Chapter 16 - Chapter 16

"Yo, meeting the three teenagers again, huh?"

Walking out of the public restroom with his usual laid-back smile, Gojo Satoru spotted three familiar figures crouching against the corner of the wall. Their postures looked more like stray dogs than high schoolers.

Gojo tilted his head, amused.

He had known about their clumsy attempt at tailing him from the very beginning. Tracking him? Please. Even blindfolded, while humming anime openings, and eating his favorite sweet at the same time, even then he could have caught their movements. He only pretended not to notice for his own entertainment.

But really—following him into the restroom, and worse, trying to "compare sizes"? That was practically begging for a lifetime of psychological scars.

Hearing his familiar voice, the three boys—Yoshitake Tanaka, Hidenori Tabata, and Tadakuni Shihara—slowly lifted their heads.

Their faces were pale, their eyes hollow. Any confidence they had once carried had been shattered into dust inside that restroom. Now they looked at Gojo like souls condemned by a merciless deity.

Gojo gave them a playful wave.

"Alright then. That's enough trauma for the day. I'll be off—bye-bye."

He shrugged, hands slipping casually into his pockets, and walked off without giving them another glance.

His pace quickened slightly as he remembered something much more important: Desserts!.

Before stepping into the restroom earlier, he had asked Hiratsuka Shizune to order some extra desserts along with coffee for him. By now, they should be waiting in the staff office.

The thought of strawberry pudding made his lips curl into a grin. His steps, naturally lazy, sped up just a little.

Behind him, the three high schoolers stared at his disappearing back, their pride in tatters.

Yoshitake finally lowered his head and muttered in a low, defeated tone, "What now?"

Tadakuni dragged himself to his feet, wobbling as though he had just returned from the battlefield. "Go back to class. Forget today ever happened…"

He sighed. Deep down, he knew this wasn't something he could ever erase. This humiliation would haunt him for life. Perhaps one day, he thought, he'd search for an organization that specialized in erasing memories.

Only then could he move on.

Tabata said nothing. He simply nodded, his eyes still empty, and the three of them trudged away together in silence, their shoulders heavy with defeat.

.....

Inside the staff room,

Gojo was already in his element, as he twirled the spoon dramatically before plunging it into a glossy cup of strawberry pudding.

"Dessert truly is the greatest blessing in the world," he declared with pride, savoring the sweetness on his tongue. "Anyone who doesn't eat dessert is practically committing heresy."

He finished the pudding in record time, then chased it with a gulp of coffee—coffee that was less "coffee" and more "sugar soup." Ten sugar cubes dissolved within, turning it into something so sweet it could kill a mortal man. But Gojo leaned back in his chair with a blissful sigh.

"Sweet tooth supremacy, forever and always!" he announced, voice loud enough to make a few teachers glance at him.

Across from him, Hiratsuka Shizune raised an eyebrow. She took a dignified sip of her own black coffee, bitterness cutting through her thoughts as she observed him with exasperation.

"I really don't get it," she said. "Eat sweets like that every day, and you'll have diabetes before you're forty."

Gojo waved dismissively, like a philosopher brushing off an unworthy argument.

"Wrong, Shizuka-sensei. Sweetness is the most important thing in this world. It ignites the taste buds, fuels the body, revitalizes the brain! It's pure, radiant energy condensed into edible form. In short, sugar is salvation itself!!"

His dramatic declaration filled the room.

Hiratsuka pinched the bridge of her nose, hiding a small smile.

"Yes, yes, oh Wise sugar prophet. Sweetness is the most important thing. I hear you."

The sarcastic reply only made Gojo puff out his chest further, crossing his arms like a spoiled younger brother refusing to back down.

"Don't make that face, Shizuka-sensei. I'm dead serious."

She sighed, playing along with weary indulgence.

"Sure,Sure. So serious~, Got it."

Just as their playful bickering threatened to spiral into another round, the door burst open with a bang.

"Shizuka-sensei! We came for lunch again!"

Both Gojo and Hiratsuka turned in unison toward the lively female voice.

The doorway framed a girl with neck-length reddish-brown hair, dark brown eyes, and a sizeable bust. Her smile radiant and sweet enough to outshine the afternoon sun.

Behind her followed another woman, tall with short reddish-brown hair, exuding the composed aura of an older sister figure.

Hiratsuka blinked. "Naruko Yokoshima… and Chihiro? You two again?"

The blonde—Naruko Yokoshima—skipped into the room with her usual bubbly energy.

"Yup! We came to beg you for food again, Shizuka-sensei! You don't mind, right?"

Her voice was bright, carefree—until her eyes landed on Gojo Satoru, casually leaning back in his chair.

The smile froze.

Her squinted eyes shot wide open, revealing her ocean-blue irises that gleamed like gemstones.

A small sound slipped past her lips. "Oh-hooo…~"

Hiratsuka's stomach dropped. Oh no…

Chihiro's expression tensed. This can't be good.

In the next second, Naruko's face reddened. Her breath grew uneven, her lips parting like a hungry wolf catching sight of prey.

Then she shouted at the top of her lungs: "Handsome! He's so handsome! Exactly my type!"

Like a rocket, she launched herself across the room.

"Yokoshima—wait!" Hiratsuka cried, but it was too late.

With the speed of a charging beast, Naruko tackled Gojo, practically throwing herself into his lap. Her arms coiled around his shoulders as she nuzzled her face against his uniform like an affectionate cat marking territory.

"Handsome, so handsome!" she babbled, her voice a constant stream of chaos. "Do you have a girlfriend? If you don't, let's get married right now! Quit this boring job, and let's live together like newlyweds! We'll buy a cozy house, and—oh, our first child, if it's a boy we'll name him Haruto, and if it's a girl, Hikari! Doesn't that sound perfect?!"

She rattled on endlessly, a one-woman storm of delusion. In her mind, she was already planning their entire life together—wedding, honeymoon, children, even the dog's name.

Gojo blinked, but instead of flinching, he simply chuckled. His arms remained casually at his sides, and that infuriating grin of his widened.

"Well… that escalated quickly."

Hiratsuka pressed a hand to her forehead, exhaling sharply.

"I knew my colleague would go overboard when meeting him… but this? This is beyond excessive."

Chihiro, frozen in place, looked like her brain had short-circuited. Her mouth opened and closed, but no words came out.

Meanwhile, Naruko only tightened her hold, her cheeks rubbing against Gojo's shoulder as if she never intended to let him go.

Gojo sighed, his grin teasing. "Guess I'm just too handsome for my own good."

And with that, the staff office descended into absolute chaos.
