Chapter 70 - A Step Past Tradition

Martial arts are something formed not just by thinking, but by the honed experience gathered from countless moments throughout a person's life and belief. Maybe it comes from fighting an opponent, or from observing nature and gaining enlightenment. 

Most martial arts in the realms are formed by masters of that realm, people who decided to hone their potential to the fullest, and then pass down their knowledge in the form of a skill so their followers can learn it, and maybe one day walk beyond their footsteps. 

But because the nature of humans is to choose the easiest route, only a select few try to make a breakthrough. Instead, they simply replace the technique with a new one that fits their current cultivation level or interest. 

"It would be such a sadness if I created something and no one could surpass me. After all, the worst nightmare of a teacher is that no student can surpass them." 

Civilization is built upon one principle at its core, passing things down.
