Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: Embarrassed Athena

Her shirt clung tighter, drenched enough that every detail of the net bra beneath was visible. Her nipples pressed hard against the fabric, her full, round breasts outlined perfectly, drawing choked gasps from boys nearby.

A girl's voice shouted from the back, "Go, girl!"

Another chimed in, "Show them what a bitch can do!"

The voices only fueled the storm.

Even the Phantom Fours faltered. Eryx's smirk faltered into heat as his eyes darkening. Azrael scratched the back of his neck, a faint smirk tugging at his lips though his gaze stayed glued to her. Theodore leaned forward, not bothering to hide the way his eyes shifted between her face and her chest, pure amusement and hunger dancing in his eyes.

And Rhydric, the cold unreadable Rhydric actually froze. His storm gaze flickered over her, unreadable, but beneath that mask was a fire he didn't show anyone.

Athena leaned forward just slightly, her cleavage spilling in plain view, enough to make several guys shifted uncomfortable in their seats.

She knew she was going to regret every bit of this, but she didn't care not right now.

Her voice came next, husky, hot, and daring.

"I don't need to claim anyone…" she said slowly, eyes never leaving Eryx. "Men like him…" she let her gaze drop deliberately down his chest, "they come to me on their knees. Because I can do what little girls who bark at me can only dream of."

Her words dropped like bomb, the last one sharper than the first.

The cafeteria exploded. Whispers, laughter, shocked shouts, it all blended together into chaos.

And Adrianna? Her face turned red with pure rage. Everyone knew exactly who Athena was talking about obviously.

Eryx's smirk widened like he wanted to clap for her.

Azrael leaned his chin on his hand, openly entertained.

Theodore's grin stretched wider, wicked and amused.

And Rhydric's gaze lingered on her for a while before he finally looked away, but his jaw was tight.

Adrianna definitely wasn't going to let that slid, her pride wouldn't let her so she stormed toward Athena like a bitch she was and raised her hand to slap Athena.

But Athena didn't flinch. She didn't even blink. She just kept her gaze steady on Adrianna, her eyes burning like calm fire.

"Go on," Athena said, her voice low and smooth, like silk cutting through glass. "Try it. Lay a hand on me… and I'll make sure your precious Eryx learns what it feels like to beg between my legs. And when I'm done, I'll toss him right back to you. Broken."

The words hit like a gunshot. The entire cafeteria froze, a collective gasp rippling through the students. Adrianna's raised hand trembled in the air, her lips parting but no sound came out.

Athena's smirk deepened. She was done taking bullshit from everyone. Then she brushed past Adrianna without giving her a second glance.

When she reached her table, she picked up her discarded shirt with deliberate slowness. Leo, leaning casually on his chair with that mischievous smirk, let out a low whistle.

"Damn, girl," he said, loud enough for everyone to hear. "If I wasn't gay, I'd be the first on my knees."

A few students laughed nervously, but no one dared speak against Athena after what she'd just unleashed.

Felicia quickly stood up to her feet, still wide-eyed, her mouth half-open in shock. Athena started walking away, calm as ever, like she hadn't just set the cafeteria on fire. Felicia hurried after her, while whispers erupted behind them.

And at the back, the Phantom Fours still watched. Eryx leaned back with a slow, dangerous smirk. Azrael tilted his head, biting back a laugh, damn, Adrianna's face was so funny. Theodore's grin was pure mischief, his eyes never leaving Athena's retreating figure. And Rhydric… cold, dark Rhydric, still didn't move. But his gaze followed her until she disappeared from sight.

Athena didn't stop until she pushed open the door of an empty classroom. She stormed inside, her chest heaving, and slammed the door shut behind her. Felicia slipped in right after, panting a little from running, just in time to see Athena grab her own hair with both hands.

"God!" Athena groaned, grabbing her long white strands like she wanted to rip them out. "I'm such a dead meat. How the hell am I supposed to face anybody now?" Her voice cracked between anger and embarrassment. She banged her palm against the wall, the sound echoing sharply. "This is so shameful!"

Felicia froze for a second, watching her with wide eyes then out of nowhere, she burst into laughter. Real laughter, the kind that made her bend over and hold her stomach. Tears welled up in her eyes as she gasped for breath.

"Oh my God!" she whined, clutching her stomach like it was about to fall out. "I can't..." She laughed harder, tears streaming down her face. "I can't do this anymore. The way you banged your hand" She banged her own palm dramatically against the wall, mimicking Athena, and collapsed against a desk, almost falling to the floor.

Athena spun around, her white hair falling wildly around her face. If she wasn't angry at that moment, she would be undeniable sexy. She gave her a deadly glare. Her chest still rose and fell hard, and her lips were pressed in a tight line.

But Felicia's laughter was too much. It filled the whole classroom like music. And slowly, against Athena's will, her lips twitched. She tried to keep the straight face, but the corner of her mouth betrayed her. Then she burst into laughter, raw and shaky at first, then deep and uncontrollable.

Now it was both of them, laughing like maniacs.

Thank God Leo didn't follow them, or it would have been worse.

"Oh, my stomach" Felicia clutched herself, sliding down on a chair as tears streaked her face. "I swear I'm going to die right here."

Athena leaned against a desk, still laughing but trying to control it. She covered her face with one hand, her body shaking. "This is insane," she muttered through her laughter. "We're insane."

When the laughter finally started to settle, both girls were breathless, their cheeks red, their eyes watery.

Felicia wiped her tears and looked at Athena with a grin so wide it almost hurt. "You know," she started, trying to compose herself but failing, "five minutes ago you were bold enough to face Adrianna, the cafeteria's resident bitch and the Phantom Four." She raised her arms like she was holding a crown over Athena's head. "You walked up there like a fearless queen, throwing daggers with your eyes like the devil sent you."

Athena arched a brow, trying to look unimpressed, but Felicia wasn't done.

"And now?" Felicia leaned closer, lowering her voice with mock seriousness, then suddenly spread her arms wide in a dramatic gesture. "Now look at you, trembling like a fish. A helpless little fish flopping on the floor, gasping for air. Doesn't know whether to swim or just die. Just lying there like 'help me, help me.'"

The way she said it, the way she even mimicked a fish with her mouth opening and closing, was so stupid and unexpected which made Athena cracked again. She burst into laughter, bending over as her stomach ached.

"You're an idiot," Athena managed to say, pointing at her.

Felicia grinned, still acting like a dying fish. "Thanks."

Their laughter rang out again, sharp and messy, but it loosened everything. The shame, the heaviness, the pressure it melted into this wild moment between two girls who barely knew each other but already felt like partners-in-crime.
