Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Knocked Silly

"Melody Thorne, don't you dare tell anyone!" His large hand pulled the woman close, a stiff expression passing across his handsome, cold face.

Especially when he recalled the irresistible sweetness of her body in the pool today.

His body was even more tense!

All his self-control went to the dogs!

"Madam, Sir, are you okay?" came the cautious voice of the butler from outside.

"We're fine!" Melody Thorne gritted her teeth and replied, shaking off the man's hand as she headed outside.

Just as she descended the stairs, she saw a group of prominent figures.

"Melody, are you okay?" Ivy was the first to rush forward, grabbing Melody Thorne's arm,

having heard the screams from upstairs. She was thrilled, seeing Melody Thorne's limp, as if she'd been domestically abused.

She knew that with Jared Quinn's temperament, seeing Melody Thorne in his private pool, he would never let her off!

"Melody, are you getting kicked out of your home?" Ivy's eyes landed on the suitcase in her hand, gleaming more brightly than a mistress's cunning eyes, even more piercing!

Yet she feigned a look of pity for her.

Mrs. Quinn also noticed, letting out a cold snort—she had disagreed with this marriage from the start; getting kicked out was perfect!

Melody Thorne turned her gaze, eyes dark as if crystallized with an extreme chill. In her past life, Ivy's words still echoed clearly in her mind.

She realized all her misfortunes stemmed from her!

Giving her bad advice, drugging her, forcing her to jump into the sea.

And... her little treasure.

She would settle each account with her, one by one!

Ivy was startled by the glint in her eyes, but when she looked closely, she found nothing unusual.

Melody Thorne hadn't uttered a word since she came downstairs, just like that dazed statue she used to be, going along with whatever Ivy said!

Ivy's gaze met the tall figure on the stairs, a look of infatuation flashing through her eyes, yet she pulled Melody Thorne's hand, advising sincerely, "Melody, you shouldn't blame Jared,

if you had listened and not gone to his private pool, you wouldn't be facing eviction, right?"

The servants around stood one by one, waiting to watch the drama unfold.

After all, Melody Thorne making a fool of herself in front of them was nothing new,

for instance, climbing into Jared Quinn's bed in the middle of the night, making love-themed breakfasts every day, deliberately falling and asking Jared Quinn to catch her.

Practically everyone in Ardenia knew about Melody Thorne's embarrassing attempts to seduce the young master of the Quinn Family.

"How about I drive you home?" Ivy persevered in speaking up.

Letting out a snort, this Melody Thorne must have been beaten dumb by Jared; she used to speak, but now she couldn't even utter a word.

"Why bother sending her anywhere?" Mrs. Quinn snorted coldly, "Let her walk home herself, and don't come back anymore!"

"Ivy, why don't you stay for dinner before leaving."

"I... shouldn't," Ivy said bashfully, glancing at the man standing on the stairs, his lazy demeanor, and extraordinarily handsome face making her heart race.

Fortunately, this scheme wasn't in vain.

Melody Thorne naturally saw Jared, the "beast," posing as a heartthrob at the top of the stairs!
