changed his words.

"I knew it was you, only you would do something like that." Wan'en pouted. "You don't need to come down, I'll turn it off for you later."

"Alright, thank you, Wan'en Jie." Su Hao's heart brightened, sensing that Wan'en wasn't planning to stay long.

"Oh? Hearing that I'm leaving soon, are you very happy?" Wan'en raised an eyebrow, staring coldly at Su Hao.

"No… no, I'm not happy at all." Su Hao showed a smile uglier than a cry.

He hadn't expected Wan'en's perception to be so sharp.

"Alright then, if I stay here, you should be happy, right?" Wan'en asked, her face full of menace.

"Happy, I'm so happy!" Su Hao said, bracing himself.

He was very sure that if he said he wasn't happy, Wan'en would definitely kill him.

"That's more like it. Since you're so eager to invite me, I'll chat with you." Wan'en smiled as she closed the door and walked towards Su Hao.

"Wan… Wan'en Jie, can you just stand there and chat?" Su Hao asked cautiously.

With Wan'en's perceptiveness, if she walked to the bed, there was a high probability she would discover Aunt Meijing and Peilin, and then it would truly be over.

"What? Do you hate me that much? You even dislike me getting a little closer? Then I'll get closer to you!" Wan'en's expression grew colder, with a hint of sadness.

"No, no. Wan'en Jie, I didn't mean that." Su Hao waved his hand.

Watching Wan'en get closer and closer, Su Hao gritted his teeth. Damn it, I'm going for it!

"Wan'en Jie! I actually really like you!"

"What did you say?" Wan'en stopped, staring at Su Hao in surprise.

"I said, I really, really like you!" Su Hao looked at Wan'en with an expression of one ready to die.

"Didn't you just ask me why I didn't want you to come closer? Because you're too dazzling, like a scorching sun, and I'm just a tiny moth, a bug in the sewer! If you come closer to me, I'll be burned by your dazzling light."

"Su, Su Hao, I, I didn't know you thought that way. You, you never showed it before. I, I…" Wan'en was flustered by Su Hao's sudden confession.

"I told you, because you're too dazzling! You're so beautiful, and I'm so ugly! The closer I get to you, the more I feel insignificant." Su Hao looked up, gazing at Wan'en with both pain and adoration.

Seeing Su Hao's gaze, Wan'en felt a pang in her heart. She felt that Su Hao was like a scarred wild wolf, lonely and helpless, chasing his own moonlight.

"Su, Su Hao, don't be like this. If you really like me, we can try dating." Wan'en said, about to step forward.

She now had a strong urge to embrace Su Hao.

And this, in fact, was what Su Hao had mentioned earlier: to arouse the maternal and gentle instincts in a woman's heart, to make them feel sorry for you, that's when you succeed.

"Don't come over!" Seeing Wan'en trying to approach, Su Hao shouted.

"Su Hao?" Wan'en quickly stopped, looking at Su Hao with concern.

"Wan'en Jie, please don't come over, okay?" Su Hao softened his tone. "Can you let me be quiet for a bit? I used up all my strength and courage saying those things just now. Please, don't come over, let me be quiet."

"Okay, I won't go over." Wan'en raised her hand, an unprecedented tenderness appearing in her eyes.

"Su Hao, you don't need to be so self-deprecating. I'm not the sun, and you're not a moth. We've lived together for so long, and though I don't say it, I've long considered you family. If you're willing, perhaps we'll have a more intimate relationship in the future."

After Wan'en finished speaking, she took two steps forward and, under Su Hao's shocked gaze, lowered her head and gently kissed Su Hao's forehead.

"Goodnight, don't overthink things. Sleep well tonight." Leaving these words, Wan'en floated away.

Su Hao touched his forehead, staring blankly at Wan'en's retreating figure, with only one thought in his mind: good thing she didn't kiss my mouth, otherwise it would be too messy.

A moment later, the hallway light turned off. Wan'en leaned against the wall, her face flushed red!

What do I do? Su Hao actually confessed to me! And I even agreed, and I kissed him!

Wan'en covered her head and pounded the wall, groaning as she walked towards her room.

But she wasn't the only one in distress. Inside Su Hao's room, Peilin emerged from under the covers, staring at Su Hao with a troubled expression.

"Su Hao Ge, do you really like my sister?"

On the other side, Meijing also perked up her ears. She couldn't see the situation outside from under the covers, only hear the conversation. From Su Hao's words just now, she truly believed that Su Hao also liked Wan'en.

After all, his confession was so sincere, and he had also said before that he would like many women; it wasn't strange for Wan'en to be among them.
