Chapter 180 - Chapter 180: The Atlantic Federation's Malicious Schemes

Faced with a windfall that fell right into the lap of the East Asian Alliance.

In such a situation, whether you were General Zheng or Chief of Staff Jiang.

Both were of the same mind.

That was, the windfall must be taken no matter what, and as for the Atlantic Federation's attitude?

Sorry!

We have plenty of people here to engage in endless debates with you.

However, the subsequent developments exceeded the expectations of both men and the East Asian Alliance.

Faced with the East Asian Alliance's feigned garrisoning of the Allied Forces headquarters while essentially eroding Alaska's control.

The greedy black-and-white eagle next door, which would even pluck a leg off a mosquito flying past.

It actually remained unmoved?

Just as the East Asian Army was racking their brains to understand, and the masters of the Li Fan Yuan were bitterly regretting having no use for their skills this time.

In a highly classified military fortress somewhere in the Atlantic Federation, the high-level figures who dominated the federation gathered together.

Before all the attendees, Azrael slammed the table.

"Thump," his fist hit the table and metaphorically struck the faces of those present.

Immediately, a representative from a consortium not affiliated with LOGOS showed him no respect.

Flicking the ash from his large cigar, the representative glared displeasedly at Azrael and asked.

"What's the matter? What could make the famous leader of our Blue Cosmos so angry?"

"What do you mean by that!"

Already furious, Azrael grew even angrier at the representative's sarcastic tone.

"Now it's not just the Coordinators, even the East Asian Alliance is undermining us."

"Open your eyes and see clearly, does the Alaska region now belong to the Atlantic Federation or the East Asian Alliance!"

"Oh?" Another representative, with a sidelong glance, stared at the fuming Azrael and said.

"Speaking of that, I'd like to ask."

"Before the Alaska battle, who confidently claimed that this battle would surely establish our Atlantic Federation's authority?"

"Who said it would re-establish the Atlantic Federation's absolute ruling position in the Earth Sphere?"

"Azrael, is the current situation your way of accounting to everyone?"

"Did the Alaska battle establish the East Asian Alliance's authority or the Atlantic Federation's?"

"You tell us to open our eyes and see? Why don't you open your eyes and see!"

At this point, the representative grew increasingly angry, slamming the table even more fiercely than Azrael.

"Don't you see what's being spread outside?"

"The East Asian and Eurasian alliances haven't said anything openly, but what about the rumors circulating within the military? Where did they come from!"

"Standing by while allied forces fought alone, not only failing to rescue them but also planning to wipe out both the allies and the Coordinators in one go?"

"Now the Eurasian Alliance is alienated from us, and the East Asian Alliance is rising to seize control of the Allied Forces."

"You bear full responsibility!"

"You!" Azrael stood up, slapping the table, feeling deeply wronged.

Using allied forces as bait to lure in the Coordinators, then ultimately sending them all to their doom together.

Haven't we done this before? Didn't we pull the same stunt at the Moon's Endymion Crater last time?

Back then, none of you said anything—instead, you all applauded and cheered.

And what exactly happened with the Eurasian Federation's Artemis Fortress?

Is there anyone here who isn't clear about that?

If we're really going to talk about the Alaska incident, it was their East Asian Army that set the example for me, wasn't it?

I'm just following their lead. Why is it acceptable when the East Asian Alliance does it, but not when I do?

Back then, the Eurasian Federation didn't turn against the East Asian Alliance, so how dare they turn against our Atlantic Federation now?

Aren't you just fearmongering!

Gritting his teeth, Azrael glared with intense resentment.

His eyes fixed on the two representatives from other corporate factions who had been the first to oppose him.

Just as he was about to defend himself at this highest-level behind-the-scenes meeting of the Atlantic Federation—

Thump, thump, thump.

A representative seated at the head of the table raised a gavel and struck the table, putting an end to the meaningless internal squabbling.

"Azrael, you don't understand."

The representative picked up the remote control on the table and turned on the conference room's television screen.

The images displayed were of the East Asian Army's staggering array of weapons deployed in Alaska.

There was the Kunpeng Airborne Aircraft Carrier soaring through the skies, the MS Rem and Jeda lined up in formation on the ground.

Even more striking were the seemingly endless missile vehicles stationed along Alaska's offshore coastline.

Most importantly, there were the cutting-edge technological achievements: the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and Military Unmanned Suicide Spiders.

"Do you understand now?"

The head representative stared at Azrael, whose face was shifting between shades of pale and flushed.

"This world isn't that complicated. All truths lie within the coverage of artillery fire."

"Civilization, culture—they are all built upon the foundation of your strength."

"In the past, when the world was uncivilized, what did we rely on to establish 'special economic zones' across the globe?"

"When the world became more developed, what did we rely on to freely use economic means to plunder the wealth of other nations?"

"Everyone here knows exactly why our culture is accepted by the world."

"It's not because our culture is superior, but because we were once the strongest in the world."

"Just like how Roman civilization became worthless after its military power collapsed,"

"Once we lose the foundation we depend on, the Federation will cease to exist."

"I understand what you mean."

Azrael dared to argue with other representatives, but when facing the head representative,

He had no choice but to lower his proud head and respond softly.

The Eurasian Federation's wavering loyalty was, in the end, nothing more than a reaction to the East Asian Alliance's astonishing military capabilities.

In the face of a fist larger than a casserole, the veneer of civilization—the tailored tuxedo—

Concealed the same old bully, opportunistic at its core. The Eurasian Federation's indecision was simply an inevitable outcome.

To bring the Eurasian Federation back into its role as a follower of the Atlantic Federation,

The solution was actually quite simple.

A sinister glint flashed in Azrael's eyes as he lowered his head, and he nearly gave the order

To dispatch the secretly assembled MS Dagger unit for a "tour" across the lands of the Eurasian Federation.

Just like his successor Djibril, Azrael wanted to demonstrate power through a show of force.

To make those fools on the old continent understand once again.

Who truly rules this world.

But it was impossible!

Clenching his fist, Azrael's face contorted.

That rabbit, always appearing harmless, had now bared its fierce fangs.

According to their past conventions, it was utterly unthinkable for them to pull off a cuckoo's nest like seizing Alaska.

And once they had done it, did it mean they were embarking on a path of expansion?

After all, that nation's vast territory wasn't acquired through polite dinner parties.

"I will prove it to everyone at the Panama Spaceport."

Having made thorough preparations before attending the meeting, Azrael presented the most likely course of action the Coordinators would take, along with their own most appropriate response, as discussed by numerous staff officers.

"In light of the current situation, although our military's pre-set plan in Alaska did not succeed."

"One undeniable fact is that the East Asian Army accomplished what we wanted to do."

"After this battle, the Coordinators have effectively lost over seventy percent of their mobile forces."

"Therefore, for the Coordinators to achieve final victory in this war,"

"The only way is to continue blockading the main force of our Allied Forces on Earth. Thus, the spaceports controlled by our military and the East Asian Army are the crucial points the Coordinators must attack."

"To that end!"

As a representative of the military-industrial complex and one of the pillars of the Atlantic Federation's hegemony, Azrael stood up.

Facing all the scrutinizing gazes of the various consortium representatives present, Azrael revealed a proud smile.

"The Federation has secretly produced MS Daggers that rival the East Asian Army in both quantity and quality."

"I have already deployed this force in advance at the Panama Spaceport."

"Given the Coordinators' military strength, they only have the capacity to launch one more major campaign."

"If they attack the East Asian spaceport, that would certainly be something we'd like to see."

"Even if they choose our Atlantic Federation's Panama Spaceport, my elite MS units stationed there will deliver a heavy blow to the Coordinators."

"This is the perfect opportunity to prove to the world that the Atlantic Federation remains the undeniable beacon of the Natural world."

"Sounds pretty good."

The various industry leaders present had heard plenty of people painting grand visions of the future in front of PPT presentations.

Of course, with more experience comes greater resistance, so they were long past the stage of blindly believing someone's future projections.

A representative coldly interrupted Azrael's passionate speech.

"The probability of the Coordinators attacking our Panama Spaceport is almost one hundred percent."

"Are we just going to let the East Asian Alliance watch from the sidelines? Why not have them come to assist in defense first to wear down the Coordinators' morale, then we swoop in to claim the victory?"

Idiot?

Azrael stared at the questioning representative, really wanting to ask him.

Does such a perfect scenario exist in this world?

Wanting all the benefits without putting in any investment.

When Alaska failed, you all sat here furiously blaming me.

And now at the Panama Spaceport, you want to try the same approach again?

Though anger simmered in his heart, Azrael restrained his fury under the ambiguous gaze of the presiding representative.

He revealed a mysterious smile and asked, "Do you recall that great historical adversary? The powerful foe who once suppressed us to the point of suffocation?"

"How was the facade they presented to the world shattered?"

"Facade?"

Hearing this question, the expressions of many representatives in the assembly shifted.

That time was just like the present moment—the East Asian Alliance, as the successor to that formidable enemy, now exerted even greater pressure than before.

"Orb?"

A clever representative suddenly mentioned the name of a small nation.

"Yes, Orb."

Curving the corners of his mouth, Azrael prompted, "Through the Empire's Cesspool, everyone learned that our great adversary was no different from us—birds of a feather."

"From that moment, having stepped into the cesspool, they lost their moral high ground and revealed their true threat."

"Thus, we were able to unite the Western world."

"So why not do the same now?"

"Orb doesn't have the geographical advantage of that cesspool to hold back the East Asian Alliance."Shaking his head, a representative expressed concern despite agreeing with Azrael in principle." "Besides, the East Asian Alliance isn't like that greedy entity; they won't actively set foot in Orb."

"Why wouldn't they?"

Azrael shrugged. "Don't they love waving the banner of righteousness to punish the wicked and rescue the people?"

"The Coordinators are currently our enemies. Shouldn't we unite all forces at this time to fight for the survival of Naturals?"

"Orb also has a Mass Driver. If Orb joins us, we could end the war much faster."

"Think of how many lives could be saved—in their words, how many seven-story pagodas of merit would that build?"

"Of course, I know with their wisdom, they would never resort to force to resolve this."

"But what if Orb fires the first shot?"
