Chapter 232 - Chapter 232: We’ll win!

[Pokémon: Wigglytuff]

[Type: Normal / Fairy]

[Level: 32]

[Ability: Cute Charm]

A pink Pokémon with big ears took the field.

There was a little curl of pink fluff on its head, making it look a bit… clumsy.

"Your Jigglypuff evolved?"

Grey recognized it right away—this was Jigglypuff's evolution.

He just hadn't expected Green to evolve it after only stepping out for a short trip.

And honestly, in terms of "hand feel," Jigglypuff was as satisfying to squeeze as Green's cheeks.

That kind of feeling was impossible to describe with words.

You had to try it yourself.

"Hey. What are you thinking about?"

Green narrowed her eyes, a chill running down her spine for no reason.

Looking at the expression on Grey's face—and then looking at the now-evolved Wigglytuff—she immediately remembered what Grey had done back then and instantly understood what he was thinking.

But since they were livestreaming, Green couldn't really blow up. She could only puff out her cheeks and shoot back at him.

"Nothing. Challenger goes first."

Grey played the classic "after you."

"Sigh… fine. I'll generously take the first move."

Green put one hand on her hip, staring ahead with the other poised like a commander. "Wigglytuffy, use Disarming Voice!"

Disarming Voice—Fairy-type, 40 base power. Same tier as Ember and Water Gun.

"Wiggly~tuff~!"

Wigglytuff closed its eyes and began to sing softly. A melodious voice drifted from its mouth, and a sweet, lingering tune followed.

Waves of pink radiance swelled from the song. Energy notes floated in the air and blasted toward Heracross.

The move wasn't fast, but the singing had a kind of "hard control" effect—if a Pokémon's willpower wasn't strong enough, it was easy to get locked in place and turned into a sitting duck.

And Green's Wigglytuff was exactly the type that specialized in singing. Even back when it was a Jigglypuff, it was already a top-tier vocalist.

Heracross was about to move—then the instant it heard the song, it froze on the spot.

"Oh? That singing is legit."

Grey rubbed his chin, genuinely surprised by Green's play.

He knew this Wigglytuff could fly. He didn't expect its singing to be this nasty too.

If even a "basic move" like Disarming Voice could do this, then if it "upgraded" into Alluring Voice, with higher power… wouldn't that be insane?

"Heracross—use Horn Attack on the ground."

Grey's command was simple and direct.

"Heracross!"

Heracross reacted immediately. While Disarming Voice's energy notes were still drifting in, the big horn on its head flared with a layer of white light—and it slammed down hard!

BANG!

A heavy thud echoed. The dojo floor trembled, and a shockwave rippled out, colliding with the incoming energy notes—

BOOOOM!!!

Fairy-infused smoke and dust burst outward. This kind of move collision smoke had happened so many times that the livestream chat couldn't see anything again.

But the viewers were used to it by now. What they really wanted to know was: how was Heracross supposed to find Wigglytuff through all that smoke?

Wigglytuff excelled at sound-based moves—opening with wide-area attacks.

Compared to that, Heracross's close-range style felt way too limited.

The chat had no idea how Grey was going to play this.

But if it was Grey… he had to have a plan, right?

With that thought, everyone watched Heracross closely, waiting to see what kind of crazy play Grey would pull next.

Before Grey could give his next order, Green chose to strike first.

"Wigglytuffy, use Hyper Voice!"

After watching Grey battle so many times, Green had already figured out the key to fighting him.

Fast offense. Fast offense. Always fast offense.

You had to chain moves before Grey could get his own off—ideally, you caught him completely off guard!

That was the conclusion she'd reached over the last few days.

It might not always work, but it would definitely affect Grey.

"Wiggly—TUFF!"

Inside the rolling smoke, Wigglytuff opened its mouth and inhaled deeply. Its body swelled like a balloon as air rushed in, even its pink fur standing on end—

Then the pressure hit its limit and detonated, mixed with Normal-type energy!

A visible ring-shaped shockwave tore through the smoke. The air warped and shuddered as it surged forward like a tidal wave, crushing toward Heracross!

Hyper Voice—90 base power.

And with same-type boost from Wigglytuff, it became terrifyingly strong!

As Hyper Voice rushed in, even the floor cracked with spiderweb fractures.

Seeing that, Grey raised an eyebrow. His voice stayed as calm as ever.

"Brick Break."

"Heracross!"

Heracross, blazing with fighting spirit, lifted its arms. Its blue armor was instantly coated in Fighting energy, and a brownish glow stood out sharply against the smoke—just the motion alone made the move's power feel oppressive.

The moment Hyper Voice was about to swallow Heracross whole—

Heracross swung its thick forearm down like it was splitting a mountain!

SHHHK!!!

The two moves collided. In a tearing sound that made your teeth ache, that soundwave—strong enough to shatter rock—was forcibly cleaved in half!

The split shockwaves roared past Heracross on both sides and exploded behind it, blasting two fan-shaped craters into the ground!

With a single strike, it bisected Hyper Voice.

"..."

Green's mouth opened, but for a moment, she couldn't say a single word.

She'd only been away for three days… and the Heracross under Grey's command was already this brutal?

"Challenger, don't let your thoughts drift off the battlefield," Grey reminded her kindly. "Otherwise, you won't be able to beat my Heracross."

When facing challengers, he usually "went easy" for the first three moves, then adjusted his plan based on what he saw.

If Green hadn't improved within those three moves…

Then she couldn't blame him for not holding back.

Hearing Grey say that, Green knew he was getting serious.

But now the problem was… her Wigglytuff's first two moves had both been shattered in one hit.

How was she supposed to fight this?

Fine. Desperate times…

Green thought of a possibility and decided to gamble everything on that move.

Because her Wigglytuff was a true singing king!

So many powerful Pokémon had bowed before its voice!

Even someone as strong as Heracross—after hearing it—would have to obediently fall asleep!

"Wigglytuffy, fly up and close in on Heracross!"

Green gave the order.

If she wanted to deal with Heracross, she had to bait an opening first.

Heracross was a close-range Pokémon—she didn't need to worry about it sniping her from afar.

If she could get in close, she'd be the one profiting!

Green felt it.

This one was stable.

She was going to win.
