Chapter 113 - Xiao Wu: I Hate Titan Giant Ape!

"Grandpa, I'm leaving."

Zhou Sidong had stayed in Spirit Hall for seven full days. During those days, he spent almost all his time with his grandfather, and Qian Daoliu finally experienced a taste of long-lost family warmth.

"Be careful on the road. Do you need me to send someone to escort you?" Qian Daoliu asked worriedly.

After all, this grandson had literally crawled out of the gates of hell. The journey from Spirit Hall to Heaven Dou City was fifteen days. Even at Zhou Sidong's flying speed, it would still take five days.

Mountains, forests… danger everywhere.

Zhou Sidong smiled and shook his head. "No need, Grandpa. I have the Evil Demon Orca King, the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger, and the Three Ant Brothers with me. With them around, I basically walk sideways across the entire Douluo Continent."

Qian Daoliu naturally understood his grandson's confidence. The kid actually dragged back Tianqing Niúmǎng and Titan Giant Ape alive. That alone was unbelievable.

"Good! I wish you a smooth journey!"

Qian Daoliu patted his grandson's shoulder hard, his eyes full of reluctance.

"Grandpa, farewell."

After a final embrace, wings of gold unfurled behind Zhou Sidong. Paired with his Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone, he shot into the sky like a golden meteor, shrinking into a distant point in Qian Daoliu's vision.

Once Zhou Sidong disappeared, Qian Daoliu finally turned back toward the Elder Palace, an empty feeling lingering inside him.

Zhou Sidong stayed seven days in Spirit Hall, and the entire continent had been in an uproar for seven days.

Humans and soul beasts had always been mortal enemies.

Soul masters relied on soul beasts for soul rings. Soul beasts lived every day trembling for survival. Cultivating a thousand or ten thousand years was a hard-won achievement.

And beings like Tianqing Niúmǎng and Titan Giant Ape—super soul beasts beyond reason.

Because Spirit Hall had captured them and even put them on public display for a month, Spirit City had been bustling nonstop. Soul masters from all over the continent flocked there.

Spirit Hall's reputation kept climbing—already surpassing the two empires.

Heaven Dou Empire and Star Luo Empire were, unsurprisingly, furious. Spirit Hall was growing too strong, too fast. They could only watch helplessly as a greater power rose right before their eyes.

If they tried to capture those two super soul beasts? Before their armies even saw them, the beast tide would devour everything.

Heaven Dou City, Shrek Academy.

On the bed, Yu Xiaogang—who had been unconscious for seven days—finally woke up. His entire body was wrapped like a mummy, only his eyes visible. Luckily, his mouth still worked.

The doctor treating him called it a miracle. Every part of Yu Xiaogang's body was wounded—except his face. Yet the diagnosis showed his face had suffered the heaviest blow.

In the end, the doctor concluded—

The Master's face… was simply too thick to damage.

Liu Erlong's eyes reddened with tears as she watched the man she loved awaken. "Thank goodness, Xiaogang, you finally woke up…"

Yu Xiaogang couldn't move. His bones were shattered, and it took three days of emergency rescue just to keep him alive.

"Erlong… how long… was I out?" His voice was weak and broken.

"Seven days," Liu Erlong answered softly.

"Seven days… sigh…" Yu Xiaogang's eyes filled with tears. "In my entire life, I've never suffered such humiliation! Dugu Bo, I will kill you!"

Then he suddenly looked at Liu Erlong anxiously. "Erlong, after I was blasted away that day, did Dugu Bo die? Tang Hao must've killed him, right?"

Yu Xiaogang was eager—he desperately wanted to hear that Dugu Bo was dead.

But Liu Erlong sighed. "He didn't die. He's alive and well."

Yu Xiaogang almost bounced off the bed. Several bandages ripped. Pain shot through him.

"Xiaogang! Don't move!" Liu Erlong hurriedly held him down.

"If Dugu Bo is alive… I'm finished!" Yu Xiaogang cried again. He knew exactly what kind of man Dugu Bo was.

Surviving this time only meant Dugu Bo would kill him later.

"With Tang Hao's strength, killing Dugu Bo should've been easy! How could he still be alive?! How?!!"

Yu Xiaogang repeated the same line over and over. Liu Erlong also felt helpless.

"What about Xiao San? Is he alright?" Yu Xiaogang finally remembered his student.

"He's fine, but…" Liu Erlong hesitated. Obviously hiding something.

"But what?"

"Xiao San has been going to Heaven Dou Royal Academy lately."

Yu Xiaogang blinked, confused. "Heaven Dou Royal Academy? Hmph! Have we not suffered enough humiliation there? What is he doing in that place?"

Because of Zhou Sidong, Yu Xiaogang hated that place deeply.

"Xiao San went to find Zhou Sidong to ask for a type of herb. They say Dugu Bo gave those herbs to Zhou Sidong. They can increase soul power and perfectly heal injuries. Even your current condition could be repaired… and also…" Liu Erlong trailed off. She could see Yu Xiaogang's eyes burning with greed.

"And what?" Yu Xiaogang pressed urgently.

"The herb can help break bottlenecks. It may help you finally overcome the soul power blockade that has trapped you for decades."

Yu Xiaogang's eyes widened. "Where's the herb?! Did you give it to me?!"

He looked around. He was still bedridden. Clearly—no herb.

"According to Heaven Dou Royal Academy, Zhou Sidong is on a one-month leave. He's not there." Liu Erlong sighed helplessly.

"Hmph! That brat is clearly doing this on purpose!" Yu Xiaogang's anger flared up again.

"Regardless of purpose, those herbs were given to Zhou Sidong by Dugu Bo. Zhou Sidong also saved Dugu Bo's life. Giving the herbs to him is natural. I'm certain Xiao San will be refused." Liu Erlong pictured the worst-case scenario.

But Yu Xiaogang said coldly, "Treasure belongs to those worthy. Zhou Sidong brought disaster to Shrek Academy, and after causing such damage, he still has these herbs? Heavenly injustice! I'm gravely injured. My life may be ruined…"

His expression dimmed.

"That herb is my last hope. Erlong, you must help me get it. Even one stalk!"

Liu Erlong fell silent. The man's face truly was legendary in thickness.

"But…" she tried, "those herbs are Zhou Sidong's now. Asking him outright…"

"Afraid of what?!" Yu Xiaogang roared, eyes red. "Dugu Bo beat me like this! Should he not compensate? And Zhou Sidong caused all this chaos for Shrek. Taking a herb or two is only fair!"

"…Alright. When Zhou Sidong returns, I'll have Xiao San try again." Liu Erlong reluctantly agreed. It was the only hope for Yu Xiaogang's future.

And the infamous word "twenty-nine"—already spread across Heaven Dou City as a joke—tormented Yu Xiaogang endlessly.

"The continent has been restless lately. Spirit Hall caused a huge commotion," Liu Erlong said while giving him water.

"Spirit Hall?" Yu Xiaogang frowned. Spirit Hall offended him worse than Zhou Sidong did. His lifelong theories were worthless before them.

And Spirit Hall contained someone he least wanted to see.

"What could they possibly be doing? A bunch of shortsighted fools. They never appreciated my theories. Spirit Hall will fall sooner or later." His belly was full of anger—toward Zhou Sidong, toward Dugu Bo, toward Spirit Hall.

"Seven days ago, Spirit Hall captured Tianqing Niúmǎng and Titan Giant Ape. They're being exhibited publicly. And rumor says Spirit Hall has recruited over twenty thousand free soul masters." Liu Erlong's tone became heavy.

Silence.

Yu Xiaogang's eyes widened. "Tianqing Niúmǎng and Titan Giant Ape… the Forest Emperor and Forest King… captured? Impossible!"

He sucked in a cold breath. Those two super soul beasts were equivalent to, or stronger than, any Titled Douluo. Spirit Hall's strength was terrifying.

"Twenty thousand free soul masters… Spirit Hall's ambition is undeniable…" Yu Xiaogang's face darkened.

"It's said that woman led the elders to capture them." Liu Erlong's expression also fell—because of Bibi Dong.

"Is that so?"

Yu Xiaogang froze—then quickly reassured her. "Erlong, don't misunderstand. There's nothing between us."

His survival instinct kicked hard.

Liu Erlong snorted. "It better be. A few days ago I made a decision—Xiaogang, we have a daughter."

Yu Xiaogang instantly froze. His eyes drifted to her stomach. His face turned green.

He'd always been a blockhead; her nightly "invitations" never quite succeeded.

"E-Erlong, you…"

His mind had already conjured an entire green meadow above his head.

"What are you thinking?!" she rolled her eyes. "It's Xiao Wu. I've taken her as my god-daughter."

"Oh… that's good." Yu Xiaogang exhaled in relief. He almost thought Flender had stolen his woman.

Flender: "…"

"But lately Xiao Wu's been in a terrible mood. She cries alone often. I asked her, even Xiao San asked her, but she refuses to say anything." Liu Erlong looked troubled.

"Don't worry. Xiao Wu is strong. She'll recover quickly," Yu Xiaogang said.

But right now, Xiao Wu was facing the biggest heartbreak of her life.

Back mountain, inside a small wooden hut.

"Wuu wuu wuu…"

Soft sobbing leaked out. Xiao Wu's voice.

"Da Ming, Er Ming… how could you be captured by Spirit Hall? Without you, how am I supposed to live…" Xiao Wu cried. This place was where she'd come every day since the news—her hidden place to grieve.

Seven days ago, when she first heard Spirit Hall had captured Tianqing Niúmǎng and Titan Giant Ape, she refused to believe it.

Impossible. Her Da Ming and Er Ming were unbeatable.

But the rumor became truth.

They were caught—tied up at the foot of Spirit Hall Mountain—for everyone to gawk at.

Xiao Wu completely broke.

For seven days she shut herself away.

Her mind was filled with only one thing: how to rescue them.

If they stayed in Spirit Hall's hands, they would inevitably become soul rings and soul bones.

Time was running out. As their big sister, she had the responsibility to save them.

"Dong dong dong."

Someone knocked.

Xiao Wu wiped her tears. "Who?"

"It's me, Rongrong."

Ning Rongrong stood outside with food. "Xiao Wu, it's been seven days. What's wrong with you?"

The others were there too—six Shrek members now, ever since Zhu Zhuqing left. Flender was already planning to recruit a seventh to rebuild the "Seven Devils."

Xiao Wu opened the door. Seeing everyone, a warmth flickered in her chest.

"Xiao Wu, what happened?" Dai Mubai asked.

She forced a smile. "Don't worry. To be honest… a few days ago was my mother's death anniversary. I grew up with her… but she's already…"

Tears welled up again.

Everyone fell silent—except Ma Hongjun, who scratched his head. "But Teacher Erlong is alive and well, how—"

"You pig!" Dai Mubai slapped him. "That's Xiao Wu's mother, not Teacher Erlong! If Erlong-laoshi hears you—"

Ma Hongjun trembled violently.

The group exhaled silently.

Xiao Wu glared at him hard.

Oscar suggested, "Boss Dai, maybe we should take Xiao Wu out. Staying cooped up isn't helping."

Everyone agreed. Tang San nodded. "Xiao Wu, what do you think?"

"…Alright." Xiao Wu nodded helplessly.

With her current strength, saving Da Ming and Er Ming was impossible. She could only wait and see.

Then Ma Hongjun offered, "Why don't we go to Spirit Hall and see Tianqing Niúmǎng and Titan Giant Ape?"

Xiao Wu's heart instantly dropped. A terrible feeling surged up.

"Tianqing Niúmǎng and Titan—"

Just hearing Titan Giant Ape, Tang San's face darkened.

"That damned beast! It kidnapped Xiao Wu! If not for her good fortune we'd all be doomed. I don't like Spirit Hall either, but I'll admit—this time they did a great job!"

"…"

A knife to Xiao Wu's heart.

Dai Mubai nodded. "That beast almost wiped us out. Now that both are in Spirit Hall's hands, becoming someone's soul rings and soul bones is the best ending for those two animals."

Another knife.

Xiao Wu's legs weakened.

"I… um…" She forced a shaky smile. "Maybe we shouldn't go? It's half a month away…"

Tang San frowned. "Xiao Wu, don't you hate that beast for taking you away? Don't you want revenge?"

Xiao Wu clenched her teeth hard. "…I hate it. Of course I hate it."
