Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Treasure Pavilion Sixth Floor, Black Market

"Really?"

Upon hearing this, Zhou Yunqiong furrowed her brow.

"Should I go check out the situation and buy it back?"

Uncle Zuo spoke up, as it was something the Patriarch had previously instructed. Missing it wouldn't be good.

So it must be bought back. As for who owns that farm now, he didn't care. With the strength of the Wu Zhou Group, unless one of those major forces intervened, it was bound to be acquired without any trouble.

"Forget it, we've bought enough. The Land of Fallen Stars is too vast; missing a piece doesn't matter much."

Zhou Yunqiong waved her hand and continued, "Besides, only a very few meteors falling from beyond the stars carry Divine Artifacts from the Outer Realm."

Several months ago, the Wu Zhou Group, after specialized research, discovered that a once-in-a-millennium meteor shower would soon occur.

The Zhou Family speculated that some of these meteors might contain Divine Artifacts from the Outer Realm.

So they calculated the landing sites of the meteors.

Then directly spent large sums of money purchasing them.

In fact, over the years, the Zhou Family has been buying land all over the world largely for this reason.

They hoped Divine Artifacts from the Outer Realm would descend to the earth, and after years of effort, they secured a few, but that was about it; most of it was in vain.

Zhou Yunqiong's stance was simple; she didn't think this meteor shower would be any different.

Moreover, some forces were secretly competing with the Zhou Family.

A major change is approaching.

In times like these, stability is paramount.

"Yes."

Since the young lady had spoken, Uncle Zuo naturally had no objections and continued, "Then, Miss, what's next for us...?"

They'd been out for a while and were wondering whether to return to the hotel.

"Forget it, let's go."

Zhou Yunqiong shook her head, then turned and walked out the door, clearly not wanting to return.

She didn't even bother to explain to those so-called classmates.

Even the impact Lu Yuan had just caused was quickly ignored.

Just as she had said.

After all, they were people from two different worlds.

...

After leaving the Cloud Hotel, Lu Yuan didn't return to the North City Villa.

Instead, he chose to head to another place.

However.

On the way, he received a message from Chen Song on his phone.

Chen Song: Lu, I just consulted with my dad over the phone, and we can sell that thing to you. Let me know when you want to come to pick it up.

Lu Yuan: Let's meet up sometime in the next few days.

After replying to the message.

He directly transferred the remaining 200,000 yuan to the other party.

Chen Song is an honest person, and so is his family, so there's no worry about them backing out.

Moreover, with his current wealth, even if there were any schemes, he could quickly track them down.

Subsequently, Lu Yuan continued driving, reflecting on the things he'd done recently.

In fact, apart from the Ancient Bodhi Tree, including the complete version of "Tao Te Ching" from Christie's, and even the family heirloom small cauldron of Chen Song, he could have had someone steal them back without much effort.

But he didn't want to do that for a simple reason: not everyone is worth trusting.

The Centipede Organization is efficient, and there's no fear of leaks.

However, if he constantly hired those people,

setting aside the cost, doing it too often would easily draw attention.

And could even backfire, as those people are very ruthless, living on the edge.

Moreover, Lu Yuan wanted to handle these matters discreetly, without being discovered.

Just like buying land and donating to Dragon Tiger Mountain, he would find different people to do it, to leave no trace and raise no suspicion.

With less than two months left until the global mutation, time was tight; any mishap would mean all previous efforts were in vain.

Thus, Lu Yuan preferred to be thorough and had to be extremely cautious.

Thinking this way.

Lu Yuan drove on.

Until he reached a road on the outskirts of Hu City, parking beside a building.

The structure was ancient in style, with upturned eaves and intricate woodwork, full of Ancient Huaxia design, comprising five stories, with a body made not of steel and concrete, but wood. Outside the gate stood two massive stone Pixiu sculptures, lifelike as ever.

Having such a building in Hu City indicates a significant background.

After getting out of the car, Lu Yuan walked to the gate beneath the building, glancing up at the plaque.

It bore three large characters: Treasure Pavilion!

The strokes were powerful and bold, full of vigor.

Without saying more, he walked straight in through the gate.

The first floor was spacious and grand, furnished with various chairs and screens.

Approaching the reception desk.

Without a word, he spoke, "Hello, I want to go to the sixth floor."

The receptionist, adorned in a qipao, possessed an alluring appearance and graceful manner. Upon hearing this, she smiled slightly, "I'm sorry, sir, but our Treasure Pavilion has no sixth floor."

Lu Yuan, however, said nothing further, retrieving a Black Gold Card from his pocket and laying it on the reception counter.

The receptionist glanced at it, her expression shifting to one of respectful yet slightly alluring tone.

"Ah, a VIP. Please follow me, sir."

With that said,

she stepped out, slightly bowing before leading the way with graceful movements.

In his eyes, Lu Yuan showed appreciation, pocketing back his Black Gold Card, and followed her leisurely.

Treasure Pavilion.

To outsiders, it seemed merely a place for dining and socializing, albeit with high expenses, a private club.

But in reality, it wasn't that simple; it was actually an underground marketplace, a black market in simpler terms.

In it, one could purchase all sorts of things not allowed for trade in the open market.

However, first of all,

you needed at least a wealth of a hundred million, in cash.

In addition, an annual membership fee exceeding one million was required, indeed, just for membership.

Thus, those who knew and could enter were, unsurprisingly, few in number.

And Lu Yuan happened to be one of them.

Very soon, led by the receptionist, he walked through corridors, eventually arriving at an elevator with only one listed floor, the sixth.

Yet once they entered, the elevator, after starting, descends.

Indeed.

The sixth floor was not above ground, but below.

After a short while, the elevator doors opened, and Lu Yuan stepped out, leaving the receptionist inside.

Where he stood was a long hallway, dimly lit, yet upon stepping out, a vast venue appeared.

Similar to a bar, but larger, with brighter lights, each piece of furniture crafted from precious wood, worth at least hundreds of thousands.

This was the sixth floor of Treasure Pavilion.

However, there weren't many people, just a dozen or so.

Of course, those who could come here, aside from the staff, were all billionaires.

"Haha, Mr. Lu, long time no see, you seem more spirited than ever." Suddenly, a middle-aged man in a suit walked over, his face adorned with a cheerful smile. He was the Manager of Treasure Pavilion's sixth floor, surnamed Lin.

"Manager Lin, there's no need for pleasantries."

Lu Yuan waved his hand, getting straight to the point, "Where is the item I asked for last time? Have you found it for me?"
