Chapter 184 - Chapter 184 The New Boss of The Black Organization

Japan, Beika City.

Teitan Elementary School.

The God of Death Detective, Edogawa Conan, was riding in Dr. Agasa's Beetle car with Haibara Ai, tracking a silver sedan ahead of them.

The person in that car was none other than Beika City Television's top female anchor, Mizunashi Rena.

Just moments before, through a case accepted by Mouri Kogoro, he had discovered that the top anchor, Mizunashi Rena, was actually a member of the Black Organization.

"What's the mission for today? Gin?"

Conan's glasses, equipped with a built-in listening device, suddenly picked up Rena's voice.

Upon hearing the name [Gin], the expressions of both Conan and Haibara, sitting in the back seat, changed drastically.

Immediately after, another low, slightly hoarse male voice sounded:

"The mission is cancelled. Rum has ordered us to go to a different location."

"Beika City, Block 5, Poirot Café."

Hearing this address, Conan's face turned pale.

Because the Poirot Café was located directly below the Mouri Detective Agency.

'Could it be... my identity had been discovered?'

'Or was it just a coincidence?'

Whatever the reason, Conan knew he couldn't just stand by.

"Doctor, quick! To Uncle Mouri's office!" He shouted urgently.

"Rum... the organization's second-in-command, just below that person," Haibara whispered, her voice trembling, "Even he is involved in this operation? What is the organization planning?"

Conan, however, couldn't bother with that now. He hurriedly called Ran, praying internally that she and her father weren't already home.

"Bzzt... Bzzt..."

The continuous busy tone from the unanswered phone made the God of Death feel like grinding his teeth to dust.

"Damn it! Why isn't she picking up!?"

At that moment, on the street below the Mouri Detective Agency.

Mouri Kogoro and his daughter Mouri Ran, who had just parked their car and were about to head home, stood frozen on the opposite side of the street.

They stared dumbfounded at the scene inside the Poirot Café below their office.

Through the glass window, they could see a man and a woman inside locked in a passionate embrace, kissing fervently.

If this were any other time, Ran would have just blushed, pretended not to see, and hurried away.

But this time, she couldn't.

B-because the woman was her mother, Kisaki Eri!!

The man appeared to be around thirty, with spiky black hair and solid muscles that seemed ready to burst out of his expensive, custom-tailored black suit.

His two unruly hands were roaming all over her mother's body.

Kogoro was completely stunned.

At this moment, he could only feel angry.

Noticing her father's increasingly livid expression, Ran couldn't take it anymore.

She pushed open the café door and called out,

"One coffee, please!"

Eri, who had been enjoying the moment with her eyes closed, jolted at the familiar voice.

"R-Ran?!"

'Oh no, oh no, oh no! Ran must have seen it!'

Eri then shot a fierce glare at the bastard whose hands were still misbehaving on her slender waist and whispered harshly:

"I told you not to...! Let go of me right now!"

"What's there to be afraid of? We were going to tell the two of them sooner or later anyway," Jin said with a mischievous laugh.

'The two of them?'

Hearing these words, Eri was momentarily taken aback.

Then, the café door was pushed open again.

Kogoro walked in, his face dark. He had been hesitating across the street for a long time but ultimately decided to come in and confront the... adulterous couple.

He had initially wanted to point at them and curse them out.

But seeing the man's bulging muscles and his height of over 190 cm, Kogoro chose to be realistic... and backed down.

Eri's face turned even redder.

'Damn, damn, damn! They definitely saw just now. It's all this guy's fault for causing trouble here!'

"Mom, how could you..." Ran looked at Eri with tear-filled eyes, like a little abandoned stray dog... no, a little unicorn.

Eri's heart softened, but when she saw Kogoro, she bit her lip and took a stack of documents from her briefcase.

Straightening her collar, which had been messed up by Jin, she handed the documents to Kogoro with a cold expression.

"Take a look. If there are no issues, sign it."

At the top of the document, bold letters read:

[Divorce Agreement]

Kogoro, who hadn't known how to interject, had his expression change drastically.

He had thought Eri had, at most, hooked up with some young pretty boy... no, some meaty hunk during their separation.

He never expected her to go this far, directly seeking a divorce.

"Mom!" This time, Ran couldn't hold back. She threw herself into Eri's arms, large teardrops falling like little pearls, "D-Don't you want me and Dad anymore?"

"Ran, of course Mom wants you! But you know..." Eri's words trailed off, unsure how to continue.

After all, it had been nearly ten years.

Even acquaintances could see that her marriage with Kogoro had reached its end.

If, like before, no suitable person had appeared, she could have temporarily maintained the marriage for her daughter's sake, dealing with it after Ran started her own family.

But now that a suitable person had appeared, she really didn't want to put effort into maintaining this marriage in name only anymore.

"Actually, not divorcing is fine too. It's more exciting that way," Jin suddenly interjected.

The sobbing Ran immediately widened her eyes.

She looked back and forth between Jin and Eri in disbelief.

As if asking, 'Mom, how could you find such a pervert?'

Eri also shot the dead man an annoyed glare.

'What are you saying in front of my daughter, you damn horndog!'

"Is it for this guy that you want to divorce me?!" Kogoro finally couldn't help but speak up coldly.

"Hey, hey, a middle-aged loser who still needs his high school daughter to take care of him has no right to call me 'this guy'," Jin sneered. He then took out his phone, pressed a few buttons, and showed the screen to the Mouri father and daughter.

'One... ten... hundred... thousand... ten thousand... hundred thousand... million... ten million... hundred million...'

When they saw the number displayed in the account balance, the Mouri father and daughter were utterly dumbfounded.

'Holy crap, that's a lot of zeros.'

"Mom! You can't abandon Dad just because he's poor! And Dad has been working hard lately! Ah! [Sleeping Kogoro]! You know about that, right? Dad has solved many cases recently!" Ran tried her utmost to salvage her parents' relationship.

"And then spent all the commission fees on chasing idols and losing at pachinko, right?" Jin chimed in.

"You!" Ran's face turned pale then red.

She truly had no rebuttal for that.

"Alright, that's enough," Eri shot Jin another fierce glare.

Although this man's position in her heart had already surpassed that idiot Kogoro, he still couldn't compare to the flesh that came out of her body, Ran.

She couldn't let him bully her daughter like this anymore.

Jin felt wronged.

'Bully? I'm just stating facts.'

"Let's go upstairs to talk... You stay here!" Eri added, pouting and glaring threateningly at Jin at the end, afraid he would follow and say something even more shocking.

Jin shrugged, but he was more looking forward to the night.

God knows how a woman in her thirties can still make such an adorably fierce expression.

The family of three, at least for now, walked out of the room.

Just then, several luxury cars pulled up by the roadside.

Men and women dressed in all-black suits got out of the cars.

"Wow! A real beauty!" When Kogoro saw the tall, curvaceous figure of Vermouth, with her waist-length blonde hair and form-fitting black leather outfit, his eyes nearly popped out.

He completely failed to notice Eri's face growing darker and darker.

'After ten years, this dog is still the same. This divorce is final!'

Ran, in her heart, was also frustrated and disappointed by her father's behavior.

'It's fine on normal days, but what are you thinking, looking at other women at a time like this?'

However, when she noticed Vermouth's stunningly beautiful face, Ran also frowned slightly.

'She feels familiar... where have I seen her before?'

Noticing her [Angel], Vermouth's heart was also roiling with shock.

But she knew even more clearly that she must not show it.

She absolutely couldn't let Gin and the others discover her anomaly.

Therefore, she could only put on a cold expression and quickly walk past the family.

"Are you..." After entering the café, Gin looked around and fixed his gaze on the only person present, Jin, asking in a deep voice.

Although Gin had met Rum a few times, he knew in his heart that the [Rum] he saw might not be the real one.

Often, like Vermouth, Rum would appear in disguise. So Gin himself wasn't sure if this man, who remained completely unfazed by their group, was Rum in disguise.

"He's in a trash can in the alley, take a left outside," Jin said with a faint smile.

Hearing this, the members of the Black Organization all had drastic changes in expression.

Rena, standing at the outermost edge, hurried outside.

Two minutes later, she returned, her face pale, "Th-There's the body of a middle-aged man inside... c-can't confirm who it is..."

"Oh, none of you have ever seen Rum's real face, right? But I don't have the mind to explain it to you," Jin said, still smiling, "Rum is dead now, Gin. You're the organization's second-in-command."

"Just who are you?!" Gin's hand slipped into his coat, gripping the pistol hidden inside.

'Could he be someone newly promoted by the Boss?'

'But wait!'

'He said I'm the 'second-in-command'?'

"Karasuma Renya is also dead," Jin said, pulling a dead crow out of seemingly nowhere and placing it on the table.

Vermouth, who was highly favored by Renya, had her expression change drastically.

She recognized it at a glance… it was Renya's pet crow.

Click! Click! Click!

The sound of guns being cocked rang out in unison.

All the Black Organization's members present drew their weapons and aimed them at Jin.

"Aww, so loyal? Are you all that eager to join him in the afterlife?" Jin said with a smile.

The moment his words fell, Gin and the others felt the world spin before their eyes.

Scenes of mountains of corpses and seas of blood flashed before them like slides.

Despairing, twisted images combining all the negative emotions of the world… screams, wails, moans, were forcibly crammed into their minds.

By the time they regained their senses, they had all fallen to their knees with a thud.

Rena and Chianti, with weaker constitutions, even started dry heaving.

"Y-You... just what are you...?" Cold sweat drenched Gin's back.

Jin stood up and walked over.

Under their fearful gazes, he bent down and took the pistol from Gin's hand.

Then, to their stunned disbelief, he pointed the gun at his own temple.

Bang!

A gunshot rang out.

But in the blink of an eye, Gin and the others saw the man holding a bullet less than a centimeter away from his temple, firmly pinched between the index and middle fingers of his left hand.

"Join those two in death? Or join the new Black Organization?"

Hearing this, the Black Organization's members glanced at each other.

A few seconds later, they all lowered their heads in submission.

"Good," Jin smiled slightly. Sitting back down lazily, he said, "Korn, give me your sniper rifle."

Korn was taken aback but obediently handed his rifle to Jin.

"I really hate being watched." Jin said.

Without even using the scope, he took the gun and aimed it out the window towards a building.

Gin and the others turned to look in the direction the barrel was pointing.

That was... a building at 10 o'clock!

Bang!

The trigger was pulled.

Chianti had just put her eye to her sniper scope.

Then she saw, Akai Shuichi, who was also set up with a rifle on the rooftop of that building, get shot right between the eyes and fall on the spot.

"Akai Shuichi! It's Akai Shuichi! Akai Shuichi has been killed!" Chianti screamed.

Gin and the others performed a hat trick, showing expressions of seeing a ghost for the third time.

They weren't surprised that Shuichi was shot, but that this new boss had managed to hit a target 800 meters away without using a scope.

'Is... is he even human?!'

"Except for Mizunashi Rena and Vermouth, the rest of you go retrieve Akai Shuichi's body," Jin ordered calmly after tossing the sniper rifle back to Korn.

Gin, Vodka, Chianti, and Korn didn't dare refute and they hurried out.

When only the three of them remained in the room, Jin crossed his legs and said:

"Vermouth, come here, let me feel you up a bit. Mizunashi Rena, make me a fresh cup of coffee."

Hearing this order, the two women's expressions turned strange.

Vermouth gritted her teeth, but in the end, she obediently went and sat next to him.

Jin mercilessly grabbed her right... large mango, and suddenly sneered:

"You've been eavesdropping for so long, why not come in and chat, Conan-kun, Ai-chan~"

Hearing this, Vermouth and Rena's faces changed drastically.

Meanwhile, the God of Death, Dr. Agasa, and Haibara Ai in the Beetle car across the street were as if struck by lightning.

"They discovered the listening device? But... how did he know it was me?" Conan's face turned pale with fear.

In contrast, Haibara, who should have been the most afraid of the Black Organization, was the quickest to calm down.

"There's no escape. Let's go..."
