When Melody Thorne woke up, it was already dark outside. She got out of bed and searched everywhere for Jared Quinn, inside and out, but couldn't find him.
"Where's Jared Quinn?" Melody Thorne asked as she stepped out of the room, each step causing her legs to ache.
A wounded patient had actually tormented her like this.
"Study," the butler gestured toward the study, his expression somewhat hesitant to speak.
The door to the study was closed. Melody Thorne pushed it open easily and entered. Jared Quinn was sitting at the desk, focused on something, his brows perfectly shaped like sword peaks, furrowed as if about to erupt in anger, his aura quite cold.
But he was utterly engrossed.
"Jared Quinn," Melody Thorne approached, her eyes about to gaze at what Jared Quinn was looking at.
"Pa" the book was slammed shut, she only caught a glimpse of a few big characters on the cover.
