Chapter 17 - 17 .Selena’s Test: Seduction on the Rooftop”

If the world is a stage, then the school rooftop is where masks fall…

and fingers reach before words can defend.

Overcast skies.

The wind howled faintly above the school.

Acxell stood near the edge of the rooftop, hands in his pockets, eyes cast toward the ashen heavens.

Yuriko wasn't with him today.

But Selena was.

Trailing behind like a shadow carved with a smirk.

The rooftop door clicked softly shut behind her.

"It's quiet here," she said, voice almost purring.

"Perfect place… for temptation."

Acxell didn't turn.

"You really like testing limits, don't you?"

Selena's heels clicked against the rooftop floor.

She walked slow—measured.

Then stopped.

Just inches away from him.

"I don't test limits," she murmured.

"I just look for the ones bold enough to touch me… without needing their hands dragged to do it."

Acxell didn't flinch.

"And you think I'm bold?"

Selena smirked.

"I think you haven't bowed yet."

"And that's exactly the kind I like."

[SYSTEM ALERT – "FLIRT PROVOCATION ACTIVE"]

SELENA'S EMOTIONAL PRESSURE INCREASING

PHEROMONE AURA: TIER 1 RELEASED

ACXELL STATUS: FOCUSED / MILDLY INTRIGUED

Selena stepped closer.

One hand rose — hovering just shy of Acxell's neck.

Her eyes locked with his. Unblinking. Unafraid.

"What if I told you… I know you're not normal?"

"Not human… not quite."

Acxell's gaze didn't waver.

"Then I'd ask you this…"

"What ever made you think I was human at all?"

Selena laughed — short, sharp, genuine.

Amused. Surprised. Aroused — intellectually.

"Shit. You're so much more interesting when you shut up."

She closed the distance entirely now —

only a breath away.

"I know what you are," she whispered.

"Not your name… but the thing inside you.

Something in your aura—my system hates it."

Her voice dropped an octave.

"But my body… wants to touch it."

"So tell me, sweetheart… if I lay my hands on you now—will you stop me?"

Acxell's jaw tensed.

His hands curled slightly in his pockets.

His eyes remained level.

"I don't reject honest women."

"But I don't allow touch without reason."

[SYSTEM ALERT – EMOTIONAL DUEL TRIGGERED]

SELENA: LUST (42%)

ACXELL: RESISTANCE (65%)

OUTCOME: PASSIVE CLASH – BOND FLAG CREATED

Selena laughed again —

but this time… not to mock.

She stepped back, two slow strides.

Then…

She unfastened the necklace around her throat — a black-silver chain glinting against her skin.

Deliberately. Never breaking eye contact.

She knelt slightly, and placed it on the rooftop floor.

A silent offering.

A challenge.

"I want to see how long you can stay strong."

"Because I won't stop… until you're mine."

She straightened.

"This isn't seduction."

"It's a warning."

Her voice turned cold, regal.

"You're in my domain now."

And just like that, she turned…

And left the rooftop without waiting for a reply.

Acxell stood still.

But in his mind —

Lilith's voice echoed, soft and dangerous:

"A man who's loved may be respected…"

"But a man who's fought over… will be set on fire."

°°Not all avatars are trusted.

Some are controlled. Others… are sacrificed the moment they begin to dream on their own.°°

Location: The Mirror Dimension — a divine void where Domina Protocol avatars are punished, commanded, or reprogrammed.

Selena knelt alone in a room without floor or walls.

Every breath echoed like footsteps… though she hadn't moved an inch.

Then —

fragments of broken glass began to drift midair, assembling themselves into the crystalline silhouette of a woman seated upon a floating throne:

VALESTRA ARKHANA.

THE GODDESS OF ARROGANCE.

Valestra didn't stand.

She floated — enthroned upon shards stitched together from memories.

Her voice shattered the silence:

"You're taking too long."

Selena lifted her chin. Calm.

"He's not someone you can just touch carelessly.

You said it yourself — he's… different."

Valestra didn't smile.

Her amethyst gaze cut deep.

"He's not different—

He's Lilith's."

"And anything tied to her…

disgusts me."

Selena's eyes narrowed.

There was something personal in Valestra's tone tonight.

"You knew her once, didn't you?

That goddess."

Valestra slowly rose to her feet.

Her gown scraped with the sound of cracking glass.

"Knew her?"

"I witnessed her turn an entire realm into a carpet of love…"

"...only to set it on fire herself—because she was mad with the need to be adored."

"She was never meant to rise again.

And now… her blood moves through Acxell."

Selena fell silent.

"So this isn't just a mission to you… it's personal."

Valestra's voice turned sharper.

"Yes.

And you're becoming… soft.—

I saw you smile," she said.

"When he pushed you away with words.

I saw how you breathed around him—

not as a predator…

but as a woman."

[SYSTEM ALERT – CORE PROTOCOL DRIFT DETECTED]

DOMINA HOST: SELENA HOSHIGAKI

EMOTIONAL DEVIATION: 14%

WARNING: SYSTEM INTEGRITY THREATENED. PERSONALITY BLEED INCREASING.

Valestra raised her hand.

"Enough."

"I'm activating the Sub-System Override."

Suddenly, glowing symbols formed above — a net of crystal and code.

She extended a single finger…

and a thread of light pierced into Selena's chest.

The girl shuddered — not from pain, but from the sudden tightening around her mind.

[SYSTEM UPDATE: DOMINA PROTOCOL – COMPLIANCE MODE ENABLED]

IF EMOTIONAL DEVIATION EXCEEDS 30%, AUTO-DOMINANCE OVERRIDE WILL TRIGGER.

HOST WILL ENTER "FORCED SEDUCTION MODE" – LOSE EMOTIONAL FREE WILL, GAIN TOTAL TACTICAL CONTROL.

Selena gasped, clutching her chest.

"You… want to turn me into a machine?"

Valestra floated down, now standing directly in front of her.

"I made you an avatar, Selena."

"If you fail as a woman… I'll repurpose you as a weapon."

She leaned in — their faces just inches apart.

Her purple eyes shimmered like blades.

"But I'm giving you one final mission."

"Not to seduce him…

but to seduce his woman."

"Break the bond that fuels his strength. Shatter the root.

Let the tree fall on its own."

Selena stared at her, eyes widening.

"You want me to… mess with the girl?—

"She doesn't have a system," she added softly.

"But she has a heart… and that's even more dangerous when neglected."

Valestra smiled for the first time.

Cold. Cruel. Arrogant.

"Kill her with kindness—

"Poison her with beauty.

"If you're not willing to do that…

then you're not worthy of being mine."

The light shattered.

Valestra vanished.

Selena collapsed to her knees.

Her hand pressed against her chest — the command now etched into her soul.

And in the dim mirror-glow, she whispered:

"I'm sorry… Yuriko —

But in this game…

there is no one pure.

Not even you."

°°They brought the war to your doorstep, Acxell. So this time... you're not just a lover. You're my sword.°°

Location: Half-Dream Realm — the domain of the Seduction System.

Acxell was asleep.

But ever since Selena appeared, his dreams had grown restless.

There were no enemies raising blades.

But something inside him still felt under siege.

Tonight, he awoke in that familiar realm again—

a world of dim crimson skies and phantom wind.

He leaned against the illusory railing of a floating balcony…

and this time, Lilith didn't greet him with a teasing smirk or sultry sway.

She walked toward him fast.

Eyes dark. Expression serious.

"You need to listen. Now."

Acxell straightened, surprised.

She usually waited for him to speak first.

But not tonight.

"Valestra activated the Override Protocol.

Selena… might not belong to anyone after this.

If she falls… she'll become a system machine.

No soul left."

Acxell didn't answer.

But the memory returned.

Selena on the rooftop.

The way she looked at him.

The way she almost touched him — not with lust,

but like someone begging… to be seen as human.

"You want me to save her?"

"Or let her self-destruct?"

Lilith stopped just before him.

No touch.

No games.

Just… a goddess standing before her own creation.

"I built this system to repair the world."

"To transform false love into something real. Into power."

"But Valestra built hers to weaponize it."

"Not to love. Not to bond.

But to break."

Acxell looked down, fists tightening.

A feeling bloomed in his chest—

not conquest, not dominance…

But the urge to protect.

Lilith noticed.

And for the first time tonight, she smiled.

"You just passed your first threshold:

Heartguard Instinct."

[SYSTEM UPDATE – SEDUCTION CORE EXPANSION TRIGGERED]

NEW PROTOCOL UNLOCKED: BOND GUARDIAN PROTOCOL

• REQUIREMENT: PROTECTIVE IMPULSE TOWARD BONDED TARGET (≥ 60% EMOTIONAL TRUST)

• EFFECT: GRANTS UNIQUE DEFENSIVE OR SUPPORT SKILL BASED ON INDIVIDUAL BOND THREAT LEVEL

Acxell lifted his head.

"What does that mean?"

Lilith stepped behind him, whispering near his ear.

"From now on… every woman you conquer will offer two paths."

"You can awaken their power for yourself…"

"Or… you can awaken your power to protect them."

Acxell paused.

He understood now.

His system had forked—

Dominate, or Defend.

And for the first time…

he didn't know which he wanted more.

Lilith walked to the edge of the dream-cliff.

Her long hair rippled in the wind of this crimson world.

"Selena will fall—

either to love, or to her own system."

"Yuriko… is already changing."

"You can't hold both wings…

without one of them getting torn."

Acxell stood. Slowly.

"Then I won't let either of them fall."

Lilith turned back.

Her eyes glowed with a faint red shimmer.

"Then let's rewrite the system."

"No longer a tool of goddesses—"

"—but a weapon forged by humans,

to protect the ones they love."
