Chapter 9 - PRS 9

Joseph Mahendra and Revan couldn't sleep all night. They worked overtime with Marrie and the IT team to track down the missing funds stored in the company account. The meeting room lights remained bright, piles of documents strewn across the table, and the sound of laptop typing could be heard incessantly.

"I'm going to Bank N this morning, Sir," said Marrie, tired but determined. "I have to print the company's bank statements to confirm where all the funds went."

Joseph stared at his laptop screen, which displayed a blank financial chart. "I want certainty, Marrie. There's no way those billions could have just disappeared without a trace," he said sarcastically. Although anger was gripping his heart, as a leader, he maintained his composure.

After discussing several emergency measures, Marrie finally excused herself to go home and change before heading to Bank N. Revan, who had been silent until then, suddenly remembered something that made his chest tighten.

"Pa," Revan said quietly, a little hesitant. "I think this has something to do with Arlina."

Joseph immediately turned his head, his sharp gaze piercing the night. "You mean... she stole all the company funds?" he guessed quickly.

"That's not it, Dad," Revan shook his head, swallowing hard. "This... I have to tell you."

He then explained the divorce, which couldn't be processed because Arlina's identity data was missing, vanished as if she never existed. He also recounted how all data related to Arlina suddenly vanished without a trace, just as the company's funds mysteriously vanished.

Joseph frowned, his voice filled with disbelief. "This is clearly strange and unreasonable."

"What do you think, James?" Joseph asked the head of the IT division, who had been busy typing.

James turned slowly, his eyes sharp. "In my opinion, this is most likely the work of a professional hacker. Someone who could delete all of Mrs. Arlina's personal data and penetrate our financial system must have a high level of skill. For a hacker like that, manipulating account and identity data is not impossible."

Joseph nodded slowly. "I believe that explanation more than Revan's assumption," he said coldly.

"Mrs. Arlina is real, Dad," Revan replied quickly, his voice rising with frustration. "We've been interacting with her for five years. There's no way she could suddenly disappear without a trace. If only her data was erased, maybe. But her identity? I'm sure she's still around. Maybe she's taken on a new identity and deliberately erased her past to cover her whereabouts."

James added calmly, "Moreover, she was recently divorced by Revan and thrown out by his wife, Olivia. It's natural for her to disappear, and perhaps she's seeking revenge."

That statement convinced Joseph even more, but Revan shook his head firmly. "Impossible, James. Arlina is an orphan. Hiring a professional hacker would cost a lot of money, and even her wallet and cell phone were left in her room. There's no way she could have done all this alone."

Joseph stared at his eldest son with an unreadable expression. "Arlina is smart, Revan. Maybe we don't really know her yet. She could have hidden supporters we don't know about. You and your mother were too reckless to cause us to suffer this misfortune."

Revan could only lower his head, holding back his anger and guilt. He had no idea the problem would escalate to this extent. If he had known, perhaps he wouldn't have acted so rashly and divorced Arlina without giving her a single penny. After all, most of the Mahendra family's wealth was the result of Arlina's hard work, including several valuable assets whose ownership had been secretly changed.

James broke the silence. "I think the best course of action now is to find Mrs. Arlina and try to speak to her directly. It's an inexpensive method, and perhaps our only hope."

Joseph closed his eyes for a moment, considering the suggestion. "Revan, that's your job. Find Arlina and bring her home," he ordered firmly.

Revan swallowed. Despite his inner resistance, he nodded obediently before heading home to rest and prepare for the search.

While Joseph and Revan were gripped by panic, Isabella Clark was in a different situation that morning. The twenty-two-year-old looked fresh and full of energy, welcoming the sunny day in City XX. She stood on her apartment balcony, facing the orange sky, taking a deep breath.

"Phoenix System, I want to check in daily," she said quietly.

[DING!!!]

[Check-in successful. Host gets 10 points today]

"Just points? No raffle like yesterday?" she asked curiously.

[The raffle doesn't appear every day. Just like missions, it can appear at any time at any time.]

Isabella sighed with a small smile. "Okay, I can't be greedy.

Ten points is good enough."

"Phoenix System, show me my status panel," she then requested.
