"I'm installing cameras throughout my house," Damien said casually. Then, after a deliberate pause, he added, "And yours too."
Fred's eyes widened slightly, though he did his best not to let the reaction show on his face.
"That way, even if he sneaks in and grabs the antidote, I'll catch him on camera," Damien continued, his voice calm but calculating. "I'll know exactly who he is."
His tone darkened as his gaze sharpened.
"And once I know…" He stepped closer, lowering his voice. "I'll chase him down."
His lips curved into a faint, almost dangerous smile.
"And I'll make him mine."
What a fool, Fred thought inwardly, barely resisting the urge to facepalm. Thanks for telling me your entire plan. If I were the one sneaking around, I'd already know how to avoid every single camera.
