Chapter 85 - Chapter 87: Pre-dinner Small Talk

It was already eight in the evening when he returned home.

But the lights in the house were bright, and Aunt Meijing, with Peilin and Wan'en, was waiting for Su Hao in the courtyard.

Seeing this scene from afar, Su Hao couldn't help but feel touched.

"Why didn't you wait inside the house? What if you catch a cold out here?" Parking his bicycle, Su Hao walked towards Aunt Meijing.

"Brother Su Hao, are you confused? It's summer now, how can you catch a cold outside?" Peilin said with a smile, wagging her finger.

"Even in summer, you can catch a cold. Su Hao said that because he cares about you, you idiot!" Seeing Peilin tease Su Hao, Wan'en quickly defended him.

"Strange, big sister, you're actually speaking up for Brother Su Hao today. Did you forget to take your medicine?" Peilin scrutinized Wan'en, her face full of doubt.

"You're the one who forgot to take your medicine!" Wan'en's cheeks flushed slightly, and she stammered, "I'm Su Hao's sister, what's wrong with me speaking up for him?"

"Sister? That's not necessarily true, you know." Peilin shook her head, subtly glaring at Su Hao.

From Wan'en's behavior, it was clear that she had most likely been won over by Su Hao.

"Sister is sister, what's not necessarily true? I'm too lazy to talk to you!" Wan'en nervously turned her head to look at Su Hao. "Xiao Hao, how was your interview?"

"Yeah, Brother Su Hao, did that Vice President take a liking to you?" Peilin also leaned over, asking expectantly.

"What do you mean 'take a liking to Xiao Hao'? It should be 'passed the interview'! Peilin, if you don't know any better, don't talk nonsense!" Aunt Meijing complained, giving Peilin a look.

Her biggest worry now was that Su Hao would be kept by that Vice President, and Peilin's words hit her sore spot.

"I'm just worried! Brother Su Hao, tell us quickly, did you pass the interview?" Peilin hugged Su Hao's arm, acting spoiled.

Wan'en watched her being so intimate with Su Hao and immediately clenched her teeth. However, she didn't suspect that Peilin and Su Hao were together, because Peilin used to often act spoiled with Su Hao.

"Consider it passed." Su Hao said, sitting on a chair with a smile. "From now on, I'll be the special assistant to the Vice President of Cosmos Group."

"Special assistant?" Aunt Meijing exclaimed, standing up abruptly.

Seeing her so agitated, Peilin and Wan'en both looked over.

"Mom, why are you so jumpy? Is this special assistant position very impressive?" Peilin asked curiously.

"Idiot! Of course, a special assistant is impressive. They have a lot of authority, and the career prospects are especially good. Xiao Hao is the special assistant to the Vice President, so his status is only lower than the Vice President.

If he gets promoted again, it would be... Vice President?" As Wan'en spoke, she herself was stunned.

"That amazing?" Peilin said in surprise. "Brother Su Hao, are you going to be the Vice President of Cosmos Group in the future? Does that mean you'll earn a lot of money?"

"Why do you only think about money?" Aunt Meijing glared at Peilin, then said worriedly, "Xiao Hao, you're just a college student, how did you become a special assistant? This is too fast, I'm a little uneasy."

After Aunt Meijing finished speaking, her palms involuntarily clenched. She thought Su Hao had sacrificed his looks to gain this position.

"It is a bit fast." Su Hao nodded. "But don't worry, Auntie, I had a very congenial chat with that Vice President. She shouldn't harm me."

"Had a very congenial chat?" Aunt Meijing's heart sank instantly, and she asked anxiously, "Is that Vice President a woman? How old is she this year?"

"She's a woman, in her early twenties, and quite pretty." Su Hao said honestly.

"A Vice President in her twenties? How is that possible?" Wan'en asked in surprise.

"Under normal circumstances, it's impossible, but she's the daughter of the Cosmos Group chairman, a rich second generation." Su Hao finished speaking, and couldn't help but sigh.

Some people are born in Rome, some are born as beasts of burden. The difference between people is greater than the difference between people and pigs.

"The daughter of the Cosmos Group chairman, asking you to be her special assistant?" Even the slow-witted Peilin sensed something was off, and asked tentatively, "Brother Su Hao, she wouldn't have taken a liking to you, would she?"

Wan'en and Aunt Meijing also looked at Su Hao together.

"Xiao Hao, although being a special assistant is a very good job, you shouldn't sacrifice your dignity for your future." Aunt Meijing earnestly advised.

"That's right, our family isn't that poor. Even if you don't work, we can support you. And I heard that rich people play very wild, your small body can't handle it." Wan'en also became a little anxious.

"What do you take me for? A Niu Lang? There is absolutely no sexual transaction between me and that Vice President, I promise!" Su Hao was exasperated.

"And although she looks decent, she's far from being as good as you all! My most beloved people are right here, how could I abandon you all for her?"

Hearing this, the three beautiful women subconsciously thought Su Hao was referring to themselves, and their faces flushed.

"Since that's the case, let's go inside and eat first. I've prepared a big table of dishes, perfect for celebrating you."

Aunt Meijing covered her lips, so her two daughters wouldn't see her smile.

"Let's eat outside today." Su Hao looked up at the night sky. "It's cooler outside, and there are many stars today."

"Alright." Aunt Meijing naturally had no objections and called her two daughters to bring out the dishes.

Su Hao was about to go help, but Wan'en stopped him.

"Wan'en Jie, is something wrong?"

"Next Sunday is my birthday, and I want to invite you to..." Wan'en's face was red, but she couldn't utter the rest of her sentence.

"To do what? Don't tell me it's to have a big battle in a hotel? Wan'en Jie, I didn't realize you were so thirsty!" Su Hao deliberately feigned ignorance.

"Battle your head!" Wan'en glared at Su Hao, her voice growing softer. "I want to go on a date with you."

"After a date, isn't it still a big battle?" Su Hao muttered, then quickly nodded when he saw Wan'en's gaze becoming increasingly unfriendly.

"No problem, I'll definitely spend the whole day with you then, and prepare a super nice gift for you!"

"That's more like it! But don't buy too expensive a gift, just a bottle of perfume will do." Wan'en snorted, her face full of arrogance.

"Understood, Wan'en Jie is so thoughtful." Su Hao stepped forward and took Wan'en's hand. "How about tonight, we go to my room..."

"No!" Wan'en shook her head without hesitation. "Mom and Peilin are both home, they'll hear us!"

"Then let them all come, I don't mind a group." Su Hao said with a smile.

"What nonsense are you talking about? Mom will kill you if she hears that!" Wan'en fiercely pinched Su Hao's arm.

"What are you talking about? I meant watching a movie together, does that also warrant a beating?" Su Hao asked, confused.

"Watching a movie?" Wan'en was stunned, then her face became awkward. "Oh... I... I thought you meant..."

"Meant what? A multi-person free-for-all? Wan'en Jie, your thoughts are impure."

"It's all your fault for misleading me! Stop talking nonsense, go and bring the dishes!" Wan'en angrily patted Su Hao's shoulder, bickering with him as they went into the house.

However, a question lingered in Wan'en's mind: were Su Hao's words just now unintentional, or was he deliberately testing her?

Could he really want these three beautiful women to accompany him?

"That's impossible. How could Mom be with him?"

Walking into the house, Wan'en dismissed the doubts in her heart as she looked at the elegant and dignified Aunt Meijing.

But what she didn't know was that a week later, the truth would be revealed to her, plunging her into a nightmare.
