Chapter 16 - Release

Ilaya nodded at the owner's question

"Yes, I don't know anything about me. I don't have any sliver of memories from my past. All I know is when I woke up on the street. My memories start with me waking up. I even suspected that I appeared out of nowhere. Of course…"

Ilaya's eyes widened. She was about to say "Of course that's impossible" but the thing that she knew now is making her questions reality

'Is it really possible that I appeared out of nowhere? I have a strange power now that is beyond the compression of humans, so, is it really strange that I somehow pops out of existence?'

As Ilaya was deep in thought, Mars looked at her and said excitedly

"Ilaya! My little sister! Can you tell me where you bought this thing? It's so pretty and mesmerizing"

Mars said as she turned her attention again on the ring with a dreamy look. Ilaya then annoyingly said to her

"Didn't you hear what I said? I said I can't remember. Also, give me back my ring"

Mars pouted and gave the ring back. The owner then ask

"So you woke up in the streets 3 days ago, with no memories whatsoever? Then what did you do after that?"

It seems that the owner is interested in my experience, well, I can't blame him. I'd be curious too if someone also experience what I had experience

Mars then sits again and said

"Yeah, that's pretty interesting too, what did you do?"

These people, their expression is like waiting for the opening of a movie. Do they think that my survival mode is fun?

Ilaya then sighed

"Well, after I woke up in the street, I immediately went to the hotel to have shelter, food, and clothing. There's no clothing in the hotel but, I managed to find shelter and food, as clothes is not really that urgent"

Then, she tells them about her daily lifestyle of waking up, bathing, eating, searching, eating again, bath, and sleeping. Then rinse and repeat. But she didn't tell about the address of the old house as she'll solve them by herself and most importantly

'I couldn't tell them about my powers. It's the only thing I need to keep to my chest. Having people know that I have power is much more worse than people learning that I had an amnesia'

I'll be chased and capture by the people that wants to have me and I'll definitely suffer fate worse than death

Ilaya then continues her story

"Then, as my money ran out yesterday, I left the hotel to wander around the city, trying to look for a place to sleep. I found the park again after so many walks, so I chose it as my sleeping spot. The night sky is full of stars anyway so, there's a high chance that no rain is going to fall. Then I slept there. Then, when the morning comes, I eat breakfast and wait for the time to pass. Then I came here. And now, here we are"

Ilaya then ends her story with her arms spread open and a forced smile

In truth, she's affected by her story the most. Only then she knows that her circumstances are so complicated and hard when she hears it with her own ears and being voiced out. Her will wavered as well as her emotion, but she swiftly calmed herself down.

It seems that my practice of banishing the whispers is also effective in calming down my emotions

The owner and Mars looked at her. She didn't even need to guess what they were thinking. Sh*t, this feeling is so itchy.

The staff room became silent for a while, then Mars then break the silence

"You've been through a lot"

Mars then got up of her chair and approach Ilaya

"W-what are doing?

Mars then sits besides her and gives her a hug and pats her back

"There, there, you've done well Ilaya"

Ilaya didn't move as she let Mars comfort her. She didn't know what to do. Then she lowered her head as her emotion stirred and she sobbed, then she hugged Mars as she cried

"It's been so hard! Wahh! It's so painful! I'm so tired! I'm so lonely! Hahhh!"

She bursts with emotions that she couldn't let out when she's alone because she knows that it will break her if she showed a little bit of weakness. She can only rely on herself to keep herself moving

Now, having received a warm hug and comfort. She allows her steady emotions to collapse because llaya also yearns for comfort and protection

She cried so much while being patted at the back by Mars while resting her cheek at Ilaya's head

After a while, Ilaya stopped crying and let go of Mars. She put her hands on her knees while leaning her head so much that she's almost bowing. Her ears are red and she feels like a smoke will start rising from her head

'How embarrassing!!'

How could I hug Mars while bawling my eyes out! I even speak so many nonsense! I'm so lonely!? I'm so tired!? And what's the other? It's so painful!? Ahhhhh!!

Ilaya really wants to tear her hair apart now and dug a hole to bury herself. However she can only stay silent as she felt that her embarrassment is too much for her to be able to form a proper words

The owner then sighed and said to her

"You've convinced me, I'll let you stay here for now. We're going to leave now as the time is already late. You can cook in the kitchen if your hungry"

Ilaya then shouted in her mind

'What convinced you huh!? Is it my bawling!? Stop it already! You're just now rubbing salt on my wound!'

Ilaya then nodded even as she was still leaning to hide her face. The other two then saw this and didn't say anything. Then the owner exited the room as Mars followed. Then, Mars stopped moving and looked at Ilaya

"We're going now Ilaya. If you need anything in the future, you can tell me about it. Alright?"

Ilaya then looked up and said to her

"Alright, thank you nee-chan"

Mars nodded

"Then I'm going now. Goodnight Ilaya"

With that, Mars left the room and closed the door
